  1. I would have to say, that car was wrecked so it was definitely not you, but similar for sure. That thing's going to be a beast in the Z. You should throw a turbo on there, I agree, but I think it should be a bigger one! That thing was way to small for the big LS1. Love your interior setup by the way, today made me basically want to copy your setup cause it is perfect for a Z.
  2. I saw your car on a tow truck on the 805 south Wednesday, what happened? While the L6 is a nice motor, it's hard to argue with the LS1 swap haha.
  3. Keeping those in mind, looking for a complete set though.
  4. Going to bite the bullet and replace my worn rears with these instead of kyb's. If anyone has a spare set around shoot me an offer. Can pickup in LA to San Diego if shipping is too much.
  5. I think your referring to X64v? I came across his posts (which I have saved that MS thread for info) stating he had a E88 head on the L24 block, and then went to a stock turbo bottom end with the p79. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/34536-megasquirt-map-information-sharing-all-code-versions/page__view__findpost__p__584705 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/34536-megasquirt-map-information-sharing-all-code-versions/page__view__findpost__p__651005
  6. Very nice. Sitting for 9 years huh? Crazy. I used this to tune my Z's SU's. I never tuned a carb let alone dual carbs and this really helped get it right. http://www.sonic.net/~kyle/su.html
  7. I'm gathering the last few parts needed to complete a turbo setup, some of which was leftovers from previous turbo cars. My question is with a P79 head on a P30 block will their be any problems? I searched and could only find the compression should be somewhere between 6-7:1 and only 1 person said there might be clearance issues with no responses. I know the P30 block is solid and in good shape overall. I plan to "test" on this block and get all the little problems / bugs out of the car and over time grab a n42/f54 to rebuild for a 400~ to the wheels car. Only aiming for a low boost setup maybe 200-250 to the wheels max. Would there be any problems running this? I am aware getting a 2.8 block is optimal, but that will come in the future no doubt.
  8. If I was choosing another Z, it would be a 75 280z. No smog, better fuel supply, more weight/bracing (for more power). I of course do not want a stock car and plan to track it quite a lot. Swapping everything on my 240z for a EFI turbo setup takes a lot more work (and money) then I had originally planned, and really wish I had a 280z at this point.
  9. I daily'd my 73 240z with original motor, no ac, no working air, no radio, broken original seats, blown rear struts, leaking water in the rain, and cabin exhaust fumes that had been sitting for years before I got it every day putting some days almost 200 miles on it out in the middle of no where in 95+ degree weather and never did it let me down. I did have to replace some very old parts that failed / needed servicing but nothing major and nothing that left me on the side of the road. Drove it for 8 months straight as my only car before I got a jeep and decided to tear it apart and fix her up.
  10. Man, you guys got some great space to work in. I use the driveway.
  11. Wow, does anyone have shoots of that thing installed?
  12. I believe the 2+2 models are longer to accommodate the back seat they have. If you have ever been in a non 2+2 model Z you should know that their is literally no space behind the seats. That would mean putting the seats in the hatch area which is raised quite a good bit higher thne the front seats. Unless you plan on cutting the body and creating your own space?
  13. Always LOVE your videos man. Inspiration for my s30 build.
  14. Have you tried putting a cap or two of oil in the spark plug on #6 and re doing the test? Possible the rings are leaking. Generally speaking, I don't think motors "fix themselves", usually tend to get worse over time / use. You could also try a leak down test to see where your losing the compression if the oil doesn't make it go back up.
  15. I will be going the MS route for my 73, and been having nightmares thinking about basically rewiring the entire car for it. The only current option is to pay someone a truck load of cash to do it for me or do it myself. I would love to see what your offerings will be for the S30 chassis and pricing.
  16. Wow man car looks great. I love those side pipes, can't wait to hear them! 6 years though, holy man I am only on year 1 and am dying to get a swap done myself lol. Seems just when you think your closer you remember something else or want to add something else
  17. Just went through the whole thread. Awesome work on the Z! Got me a little more inspired to get started on my L28ET swap, when funds allow of course. Does that car ever sit on the street? I could swear I have seen it before.
