  1. Thanks Staledale, I've been to their website several times and have decided on those trim rings and taillights. Do you have any pics of your installed taillights you can post? Chelle, Thanks for the follow-up. What gauge aluminium are you using for the headlight cover trim? You too Larry, what gauge aluminium did you use? Thanks!

  3. Chelle, Speed, and anyone else with a source. What type of trim rings did you use for your headlights? I know VW Bug or Karman Gia will work but I wanted to know what you guys used. What type of license plate light? Chelle- are you going to install headlight covers? If so, are you going to fab or have fabbed some trim rings for them?
  4. I need to have your Yahoo Photo ID to pull up your photos.
  5. Thank you sir! I really like the way your wheel/tire combo looks and I'm sure I will go with a similar set-up.
  6. Speed, From the photos of your car the rims look like Daytons; is that correct? Are they 8" up front and 10" in the rear? Do you have any offset information? Thanks!
  7. Brian, Where did you get the battery tray and hold-down?
  8. That car is sweeeet! Even the semi-stock interior looks good with the GTO body (I'm not usually a fan of Z interiors with GTO bodies). Toyota V8 and the finish work looks great from the pics; let us know how it turns out.
  9. Chelle, I meant it in the best way possible. I have always enjoyed the pics of your car and am looking forward to posting a few of my own when it is complete.
  10. Well, after viewing some of Maichor's pics I can see how he trimmed the valance for this modification. His VR build was really coming along nicely; I wish he would chime in on this post and let us know how it is progressing.
  11. I need to break away from Chelle's GTO porn to ask a technical question. I am getting ready to bond the rear tub onto my Z body and wanted to know how I should treat the rear valance panel. John Washington's instructions require that the rear tub be secured with adhesive where the tub meets the rocker and door jam area. The rest if the tub is secured by filling the cavity between the Z body and the kit body with expanding foam. There is a gab of a few inches between the rear valance panels and I wanted to know if it was typical to leave the Z's valance panel in tack or cut out a portion. The reason I ask is because I am planning on cutting out a couple of oval exhaust ports through the fiberglass and did not want to have to cut through sheet metal, a layer of foam and then fiberglass. There is a member here named Maichor with a LS powered Velo Rossa who made a similar modification but he has not posted in quite a while or answered any of my messages. Here are some pics of his: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=96038 see near the bottom of the page. Any feedback is appreciated.
  12. Build a clone. You can make it exactly like you want and not worry about putting too many miles on it. Even the well done clones are starting to bring pretty good money.
  13. I'll be in Germany on the 5th, but just think...we will be drinking beer in different places together!
  14. Not a bad job; nice interior. The tail lights and lack of dual exhaust tips kill it for me though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140112203686&rd=1,1
  15. Expanded Metal, like you would find at Home Depot or other hardware stores is easy to cut with snips. If you want to use the good stuff; stainless steel double crimped wire mesh like used on Jags and other high-end cars, then you will need to use an abrasive wheel or something similar. Here is a link to one of many companies who sell crimped wire mesh: http://www.wiremesh-wanda.com/wire-mesh/wire-mesh.htm. Check ebay too.
  16. I was fired-up about the show after reading this thread so I had my wife tape the Ford episode today. I was really disappointed; too much on the Cobras not enough on Shelby's turn-around and development of the GT-40 project or the Shelby Mustangs, Boss series, Torino Cobras and not a single Pantera in the whole show! Too many replicas also.
  17. gijonas is not talking about Alain; he's talking about the host of Pinks.
  18. Thanks guys. After Pete's explanation I now understand why the machinists said it would not be a problem to run a high pressure oil pump. After the post by lbhsbz I checked out the after-market performance websites and just like he said, there are plenty of them out there.
  19. I love that show! The only thing better would be if Alain ran over the guy from Pinks with one of the cars (and then backed-up over him). Maybe they will do a Jeep episode so they don't mess up a beautiful car with that dweeb.
  20. That law is not really enforced; it was more of statement to the gun controll lobby. What it boils down to is...we Georgians prefer the concept of mutual deterents rather than being unarmed.
  21. That's the "Hope Scholarship"; a program funded by the Georgia Lottery.
  22. I just got my short block back from being assem/balanced and the machinists blocked off the oil filter bypass hole with a threaded plug. He said this was to keep the oil pressure up and was a common practice when they built engines. After seeing it, a couple mechanic buddies warned not to use a high pressure or high volume oil pump with this modification or I could blow the oil filter. Here are a couple pics so you can see: Are you guys (Grumpy) familiar with this mod and would you recommend it for a street car? What suggestions do you have for an oil pump? Thanks.
