  1. I'll call ati this week and get the dimensions straight and then order it.. the cell is in my car already, so I just need to plumb it and make some tubing to reach the filler neck on the factory filler, from the 45 Degree neck I have for the setup! I'll keep you guys posted. Mike
  2. On Jim McNemar's car, we just installed and plumbed in a Fuel Safe fuel cell that is specifically designed for fuel injection use. This system has the baffles and intank sump system similar to the ATL... I've got the Summit racing Red fuel cell setup ($169), which is very similar to the Fuel Safe systems, and this ATL black box WILL be purchased for my setup since I was looking for alternative solutions to the external setup Tim has... This ATL unit COMES WITH a 100PSI fuel pump... So for the $389 price, you are also getting a REALLY NICE pump and fittings! I'm impressed! Mike
  3. Larry, I've got a set of edlebrock valve covers and a flex fan I can send you... PM me an address I can send it to... Mike
  4. They look the same, but keep in mind the flare has to be built out and blended in once it is bonded to the body of the car... So your flare (Any Flare) will require this build up that will change the shape a little bit. Mike
  5. Yea, My wife is WAY easy to get along with too. She got a good laugh at that link... I think it has to do with how comfortable your spouse is with you and how much they trust you! My wife also is a realist... She knows I look at other women, and I admire them just as I do other people's nice cars... Maturety and common sense go a long way to making a happy relationship, from both sides of the fence! I wouldn't trade her for 20 of the hottest women in the world... I Love my wife! Mike
  6. Amsoil makes a good system as well that I can get you at a reasonable price, since I'm an amsoil dealer... I have the Accusump unit and it works well too! The added advantage of these AMSOIL or CANTON Accusump is that they also provide fresh oil to the pump pickup at the filter IF you have a presure drop under hard driving conditions/ high G cornering! Mike
  7. Well as I stated before, There are a number of factors that are individually and geographically based. We can all make guesses, but the kids only going to get the right answer from an insurance agent. If he gets on his parents policy, it will be about 1/3rd what it would be on his own, assuming his parents have good credit and aren't already assigned high risk... Also, Zip code has a LOT to do with it... If your area is considered one where high property damage/ high fatalility rates exist, then as a new driver, it may be higher still because of those factors. You also stand as good a chance of taking the total number of posts in this thread, pulling the individual numbers of those members who posted more than once, pull the favorites, buying a lottery ticket and playing those numbers! Welcome to the world of being responsible... Mike
  8. Matt... My saying is "15 minutes and a GOOOOOOOD NAP!" You made me and the wife BOTH laugh! Mike
  9. When I was looking at selling my ZX9R I was considering replacing it with a.... SV650. Lots of experienced riders move to smaller, less powerful bikes on the race track to help them focus on becoming a faster rider. With a less powerful bike, you become forced to carry more entry and exit speed in the corners, making you MUCH smoother and faster in the long run! SV650 is an AWESOME ride! Mike
  10. Guy I ride with regularly had a sweet 1998 Bandit 1200 Streetfighter he sold on Ebay... Bike was a beast... NIce platform.. I've thought about taking my ZX9R and turning it into one, but I track it and the body work helps with aerodynamics. So I guess I'll leave it alone! Mike
  11. Sparks280ZT, That isn't true... It is $1800 for you for liability... My stepson had $412 per year on anything 1990 or older that was not considered a current sports car. We even priced a 260Z for him, as I had a line on one back then and was contemplating buying it. He was put on our policy as the primary driver for our 1990 Civic HF, as his MR2 was going to be $1200 FULL COVERAGE for him... But within 32 days the MR2 was totalled and he was driving the civic for good... Insurance went from $412 to $1650 for just liability after that one accident, which he wasn't convicted for... He got community service and was allowed to have the ticket drop off his record... Every case and every state is different... Every policy is based on individual or household. Mike
  12. And to add instult to injury, Insurance companies base rates also on how good the credit of the "Family" Is. I got a ding on the premium when my wife, who had been involved in a bankruptcy (Due to divorce ONLY) got her policy and mine combined. "Just another way they screw you at the drive thru!" Mike
  13. Just got off the phone yesterday with the guys working on Jims S&S header/ Canton RR Pan/ Lakewood Bellhousing combo... It is giving them FITS... the external Slave is interfering with the header fitment. The clutch for is interfering with the header fitment... Ton of frustration on their end in making all this work for the sake of HOW MUCH (?) extra HP. Damn I wish someone would make something like TIM made and SELL it in mass production... I'd have two sets sold YESTERDAY! Mike
  14. Kershaw? Private deal... ??? How private??? Mike
