  1. For peace of mind I would just open the timing chain cover and redo it... cheap parts and what not, and an excuse to do some wrenching.
  2. Well I'm glad to see that McKinney has recognized that there are different types of mounts now... However I still think the website information is a bit off still. According to the website the breakdown of the years are as follows... 70-73 240z TYPE 1 73 LATE 240 Z TYPE 2 260/280 Z IS TYPE 3 I'm almost 100% certain that 70-73 should not be bracketed as one type as there are Series 1 and Series 2 240Z that are different in transmission mounting locations, however they do have a valid disclaimer saying you should contact them with the production year which would determine the correct transmission mount to use.
  3. It's as if the Nissan engineers designed the car first before they designed the motor... Almost all RB setups on this website, the bay is almost meant for it perfectly.
  4. Only thing different was the transmission bracket. Obviously the 280ZX has more smog crap in the engine bay and clutter from tons of EFI stuff, but other than that, the motors mount the same...
  5. Every time I look at your freakin turbo I think it should say... Caution, please keep all hands, ligaments, digits and small children away from opening... excessive boost may eliminiate the chance of seeing these body parts/children ever again.
  6. Ha, right on. Might want to get a hood just for MSA goodies. Tax refunds must be good for something.
  7. No, the site ripped off the pix, Austin bought is from Alex like many moons ago.
  8. The 240Z/260Z/280Z is the same size.
  9. Whoever has this hood.... how does the hood fit from Raceon
  10. Maybe sell it in Japan or Aust for some high dollars, then fund a nice project =)
  11. Tell the owner to leave that particular car alone since it is restored to original specs and find another chassis. It would be a complete waste. Have you ever owned a Z before?
  12. How many people are going? http://www.zcarparts.com/ I guess I'm somewhat honored, or they took a damn good picture of my car last year since it happens to be the bright yellow Z on the thumbnail of the link on the Motorsport Page for 2008 Westcoast Nationals.
  13. This tranny mount is completely useless for 240Z style mounts unless you plan to add brackets to the inside of your transmission tunnel, which at that point is no longer a bolt in. Works perfect for 260's and 280s. Just my $0.02
  14. IMPORTANT Just remember, Nissan made 3 different transmission mounts from 70-78. The series 1 240Z is different, and the series 2 240Z is a bit different. Finally the 280Z style which I think was used in the 260Z as well is a completely different mount. The 240Z's have pins that bolt up into the chassis while the 280Z style is a slide through pin from the side. I think this is why a lot of people say fab your own tranny mount.
  15. From my website... So I went to ebay and bought myself a brand new speed sensor (aftermarket). I think the AC Delco part number is "SC78", which is the same as Nissan "25911-40P10" (From a Z32 TT). It was only $38+$5 shipping compared to Nissan which was about $150, and Kragen Online $148.
  16. I want to say my radiator is this one "Griffin 1-28182-X" @ http://www.summitracing.com My inlet and outlet is on the same side so I don't have to worry about that crossover pipe. The other benefit to a radiator like this, is the fact that it is a cross flow radiator, meaning it cools the top, then goes down on one side end tank, then down to the outlet. Basically snakes through the radiator twice, so technically it should get a tad bit more cooling if the fan is effective? Can someone verify this fact with me? Specs should be 22" Wide x 19" Height x 3" Thick. You can search the website for radiator, and click through until you find the specs. The inlet hose and outlet hose should be passenger side. Click Here
  17. I don't think I ever posted the most recent photo, but here it is.
  18. Not trying to knock your setup, but that large turbo will not fit with that manifold onto the Z chassis. <--- I know from experience.
  19. Almost want to sell my Turbo setup for them ITBs and Header!
  20. Here is some more eyegasms I found on the Rocky Auto Website... Enjoy
