  1. Your not the only one.I bought my car from Cyrus from the board. It was a totaly stock 71 240Z with a 01 LS1/T56.The suspention, brakes, trivetrain was totaly stock. He just decided to build another Z with the Supra motor. It's possable that the guy knows he has the spent another 9 to 12K on the car like brakes, suspention, body and paint, ext to finish it. You have some pictures of the car?
  2. I ran the same intake set up as Mike.Run the 3.5 like it should be.You dont need to remove much materal and it just took me about 10 minutes to make it fit perfect.Nobody will ever know you cut it.I used a 3/8 fuel line and cut it length wise. Then put it around the hole so it wouldnt scratch up my intake.
  3. I have a R230 and no sway bar.I was told I dont need one.Alot of guys I know dont.My car handles fine with Camber plates and coil overs. My swaybar looks like the one in those pictures you posted.Dont run it.It's way to still. It needs to flex a little.I got mine from speedway.I am getting rid of it.Interested
  4. Yeh,you never know....alot of guys dont like the fact that I will be making hand over foot on them, even though it doesnt realy matter what I paid.......does it???What should matter is what the car is worth to them....Now the car is on ebay for everybody to have a chance at it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2486548444&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT If I dont feel like I'm going to get enough for it........I"M USING IT...NOT FOR A CLASSIC EITHER..... :flamedevil: I have looked this past week at other 240's.I looked at 3 different ones. They were all crap for $2800 to $3800 dollars. It's like what i said if you don't get the price you want then hack into it. Now all the haters can either put up or shut up! A lot of these guys talk big it's time for you to collect BIG!
  5. Alright........I have decided to sell the car and not do the LS1 conversion to this one.You make sense and so do a few others.I removed the interior from it buy put back like half of it after I cleaned it.I will be putting it on ebay for everybody to have a chance at it.A lot of the guys from classiczcar site were pretty upset when they found out what I was doing to it.Now they have opportunity to get. They were talkin Sh!! to me and other crap because I wanted to do the LS1 swap....What's up with that???Where is the love Where's the support like I get here?? Anyways,I will be posting a link for whoever is interested a little later when I do the ebay AD.
  6. Here is a few pictures of the car when I removed the interior. This car is cleaner then I thought. The floor boards are perfect and the trunk is like new.Do you guys think I should sell it and get another doner?????
  7. Your right,I know.It make sense.I have been getting tons of emails and even hate mail because I want to drop a LS1 in it. I am sooooo confused on what to do.I'm not sure if I should ebay the car like it is or with the interior.I like the car because it's a good foundation for me to start with, but the problem is that it's to good......to good to hack into.I want to put a full cage in it and cut and weld a whole lot of stuff and even put the car on a rotisserie. It a pretty tough decision and not sure what to do at this point.I have been still lookin for another 240 in the meantime I'm not sure what I would be able to get for it. I took all the interior out and not sure if it was a mistake.I think i might have screwed up according to some guys..... . just cant decide...John
  8. I took the interior out of the car cause it was just not my color.I figures I would ebay it.When I was cleaning out the car when Mike (mas280) came over and couldnt believe I removed the interior. He's trying to convince me to sell it to someone who wants to restore it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2486216197&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT
  9. I posted a link to this site on the classiczcar.com and alot of guys were not happy with me...I dont want to start drama, just thought I would share the story with them.