  15. The things I've learned from this thread... Scottie had a reputation? (J/K) Ross finally has Rear control arms? (J/K) John will be trying out for some ASA team in the not so distant future... (J/K Maybe not?) Art can really drive? REALLY??? Jon M. Stepped in it unintentionally! This was a great post... Now if I could ONLY VIEW THE FREAKIN' VIDEO from WORK! Mike
  16. Let me add a little more to this particular aspect... My stepson is 17 and just had his SECOND accident in 12.5 months. His insurance premium for one year PRIOR to Sunday's second accident was $1650 per year for liability only coverage on a 1990 Honda Civic Hatch. We were told yesterday that his insurance will increase a minimum of 20% and will increase MORE, depending on the outcome of the trial... He will pay inflated insurance rates until he is 25 years old, regardless of his future driving record... He is now effectively financially burdened beyond what a 17 year old can afford. We were paying his insurance (Actually his mother was, I quit assisting after the first accident a year ago) and now he will be required to get a better job, if he plans to drive at all. I have minimal sympathy because I was there and had to pay the dues at his age... But the message here to all our young drivers is to look at the big picture... My stepson had visions of a really cool car after graduation... Now, he is looking at liability insurance costs of well over $2400 per year (Assuming his reckless driving ticket is plead down to improper driving.) and THAT will likely go up with another incident or ticket. Forget buying something really nice, and reliable with low mileage. The sad reality hit him last night when I told him that he was at a crossroads: Get his act together or he would be forced to move in with his real father... It hit him hard coming from me, because I've always fought to keep him with us, as we are a more stable home life... For me to say I was at my breaking point was a big deal to him. Before you hop in the car and mash the gas, you might want to figure out what a reckless driving ticket will cost you in increased premiums alone. When you weigh that cost against the price of a track event for a weekend, you'll clearly see the advantage to planning weekends at your local road course... It makes the 3.5 hour drive to VIR worth it in the end. My recommendation is to buy yourself a truck, and start driving it around. Prep your car for autoX or track days, and plan to PUTT around on the street in whatever you drive... It simply isn't worth it to drive "Spirited" anymore... Populations in most areas in this country are growing more and more dense, and with that increase grows more intolerance by our law enforcement. They simply are less likely to give verbal warnings and more likely to write tickets or break out the cuffs... And the end result is increased premiums. It simply isn't worth it... Not anymore. Mike
  17. Come on in guys and have a beer...
  18. Very cool indeed! Welcome! Mike
  19. Well I sacreficed one of my headers to Jim's project today since the right side header we ordered got a little TOO hot in the process of trying to fit it around and collapsing the pipe at the pan... That tubing is WAY THIN Jody so be careful when you guys heat up the pipes. I agree that it should be built around the Lakewood and Canton pan. Mike
  20. I'd be up for it and if they perform and have better clearance, I could probably talk Jim into them as well..> Sooner the better, since we are moving close to fabricating his exhaust... On the S&S front, If you are using a Canton Oil pan, YOU MUST cut the pan because the header won't bend enough to get around it... I'm becoming less and less impressed with these S&S headers... They are functional... But... Mike
  21. Well we're only talking 23 pounds difference and the scales could be calibrated differently enough to account for a large portion of that... So we know a 73 bone stock weighs in at Roughly 2450#. Mike
  22. Turns out... I went a complete different route... Mike
  23. Question: "Are the moderators and admins really Pricks, or are they just having a bad millenium?" Oh, and Bartman, Hell of a Job on that FAQ... You convinced me... You got the job of creating one for the site... Everyone send their tech articles over to bartman and he'll Pu them into the proper catagory... (Everyone else steps back two GIANT steps!) Hahahahaha! Mike
  24. Victoria Brittish and MSA sell the Tblock that bolts in at the rear of the car, splitting the rear left and right side... Get a couple of those Ts and to away with the valves and lines below the master and on the firewall... Mike
  25. There is a lot of misconception and mis-information about what you are and aren't liable for when receiving a bogus form of payment. Being that my wife is THE FRAUD Investigation interface between her employer (Naval Surface Warfare Center Federal Credit Union) and the federal gov't, I'll defer to her for the "Right" answer and post it later... Bottom line is telling the guy to piss off is certainly one of the "better" options, as killing time with some tool who is trying to swindle you out of car and cash is certainly on the list of things I don't like doing... somewhere close to self mutilation and standing nickles on end! However, if you receive funds in good faith, and deposit them unknowingly, you are not acting with criminal intent and won't go to jail... you WOULD have to give the money back though... Mike
