  1. This has been an 8 week ordeal for this poor schmuck, friend of mine... Sheesh... I was looking forward to seeing Pete's haggard, broken down self at my party this weekend... now I kinda feel sorry for him! Just bustin' chops man, Call me if you need anything... Damn, You're making me feel young! Mike
  2. I'm still looking... Not sure, but I do want a convertible... I have seen decent prices on the XLR... Don't know... Also looking at lder M roadsters as a cheaper alternative... Mike
  3. Mark, What was the going rate on the shop/room?? Mike
  4. Yea, Watching Jody's incar videos is an education all by itself... http://www.bigpinekey.org/ Mark, Hopefully I'll be out there by Fall... Jamie is spread thin with his own stuff and working on my car too! Mike
  5. l28et, Let's try this one on for size... Based on post history, We're right this very minute discussing banning you... Congrats, You've made our "watch" list... Tread lightly or go elsewhere to play... Oh, And there's no debate on this one... And since the issue over the spoiler has been resolved, this one gets locked! Mike Kelly Administrator
  6. Enjoy it while you can... Word has it that Ecclestein (SP?) doesn't plan to continue in the US after 2007... I read a qoute form him on another board about their not needing the US market, and that the headache and worry for lawsuite negated fan loyalty... Paraphrasing there, but it doesn't sound like Bernie wants us to play! I'm a huge fan of the sport, but hat the leadershipfrom within F1... Mike
  7. Imagine shinning a blacklight around inside that Cadi... Mike
  8. So I'm gonna order the koni singles this week. Who has the best price and availability guys??? Mike
  9. So I'm gonna order the koni singles this week. Who has the best price and availability guys??? Mike
  10. I've never really been a fan of the NSX, and I was given a ride around Road Atlanta in one... They do handle well, but the power wasn't there as I remember not being WOW'ed with it...It isn't even in consideration for me. Mike
  11. Guy, The C5s required a fair amount of specialty tools as well... Which kinda surprised me... As for what the car will be used for... I'll drive it every day to where I'm currently working, and to business meetings. Costs... Right now I can get used 2003-2005 Vipers from $53,000 to 68,000. Vettes can be had all day long for around $38-42K used stock, and new you can get them for under $46,000. M3s are $60K new, and used hold their value well into the $50sK. Porsche 2002-2004 911 Cabrios are going from the low $40s to the high 60s. I haven't even priced the MBs yet. Mike
  12. I wasn't referring to the Z06, Actually... It's a bad ride, but has some first and possibly second year teething issues, AND it's gonna be priced quite high for one more year... I'd settle for this for a Vette as a replacement... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1424800 This particular C6 Has been on my lift at the old place and is well done... I only need two seats, as we've got the wife's bimmer and my quad cab truck for more than two people hauling. This vehicle purchase is strictly for "me" and should reflect what we've accomplished w/ the company... Every single car on the list is overkill, guys... I know this. But all are well within reach. The question is "should I"? Mike
  13. Since We've sold the 450BHP Vette, and now that the old house is under contract, the big question is what to replace the daily driver with? This car will most likely not be used on track, and will be my daily car to go to work/ meetings in. Snow and rain will be the only time it won't be driven, and like with everything else, I'll be hard on it, just like I was the C5... So what say You??? Mike
  14. ...My investment broker, My CPA, My business partner, pretty much everyone except the realistate agents... So we bought the new place (new pics to come, I swear!) and we hadn't even SOLD our place yet... Didn't even know if we could afford both at the same time...But some how, we did. I sold the Vette, paid off a few bills, and prestow! We qualified to keep the $1700 mortgage AND get another $4000 in mortgage! My big thing was being able to time a move appropriately so we could control the situation...And we did, but it was backbreacking... So we close, we move into the new place, and in the middle of that, we have a BUNCH of work done to the old place at the same time. We do everything needed to really spruce it up good, and it almost made me want to cry the day I packed the last box and moved out... That place deserved better than I gave, and it got it, just as we were leaving! So it goes on the market last Monday. And I'm hearing all this doom and gloom about the market, and how homes are sitting longer, and how it's a buyer's market... And it sits... And for two weeks, it still sits, until today... We got an offer for the full asking price from a couple who lived in South Carolina who is here w/ the Navy And who have their house sold... They want the house and they want to close by July 28th... This is AWESOME!!! Talk about sweating everyone's critisisms and doom and gloom scenarios... Man... Mike
  15. Not sure, but I'm guessing it's all over the 6Cylinder application. Mike
  16. You gotta PM on the camber plates... MIke
  17. Actually Yes, I do away with the bearing setup and the Mcleod Bellhousing and go with the setup Pete Got from Sonic, which included the other style Tilton bearing. But I've got what Iv'e got now... No biggie... Mike
  18. It depends on what you want... The Keisler Bellhousing isn't SFI approved... I think the Sonic setup that PeteP bought was a better deal personally... Gets more ground clearance, and was probably about $150 cheaper... The TKO600 is a beast of a tranny and really well done... I'm not gonna be concerned running it behind the 383 stroker... Mike
  19. Welcome to the world of Datsun motorswapping... Not many of these cars sells for more than about $8-10K and once in a blue moon you'll see one go for up to $15K, but it is rare, and honestly those cars are in a different league of fit and finish... I know it sucks to hear it man, I was there once, and will be again someday I bet. Mike
  20. http://www.swracecars.com is where I bought mine... Mike
  21. I purchased fuel filler hose I bought from http://www.racerpartswholesale.com Bill, if I buy a Pcar, It'll be a 997 GT3 or a 996 Convertible... Mike
  22. Bill, All I can say it my little start-up is doing better than I'd ever imagined, and since we sold the Vette, I simply must have something to replace it as my daily driver... Something atleast on par w/ the 99C5... That's all I'm saying as of now... Something is definitely in the works though... Once the other house sells and I'm not paying TWO mortgages, life will be MUCHO BETTA MAN!!! Mike
  23. Someone asked about why no door locks or hatch latches... This car is going to be a Track day car and may eventually be entered in NASA's unlimited class for racing. We're not 100% sure of what else it will be used for, but the intent is NOT to drive it on the street more than the occassional tesk drive to shake down parts... I'll tag it with antique tags, and all the lights and turnsignals will work. It'll have a windshield and rear hatch Lexan, otherwise there is no hardware for the doors, as the cage bars extend out into the doors. There may be some naca ducting in the 1/4 windows in the future, but as of now, there is no plan for real glass in the car. There will also not be any heat or A/C. This car is going to be a light weight track car, and 90% of the suspension and brakes are already inhouse ready to be installed or already installed. It has a fuel cell, and will have my 383 stroker/ TKO600 tranny in it, along with the infinity rear, custom axles, and all the other goodies associated w/ my list of parts acquired over the years. But it will be 95% track day car, and will be used as often as I can get to the track... Which I'm shooting for 1 weekend per month, somewhere on the east coast. Summit Point, VIR, CMS, MidOhio, Beaverun, Roebling Road, and Road Atlanta are in my sites... Mike
