  1. the stock pov is taken out and pluggrd up. using a dryer gas valve (huge) to turn up boost. the bosch bov should be a 5lb stock setting.
  2. i helped my buddy put in his 81turbo motor in his 73 240z, Supra IC, Bosch BOV, stock t3, boost gauge, air/fuel gauge, 370cc injectors, 2.5 exhaust into a chambered muffler. he's only getting 9-10lb of boost. now from what i think might be the problem is the muffler, because it's chambered and not flowing the exhaust air out fast and backpressure is occuring. could this be the problem????

  4. yes, you do have an internal reg. alternator. napa and kragens have decent alternators.
  5. thanks everyone for all you feed backs. i'll try to see if someone can video it. if not i'll let you all know the outcome if i raced the GSX.
  6. all went well... fabricated my bracket like the one zcarcreation sells. i love the single wire application, very straight forward. (100 amp alt.) thanks to all the tech support by EVERYONE who replied to my post.

  8. i really don't know my 1/4 times, but my buddy SS510 (3.0 liter L28et motor w/ supra turbo) runs 12.6 without nos. we did a roll on, downshift to 4th floored it, and i pulled about two cars lenght away. he told me my car should be a very low 12 second car. the guy i bought my whole motor said my setup at 18-20psi, should put me in the high 11's. i really don't know cause i never timed it yet......

  10. were're racing for pink slips or money. SS510 wants me to run the gsx (his buddy) to see how my car will do up againts it. SS510 said he would pull me off the line, but i might be able to beat him at the top end. i'm also running BFG drag radials. please more feedback...
  11. my car.... t3/t4, intercooled,18psi boost his car.... early GSX, 20G turbo, huge intercooler, 20-23psi boost i was wondering if my z can keep up with it, lose, or beat it. your info would greatly be appreciated. need expert opinions.
  12. mount the bov to the pipe (discharge outlet of compressor housing) the other big hole on bov, run a hose so it'll blow back into the intake after the afm.

  14. i could only think of some possibilities a car would overheat... 1. thermostat is no good 2. water pump is no good 3. too much coolant over water 4. fan clutch is no good 5. radiator is clogging up have you checked all these
  15. 1.take off j pipe & if you already drilled out the 60mm hole on your spacer already. then with the new t/b and spacer, put it all together and see if it aligns up to the intake manifold with the 4 bolt holes aligned too. then take it out again and this time just put the spacer up againts the intake with the 4 bolt holes perfectly aligned, mark the hole with a permanent marker. 2. stick a rag inside the intake manifold so when you port it the aluminum chips don't go into the manifold. 3. start cutting/porting the manifold where you outlined the circle . ( i used a router with a wood bit to do mines. took no time at all, just be very careful.) 4.after done porting, take out rag and clean off all chips from manifold 5.put it all together and measure how much you need to do the cutting on j-pipe 6. after the j-pipe is cut to lenght, you need a reducer coupling to fastened up the j-pipe to the 60mm throttle body. bolt everything up and your done.
  16. i have ..... 85 maxima alternator--- not going to use 82 280zx alternator--- may be i will use today i'm purchasing the single wire delco 10si-- this may be the one i'm putting in. fabricated a mount for it already.
  17. the guy said if i go with a single wire set up on the GM alternator, i don,t have to do anything to the plug that hooks up into the xternal regulator,just leave it alone. .my car is a 72 240. now,i know if i use an internal alternator from a later 280zx i have to jump some of the wires that hooks up into the xternal vol.regulator. is what the guy saying true? that i don't need to jump any of the wires that hook up to xternal regulator if i go with the single wire internal regulator alternator (GM Delco10si). please reply to whom has done this conversion or have any knowledge about it.   20. my younger brother told me these guys are always talking smack about how their cars can smoke mine. me, honestly i'm a lot older than my brother, so i dont like racing too much. but he said these fools are calling me out to race with them. so last weekend i went and meet up wiht them. we're out in the countryside, about 8 cars showed up including my baby. i could here them talking who wants to run me 1st. this s2000 pulls up and he wanted to run me. from what i've heard his car runs in the 13s. ok, lined up with him, off the launch pulled about 1 car ahead of him. 2nd gear pulled real fast away from him, 4th gear i was close to ten cars ahead of him. NOT EVEN A RACE AT ALL..... came back this civic hatchback w/gsr motor lined up with me. funny, i did the same thing i did to the s2000 after that they were all quiet no talking. this youngster walks up to me and said, "you've got a fast car, especially in 2nd gear how fast you pulled away from those guy. i said thanks. now my brother is always talking smack to those guys about how i smoked both their cars. as of me, got alot of crap off my chest that night.   21. my ride is a 72 240zt.i bought a 280zx alternator(internal voltage regulator). the new alternator is installed in my car already. now i know the plug that plugs into the external regulator gets stripped and reconnected to one another. but i don't know which wire to whicw wire.please help me on my wiring to whom has done this upgrade on the early z. thanks...
  22. i need help on 85 maxima alternator upgrade for 72 240zt. does the plug that goes to the xternal v/g get use.also, how to wire up the wires that goes behind the 85 max alt
