  1. Boobboy, Check my posts and history with dyno'ing the Vette with various mods... It's pretty much a good baseline for what worked and what didn't with that particular configuration... In the end, it left my shop making 386WHP and 382#ft torque to the wheels and running 11.7s in the 1/4, while nocking down 27MPG on the hiway... My grief wasn't with the motor... But moreso with the configuration of the Vette drivetrain and doing repairs on the car in general... That motor rocks! Mike
  2. John, They're SELLING IT??? Holy Chit!!! Mike
  3. If Miatas were this fast off the showroom floor, I'd abought TWO!!! This little thing is deceptively fast... Mike
  4. Actually, The easy-up is where the patio and deck furnature/Grill are... it's a stone patio and bigger than my previous deck... We're surrounded by acres and acres of woods! Mike
  5. Go Here: http://photos.yahoo.com/dat74z Check the ///MMMMMM folder for the Roadster links Check the Our New Home album for pics of the new place... Mike
  6. John, Keep Mark away from your wife... We know his track record! Congrats on the find... Yesterday I drove from my home in Va. to CMP to meet a kid and buy a motorcycle... 915 miles round trip... Man that place is in the middle of NOWHERE!!! Mike
  7. Ah yes, the "blue devil... as it is being called.. This is old news and was reported last year... Mike
  8. I'll have to snap some better pics of the car... It's mint... There are no further mods being planned... This car is fast right out of the box and has been mildly modified to make about 20HP more than stock... Thing SCOOTS and reminds me of what a sports car should be... Mike
  9. ...So yesterday we finally closed on the sale of our old house, got together the funds for the car, and I trailered up to pick up the M roadster... Good thing I wasn't relying on the funds from the sale of the house... The wire transfer for the credit back to us from the sale won't be available for a few days... But we're done with the whole thing and I've got the new car here at the house. I'm off to the DMV to sit and wait in line for my tags... Mike

    Comparing Z-Cars

Weight is the ultimate factor. If you search in the various forums, you'll find that there are lots of little subtle things from model to model... for instance, the 240Z transitioned into the 280Z through the one model year known as the 74 260Z. That model was split between the 240 chassis (Noted by the early thin bumper) and the 280 chassis (noted by the big 5mph bumpers). Later 280 Chassis were heavier in the 77-78 model years than in the 75-76 model years. Door strikers are different depending on the model and year. Strut housings on all 240s were of the shorter and smaller diameter than the later 260 and 280 models. Stub axles were 27 spline on the R200 differential equipped cars... I could go on, but I'd recommend searching this site and reading as much as you possibly can to educate yourself before you commit to buying a specific car. Mike
  11. Damn John... THAT is a nice ride... I was looking at those this weekend... Sheesh... GORGIOUS... Mark, You better break out the watch dogs... I smell a blackbag job in the works... Mike

Bottom line is you need to be a member of the PINKS sub-forum... There are members who were permanently banned because of conduct long after the show... No need to post Jeremy's long, sad story... Everyone in the PiNKS forum knows the deal... Mike

It was a good show and a good representation... Sad that it had to end with the criminal conducted and Mike (on3go's) conduct... the vandalizm of the car, and man... Just the last four months... It's kind of a fog... Mike
  15. Moridin, The trails are pretty much east coast singletrack. About 2-3ft. wide and twisting between the trees... nothing like the riding I've done out west... Mike
  16. Michael, Other than the 1/4 acre of grass and the minimal land scaping, I'm litteraly sitting in a forest... Once the trails are built, I'm prety much DONE maintaining the acreage... Mike
  17. So yesterday I had about 40 people show up at our new place for a birthday roasting for the 40 years I've walked the earth... DragonFly from here showed up, as he was in town from San Diego, as did Jim McNemar w/his beautiful GT3 Porsche. We had a shindig that ran from 4PM until about midnight, and grilled chicken, steak, hamburgers, hot dogs, Shrimp, and a lot of side dished... The wife bought me a new tool box, that my business partner delivered, and I got an assortment of gag gifts from friends and family. My mother brought me a fifth of moonshine from a local distiller and we had a lot of fun taking shots of it with beer chasers... This morning, after my wife and I cleaned up the place, and rearranged the house/ yard/ stuff, I started working on a mountain bike trail. I removed an old wire mesh fence that had been used for a dog run by the previous owners. Then I fired up the weed eater and started going into the woods and cutting trail.... BIG MISTAKE... Apparently BEES don't like the noise of weedeaters... I managed to get out of the woods and to the house with only EIGHT stings from a swarm of yellow jackets... Man, the little bastages lit me up... OUCH!! Thanks to all for the well wishes, and forty isn't so bad! Mike
  18. UHhuh, Mike C... I have one for my wife and I'm actually considering buying another one as a daily driver until I decide what I'll buy to replace the Vette... I'm a confirmed convert of the E36...Amazing and capable little car... Mike
  19. Wheelman, Forget the MR2... Noisy as heck, and the seats are junks... We had one for my stepson and the interior noise was absolutely unreal on interstates... It was a very good handling and braking car, but the noise and the seat bolster metal supports made it a bad choice for any kind of driving beyond around town... Loved our 95Mustang, and kick myself now for selling it... They handle well, have tons of cheap hop up parts, get decent mileage (24-26mpg in our modified 5.0 GT) and have good styling... The IS300 is a nice ride for sure, but I don't think you'll get one for less than $12000-14000 and that would be for a used and abused model... Mike
  20. Thanks Much Gang... I'm drinking a cold one and raising it in much appreciation for the Bday Wishes! Mike
  21. Dale, I'll be more than happy to discuss this offline, but an official statement is forthcoming... There was GOOD CAUSE for this, and most of you aren't aware of the goings on. Mike Kelly
  22. We typically don't do this kind of thing... Once in a while when someone has been so disrespectful, we'll post it and make sure everyone understands why. However, By and large, it really doesn't serve a purpose. What you guys need to know is that, although we don't always agree, and some of us certainly don't get along, we don't ban people for just having a difference of opinion. If that was the case, half the board would be gone! As long as members follow the rules posted in a sticky above every forum category, things go well... When people lose their objectivity and get personal, that's when things go wrong... Mike Kelly
  23. I had no issues with the framerail interfering with your feet. If done properly, the rail is not far into the interior of the car at all, and if covered with carpet, you won't notice it at all... Mike
  24. I've helped build Pete's style and have them in my personal project car right now... I've also got a set of BadDog rails on hand as well... I can tell you that if you don't want to go the complex route of Pete's, which are the strongest, but also the most involved, You can't go wrong using the BadDog rails... They are well made and very strong when installed properly. Mike Kelly
