  1. I'll take it under consideration... We will be hosting an event, probably June time-frame this year, so we can get folks in with their cars, and we'll have the lift completely functional, as well as the electricity in by then I'm sure. I'll let others speak for themselves about coming down to hang out that weekend... I'm game for it! We could fire up the grill and Chill... I'm always up for HybridZ company! Mike
  2. Well we finished painting this weekend... You can still see seams, and you can still see some booboos... Oh well, screw it, it is a garage. I hung some stuff on the walls and moved one shelf in around all the mess and building supply crap. I'll be moving stuff around, cleaning up, and moving the rest of my stuff this week. I want to be moved OUT of the other garage completely by first full week of March. I still don't have electricity, but I'm gonna call and yell at Va. Power again today... Mike
  3. Caution should seriously be given to these coatings as well... Although I've had SOME success with POR15, it isn't the be-all, end-all for rust fighting... Quite frankly, I'm not impressed with it. I can't speak about Zebart, but I suspect it isn't as good as its sales pitches either. Mike
  4. I think Terry's comments are spot on. You will more likely than not create a place for moisture to collect and cause more serious rusting issues. You might be successfull doing it, but do you really want to take the chance with your Z? Mike
  5. Nope, not all were INTERNALLY balanced, which is what I found when I started researching small block chevys the first time I built the 383. Mike
  6. Thanks Mike C.! I'm in touch with CAT as we speak... I'll post when I find out what they have... They have two listed for $100 and $105, but I suspect they aren't for internal balance applications. We'll see! Mike
  7. Damn Pete, and you say I'M on here all the time... You GO GIRL! Mike
  8. Scottie, Hope it works out for you. Just don't work at it too hard... One issue I am guilty of is not knowing when to throw in the towel... In somethings that is a great asset. In relationships it isn't a good thing to have. You are young, and you will make mistakes along the way. However, I have learned more about myself, and learned more about how I should treat others AFTER break ups and when I'm alone for a period of time. Good luck and take care! Mike
  9. Aaron, Hilti bolts have an insert. You drill the holes in the floor and install the insert sleeve. Then you move the post back in place lining up the holes, then bolt it down in place. Realy quite simple, and does away with the need to dig a hole and pour new concrete! Terry, you crack me up man! Mike
  10. You do realize that the proper steel flares made for the Z are only a little more... $400 per pair, front and rear... VB sells them! Mike
  11. Well this little snow storm allowed my lovely wife and I to get the mudding touch ups, the sponging, and the trim work done. If I can stave off this head cold I'm fighting, I'll prime the whole thing tonight, and shoot it tomorrow night. Then I'll move my stuff in over the coming weekend. I've paid the electrical company to connect my service, but I'm still waiting... I'll also go ahead and bolt down the lift over the next few days! Hilti Bolts are your friend! Next, we'll hang the lights and switches/ outlets... Mike
  12. Guys, I need to get a flywheel sent out to my builder. Looking for a 153 tooth internal balance SBC flywheel (Preferably SFI rated). Cheaper is better... Mike
  13. A number of us have non-sectioned coil overs... You only need to section them if you are seriously worried about getting full travel on a vehicle that is lowered MUCH more than you are planning... If you want to give yourself a little extra room, just take the upper strut isolator and pull it appart and shave 3/8th-1/2 inch off the rubber, then put it all back together... My plan is to gut the rubber all together and install a monoball setup which will give me an extra inch to lower the car and not lose stroke. Mike
  14. John, I wish you could have had a few days with my arm... Williams didn't come through for me for a change... I need to get with him and get my arm back... Mike
  15. More importantly, and this is one thing I regret in my own relationships, Don't waste your life away trying to make someone else happy. The key, the real answer to successfull relationships is each person loving the other equally as much, and wanting to be with each other equally... Mutual respect, and the strongest of admiration for the one you love (And the one that loves you!) is the key... If one person in the relationship wants to toss in the towel, what does it say for that balance and mutual respect? Life is so short, and 70 years (Or 90 if you are lucky?) isn't long... I look at life as half lived, since I'm 36 and sometimes wonder how I will live the 2nd half. I do know this... I burned up way too much time on people best left to someone else's time... I know life plays out for a reason. That we all find our eventual mates for reason's unknown, or unforeseen. However, having loved as I have for the last few years, knowing what I was missing... Now that is tragic... Thank god I found it when I did. Mike
  16. Actually it is a little more complicated... Angelo also wants someone to BUILD his motor and also Install a FORD 9inch in the car as well. Did I mention he also want the motor to make 600HP? He's gonna need advice from the masses here at HybridZ guys! Mike
