OH yeah, it needs more help than I can provide. Dismantling it and trading off the remainder of the shell to help repair a wrecked '79 280Z, hopefully.

I've got one in Lapeer, about an hour north of Detroit if you don't find one closer. It's a 3.90.

If you want the Nissan trans instead, I have a good one in Detroit for $250. Just mentioning, you never know. From my Chevy and Ford experiences, T5s are the most evil and vile transmissions to ever walk this earth and they will only bring intense suffering upon those forced to live with them.

If he falls through, I too have a good trans from an L28 '81 Z, the Nissan 5-speed. Unknown on the shipping though, I'll have to look into it.

If that's true, how do they repair windshields in the winter time? We had one put in at 20 degree farenheit and it never got above 50 for another 3 months. I'm just curious, not arguing.

I never get a car without getting repair manuals of some sort for it too. Looks like a good set of books to peruse.

I don't mean to cause an argument, but... is there a reason people put white faced gauges in the car? Is it a visibility thing or just looks? Personally, I just have always felt they were kinda tacky. :ducks to avoid thrown objects:

I would take it back to the alignment shop and ask what's going on. My Celica used to wander a bit- ended up being that the steering box was worn out. I don't know, but maybe the rack is to blame on your Z?

AH, it's the turbo's you're speaking of. I was about to say I have an '81 with a 5-speed as well, but it's a non turbo.

You can't drive any sort of performance car or V-8 car until a certain age? Wow, I'd never heard of that before. I've been driving V8s since I was 14... but they've all been excessively slow land yachts. I'm pretty sure there's plenty of family sedans that could have easily dusted my 360 powered Chrysler wagon. To the car at hand- it looks pretty saveable, I'd go after it. It'd be a good learning experience and probably a lot of fun and frustration, but as long as you stick to one project at a time, you'll be alright. It sure beats the living daylights out of my free 280ZX... haha

Out of curiousity, how are you tightening the gaskets down? Are you overtorquing them maybe? My friend was having a similar problem with gaskets on his RB, he was just overtorquing them and tightening them in a willy-nilly sequence.

Very nice, I like gold on cars. Shame most people want to repaint gold cars black, red, blue, etc. It looks good on the Z. Keep it that way!

Very nice! Out of curiosity, how did you make the picture with the water dripping off like that? Looks like icicles, really, though I'm guessing it's not. Just a lot of wide aperture/fast shutter speed shots?