  10. Hey there Mike ,I think we have the 4.5 back spacing on our new wheels dont we?
  11. I placed a AD on craigs list last week for a wanted 240Z body that was in clean shape.I got a few calls here and there.Yesterday morning a woman called me to tell me about her 73 240Z she has.She said that she stored her 240Z since 1987 in her parents chicken coop and now she is selling there home and has to get rid of the car.She explained that she is the original owner, never had a accident and car was out of the weather for 14 1/3 years so it should be in good condition for me.So I decided to go on this 3 hour tour to her farm is Petaluma,CA. The coop that that car was in was in such bad shape that there was holes in the floor from rot.I cant believe the car didn't fall through it.This 73 240Z is not perfect but it the cleanest original 240Z's I have seen. There is no rust in the usual spots like the quarters and fenders. The engine compartment is extremely clean. The floor boards are as if the car was built a couple years ago,not even surface rust. The interior is a pretty nasty color but in clean condition. She told me she never beat on the car and was never a fast driver. She also said this car hasnt seen daylight in 14 years so I hate to do this to such a clean Z but I'm going to gut this car and drop my 01 LS1 T56 in it.When I was trying to move it,I tried to jack it up and my jack went through the floor!I was so nervous that this car was going to fall through when I started to move it the floor started crackling and making serious noise but got lucky.Take a look at the pictures.Tell me what you think
  12. I know what you mean about having all the machines. The are so explesive.I'm lucky to have a buddy that has a new machine shop and is building stuff we always talked about finaly.
  13. Right now the torque I have is 355.8 but I plan to have a whole lot more then that.I know I can run up to 600 HP no problem. My cousin Darius was putting almost 700HP ar the wheels before the motor blew on the dyno and the car was so out of toon.He beats his car and he never blew a diff....that's what sold me .......Thanks for the compliment on the bar,put alot of hard work into this one to make it right the first time, the material alone was about $200............cant afford the just try again.
  14. This Mustache bar will fit the Q45 diff and the 300TT.The mounting studs in the rear are in the same location
  15. Cyrus, the wheels you see on Mikes car are mine, his should be here any day now and are exactly the same. These are 275/40/17 and work well.they look like they will rub,but they wont.I been running them for a while and pleased with them.I have the build sheet of the wheels somewhere so I should have the specs for you. Daruis on the other hand is running 315's ....I dont think he will have a traction problem any more.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong,I think the factory Q45 diff is basicly a R200 housing with internals of a R230.I had a diff out of a 94 TT but the mounting for it was way different.I was told the gears in it were to low for my application.I'm running the T56 so I went to the Q45.My cousin Darius has a diff from a 300 TT and he has no traction 1,2,3 gears. So I wanted to try this one out.
  17. Just wondering what your guys think. This is one of a few things that I'm having made for my 240.I'm still not done with it.I'm sending it out to get anidized and do a couple things to it. This is the new front mount I had made.Bolts right up with no binding up at all.
  18. I'm running 275's on my car with 17's and hook up real good. quote="cyrus"]For now good for burn outs. I want to know what you can fit using coilover and 16" rims. 245's?[/quote
  19. I went up against my friends ZO6 and beat him 3 times in a row.I'm running a 01 LS1 in a 72 240 with full exaust and mild cam...felt good too.
  20. Dam!That thing is huge. You plan on running the tires you have on there?
  21. You got any pictures of what your talkin about?I had a similar problem.
  22. Glad to hear that.Let e know if you need help........
  23. HAHA,your not kidding about the Sanderson price. I got raped when I bought my set.I had to pick them up from South SF and then drive back to Walnut Creek to find out they dont fit so now I had to bring them back and forth like 4 or 5 different times cause he kept screwing up,cutting and re-welding the wrong header... .He kept screwing up on my headers. His welds sucked too, leaving splatter from his welds.I brought my headers home and cleaned the welds my self. They looked good on joeys and mas280's.I just got frusterated. He should have payed my gas.You know what they say,you want something done right, do it your self...............If your able to do it.
  24. I not knockin the Arizona Z parts.I like Dave and have no gripes except for the stiff ride. The bottom line is that the front control arms are strictly for road race application only. You just didn't know how the cars going to ride till you install it and go test it.There is just not many after market control arms set ups for early Datsuns. The stock one works but look lame.I'm having aluminum control arms made for my car with adjustable TC rod with bushings.I thought other Z guys might be interested cause nobody makes the stuff.Since he's making my control arms on the CNC,he could probably make a few more for others.Your car doesn't have to be a hot rod to have Billet aluminum on it.I'm sure the steel is heavier.I don't thing anybody should knock it until they see it.I seen his design work and looks sweet.I never seen anything like it for any Datsun.I'm turning my car almost into a show car so I guess I care about that stuff more then most.I wont be driving it like a show car that's for sure.