  17. Scotty, There are several of us on this board who have lived the EXACT relationship you are describing... Life is too short dude. If you find yourself always saying I'm sorry for things you aren't at fault for, or getting reeled into fights just for the sake of argument, then trust me... RUN! I'm 36, and have about 11 years more experience... You say you've been with this girl for 4 years, and you are 25... Trust me, You haven't lived yet. You've been an adult for 7 years. Four of that have been with someone who pushes your buttons... The last girl I dated seriously before I met my wife was that exact person. She would bring out an argument in me in no time... When things were good they were great, not just good... But getting through all the "I'm Sorry's" just so she would ease up... It wasn't worth it. Having been in a VERY healthy, and rewarding relationship for 4 years now, I can't stress enough the importance in finding the "RIGHT" Mate. Hanging on to someone for the sake of the time invested isn't the answer... My current wife (And I've only been married once in my life) and I haven't had ONE single argument in four years. That my friend is heaven. These are bitter pills to swallow Scottie, but I waisted 3 years of my life in a relationship that I should have left at the door... I look back now and wish someone would have told me what I just told you... Take care. Mike
  18. Couple of things... I think your relationship is toast. She likes dancing, you don't. You argue over money, She wasn't considerate enough to come check on you and let you know she was OK, every 15-30 minutes... I suspect the list goes on. You shouldn't have picked a fight with the drunk. You guys are in a BAR where DRUNKS will hit on anything moving... WRONG ANSWER. I'm sure there are two sides to the story, but from what I've read in your posts, there seem to be some more fundamental issues that you two won't be able to work out. Sounds like you want to settle down and NOT go to places where singles hang out and SHE wants to go to those places where singles go... Respect for each other is probably waining right now as well... I had a girlfriend once for 6 months, Right after I got back from Bosnia. There was an 8 year difference in our ages... I was 30 and she was 22 with a body like Shania Twain's and the hair and face to match. She had a little girl that was 6 months old when we meet and I was crazy about both of them. However, Kim wanted to party way to much and I was past that phase in my life. She drank too much and then had the bad habbit of getting behind the wheel and driving home... Real dumb and average 22 year old behavior, unfortunately. I liked dancing, but not every weekend and during the week... Some time later I found out (Long after we broke up) that she was going to these clubs and teasing some of her old boy friends, and putting herself in situations that would cause the bouncers to have to break up fights... She loved the attention her body and looks drew from the guys, and it would end up causing problems, because she played on it... I called it quits. Your girlfriend told you she wanted to break up... Give her the space, and go get your head screwed on straight... Four years is a long time, and it will take a while to get over her. But you should move on and try to find someone who will be more compatible with your lifestyle and direction. My $.02 Mike
  19. Good rate JIm... I'll have to hunt some more... If I can get 5.65 or better I'll be super happy... With the garage I expect to assess at about 200K! Not bad, since my initial finance was for 126K four years ago! Oh yea, and we're at that 18 inch to 2 foot mark as well! Mike
  20. Just finished the sponging, touching up and doing the trim at the bottom of the walls... I'll pick up more trim and finish that phase out if this snow ever stops... We're expecting another 6-10 inches on top of the 6 we already have... This sucks... I could have been completely DONE with trimming and had it primed by tomorrow evening... Mike
  21. We're both sore as hell today... I'll take some pics and get them up soon... Sponging the walls instead of sanding is the way to go... NO DUST, and it just goes so much faster and leaves such a smooth finish! Mike
  22. ...Your wife sponging the walls and ceiling of your garage with you so you can paint it by next weekend... We did the WHOLE garage minus about 15ft. of seems... I have a few small areas to patch and I should be ready to prime by the end of the day tomorrow... Monday is a holiday for me, so guess what I'll be doing??? I should be ready to install the lights and electrical bits when Va. Power gets around to connecting me... I'd like to refinance by the end of the month, being that my current lender is offering me a sweet deal to refinance without any out of pocket expenses or stupid charges, and at 5.65%!! Did I mention that my wife is the most increadible female I know... Mike
  23. Mark 8AN is 1/2 inch... Yup, couplers are fine! Just let me know what I owe you! Mike
  24. We could do it at my place if you can hold off for about 30 days. And I'll be happy to Spend your $1000! Send me an e-mail... The one stipulation is YOU help me... It may save you some cash... Do your research first and make absolutely sure we have everything we need. Mike
  25. I need 1/2 inch braded line... Enough to run from the trunk/ Fuel Cell to the Motor/ Regulator. Mike
