  1. There is a company called Powerhouse, in Bakersfield CA, 661-861-0167. They sell a strocker kit for a 305, I think it makes it a 337. It costs $599.00.
  2. I don't know, I did mine myself, maybe $2000.00? for the frame and labour. You supply diff and suspension. Just a guess.
  3. Don't get me wrong, the 9 inch is a very good diff. If you got a good deal, buy it! Make sure this diff your looking at is the right length for your car with the wheels and tires on it.If it is, then the fun begins! You need to cut out the whole back floor with the stock frame. Then build a new frame to mount the diff and clear your tire combo. You need to make new tubs (wheel wells), and figure out how to mount the new suspension. Everything has to be level and straight!Lots of measuring! This is a simplified version. You may want a pro to do this if you have never done something like this. Hope this helps, and good luck!
  4. Actually the 12 bolt is lighter than a 9 inch, and in stock form is stronger. The 9 inch is only stronger when you start adding all the aftermarket stuff to it, which rises the cost of it. Plus the 9" uses more HP than a 12 bolt, because the pinion is lower in the case (causes more drag).Insalling it is not easy, it's a lot of work. I installed my own 12 bolt, but did a lot of fabricating to get it in there. Mike kZ
  5. Since you will be using a 9" and slicks, (I assume)there is a posibility of popping a wheelie. I've been thinking of this also since I have a 12 bolt chevy under my 240Z. I guess we'll have to see! Mike kZ
  6. No problem! , and welcome! Mike kZ
  7. I think I'm with Mikelly on this one, it would be a nice touch. You probably wont even see it unless you look hard. Besides I'm proud of having a Chevy V8 under the hood!, and like Mike said you can't hide it when the engine comes to life! Myron, I do have a hole cut in the hood, with an AC Cobra low profile hood scoop molded to the hood. Not to mention the shortened diff, sump welded to the gas tank, and dual exhaust on each side of the tank. I don't think I can hide it! Thanks for the opinions. 8. Here's the thing. I have a pair of these cool 60's chrome V8 emblems. I sanded off the chrome( not very good chrome) and will paint them the color of the car, so you really have to look to see them. I was thinking of putting them on the lower part of the front fenders behind the wheels. My question is.. should I put these on, or go sleeper and not use them at all? What do you guys think? Mike kZ
  9. These posts are why I didn't want to mess with the stock rear end! I built and narrowed the rear frame, ditched the strut towers, mini tubbed the wheel wells, and put in a narrowed 12 bolt chevy with 3.73 posi and disc brakes. I used Jeg's street/strip suspension, panhard bar, and coil overs.I'm using 295-50-15 tires on 10 inch rims. All this was a hell of a lot of work, but I don't have to worry about breaking anything! I haven't got the car on the road yet to tell you how it works, but hopefully soon! Mike kZ
  10. I welded in the S&W roll bar, and I didn't have to remove any plastic panels at all. Mike kZ
  11. Those heads are on new stock V8 chevy trucks. They are cast, not aluminum as far as I know. Mike kZ
