  1. id snag them. just dont drive fast in the rain. not like your going to drive the car anytime soon anyway.
  2. i always thought that loctite wouldn't be efficient because of the torque required on the crank bolt...
  3. Does anyone know of a shop that does work on differentials in the so cal area? can i just take it to a machine shop to get work done on it?
  4. i have 73 rods sitting in my garage. let me know if you need them still.
  5. I emailed shell about the Rotella T oil and using it in gasoline engines and here is what they said: So i guess it is ok to run in gas motors everyday.
  6. you dont absolutely need it. It does help if you are idling for a while, but if you constantly moving than, no its not NECESSARY.
  7. Agreed. i have PS on mine as well, and i can still detect some of the bumpsteer when im taking freeway onramps hard.
  8. ill post a picture of the endlinks when i get home. It had to have happened over a short time because both arms are the same way. The sound on saturday was by far the loudest i have heard it. I had heard the same sound a couple times over the past few weeks, but i just thought it was my suspension bottoming out hard when i would hit a bump on the freeway. When i first got the car i had a shop put in the bars. Maybe they didnt put them in the right way...
  9. the endlink bushings are still good, but the washers that were on the backside came right out. The washers are still good, i can reuse em! Ive never seen or heard of anything like this before...
  10. I heard a loud clunk coming from the right rear while i pulling into a driveway today. I got home and found out that the piece of metal that my sway bars connected to, broke off. I looked at the other side and found out the same thing. Im already looking at getting new arms because the holes are about 1.5-2 inches wide. Is there anyway to reinforce the sway bar mount to make sure this doesnt happen again? I was thinking about welding a piece of metal to the underside when i get the new arms. Would that be ok? a couple pics...
  11. If you go to my cardomain site, its has a couple pics of the box we built for my car. It has 3 cubic feet which is perfect for my subs. The dark gery stuff in the box is the dynamat that we used. I used a spray in as opposed to the mat type. To secure the box we welded one end of an L bracket to the inside of the well. Then we used 6 other smaller L brackets and rivoted those into the deck. I made the lid detachable that way when i would need to leave it overnight somewhere (transmission shop or paint shop or just out of town for a while) i could take the top off and not have to worry about anyone breaking in for the stereo. http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/111180/
  12. you might want to try a zx radiator. they are 3 row instead of the stock 2 row. it should help with the cooling. you might try to get your radiator flushed too. that might help out.
  13. sometimes it takes a lot of wiggleing and forcing to get it on. Try focusing on getting the bolts that connect the bellhousing to the motor lined up. if you can get a couple of those bolts in you should be able to get it in. Yes the clutch goes in with the spings facing the pressure plate.
  14. i would be careful about pushing it hard. the bigger pulley probably weighs more and might throw off the balance on the crankshaft. I dont think it will, but it could.
  15. On one of my old balancers i could remove the powersteering pulley. I would take a look to see if you can do it to yours. There should be about 6 little (10mm) bolts that bolt into the other two pulleys. You will HAVE to get it rebalanced after taking the PS pulley off though.
  16. if they sell it to you at invoice plus T&L it will be 17,7 out the door. Ask for someone in the fleet or internet department. Im working at nissan right now and we are selling everything at invoice just to get rid of the 05's. What most people dont know is that there is what they call a hold back. A hold back is money set aside. So, even if they sell it at invoice, they still make commission on the hold back. So its not like they are really losing money, they just arent making as much.
  17. thanks, when i bought my car it already had the conversion done and i wasnt sure how hard it would have been to do. a lot of people are surprised that i have it, and it sucks because i cant tell them anything about it. anyway thanks again.
  18. has anyone ever done a power steering swap into a 73 240? if so how hard is it?
