  1. I just took all the wheel spacers off my back wheels (2001 Ford Mustang Silver 5 stars) except for the 1/2 inch spacer and MAN, the 245-40s fit perfect... I went ahead and lowered the coils all the way down and it looks SOOO Tough... Might have to forego the flares and suffer the traction... This car would look soo sweet with the Gnose and some silver metalic paint! I get connected tomorrow and will have power to the garage!!! Pics later.. Mike
  2. Neil, I'm game for it... Mike
  3. Guys, I'm gonna be down south in sunny Ft. Lauderdale Next week, flying in Monday evening and staying until next Saturday. My wife has training Tuesday through Thursday so I'll have the days WIDE OPEN! Anyone want to get together and cabits over Zcars and HybridZ??? What is there to do in Lauderdale this time of the year... How can one kill time... Give me some places to go and things to do guys... And I'll have my cell phone with me... Contact me here or at my e-mail if anyone wants to hook up... Mike
  4. ... Friday they are coming out to HOOK ME UP!!! I will finally have electric power, and that means I'm within 30 days of pulling a final. OH BABY! Yea, I still have the whole upstairs to finish, but that won't take long once the stairs go in. Man I can't wait. The lift should be operational by next weekend... You guys want to start planning for a HybridZ MID ATLANTIC SHINDIG to celebrate the new shop??? Mike
  5. This brings back painfull memories of last summer... The Honda Civic was down with a fuel pump relay issue, My truck left me stranded due to what turned out to be heat soaked battery cables, and as I was leaving my sub-division on my motorcycle to get gas in it for the drive to work next day, guess what it does??? RUNS OUT OF GAS due to a fuel leak... I own SIX Cars and all were down except my wife's Mustang! To add insult to injury I had to PUSH the bike a little over a half mile and during the push the roll back with my truck on it drove right past me, and dropped the NOW RUNNING TRUCK in my driveway... Wires had time to "Cool Off"! Talk about coming un-glued... It was a bad day to say the least... I feel your pain! Mike
  6. Well today had its successes and its failures... I got all the big stuff, including my ZX9R and the Z into the new garage, as well as all my tools and almost all fo my mutliple boxes of crap. I didn't get the lift into place because the bolts I bought were TOO BIG! Oh well, so much for using my mic to gage the size of the bolt holes... 3/4 inch units will be obtained tomorrow and the unit will be bolted in by the weekend. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll have the power turned on by the weekend! Jamie T. came up and picked up his flares from me and saw my mess... Still have some shelving to hang... But I'm getting there! Mike
  7. Trust me, ther eis a reason I have "Step-Children"... I don't mean that to be as bad as it sounds... I never really wanted to have kids of my own, knowing the pain in the a$$ I must have been to my parents... I'm just glad My kids and I have a good relationship... Getting them jumpstarted to "Help" me with something is tough. Funny thing is, once I get them out of the house and away from the PS2, WE have a good time working together. Kids... Mike
  8. Jim, YOu just need to make sure that you have a thick enough PAD of concrete... They recommend a 6 inch thick slab if you are going with a 9000-10000# unit...I had a 6 inch thick 3500PSI Fibermesh pad poured. You then need some HILTI bolts that will be used to secure it once you drill the holes in the concrete. Mike
  9. Terry, He helps. JUst not as often as I'd like. He says I don't ask, and I say I get static when I do ask... I was pleasently surprised when I asked him to shovel the drive way and side walks of snow and found them both done on Friday. Mike
  10. Not that I'm aware of... If they do, I'll just get rid of the chemicals for the inspection. This is a private home garage, so I hope not... Mike
  11. Well I'm over half way into the moving In phase... Got my welding station set up, got some of the shelves mounted on the walls, got my large cabinets set up, one of my work benches and all of my extra steel moved. I have all my chemicals moved, but still need to hang more shelves and move LOTS more boxes. I'll do that all this afternoon... I also have to get a set of TC Rods boxed up for one of our members... and drill some holes for another set of tc rod brackets for another member... I think I'll have enough stock to make up another couple of front arms and rods if someone wants a front setup.. I'll move the rest of this weekend, and hopefully bolt down my lift if I hook up with my neighbor with the hammer drill... $150 for Hilti bolts... Mike
  12. Ah You very funny man... Now get your ass up here and help me move! Mike
  13. Being a V8 Z guy, I'll absolutely stand behind this comment: A 13B Single OR twin turbo conversion would ABSOLUTELY go toe to toe with all but the most radical V8 conversions... Having ridden in a properly done conversion unit, I can attest to the fact that they are SCARY FAST! Alex, Do it... You won't be disapointed! Mike
  14. Doug, Linky no worky... Tease... Mike
  15. Well he came to me yesterday afternoon and "Dicsussed" what he wants and he (In typical 15 year old logic) was upset with the fact that I wouldn't put a V8 in it until he proved himself to be much more responsible and mature... So He'll either think about that, or get mad and NOT want a Z... I did remind him that his brother's car project is getting off the ground as HE turns 18 and is ready to graduate high school... That sunk in I guess... Mike
  16. Mine is 15 and will be driving next year... We will shop over the summer, but he won't be getting a transplant motor until he proves he is mature enough... Long way to go there... Mike
  17. As previously mentioned, Keep in mind the weight savings of doing the B13 in a Zcar... This would be the ultimate way to go if planning to compete in an unlimeted class for autocross or NASA... You could get the Z down to around 1700# with a B13 TT setup and Lexan windows.... Mike
  18. Pete, I've got another quesation.... What has you so hung up on THAT cam profile? What is your aversion to above .500 inch lift cams?? Mike
  19. Craig told my wife this afternoon that he wants a Z like mine... And he wants me to put a V8 in it... I think I've created a monster... I wasn't home at the time either... Gee, would be nice to HEAR that I'm having such an impact on him! Mike
  20. Nope, Jim I haven't installed the new one yet. With the snow I just went home to check it last night and found the water gone. Later in the evening I saw evidence of water on the relief valve and a little moisture on the wood below the valve which lead me to believe that the valve is the culprit. I will lower the temp on the unit first to see if that is the case. It does have an expansion tank on it. My home is only 15 years old, so I suspect most of the recent code changes from the ealry 80's apply to my home... I WILL be swapping this thing out, but I'm moving into the other garage as long as this HWH holds up... Mike
  21. OK, now I'm totally confused... All water is GONE and I start moving more stuff into the new garage. Later I find a little moisture and VERy little water just below the bypass valve/ overflow valve... What is that all about? I don't think the unit is leaking... I think the bypass valve is burping it out... Is this normal??? Mike
  22. Also Check the DART PRO1s... Their port volume isn't bad... 'course I'm running the 215cc runner 76cc chamber straight plug head (205/160 valves), which may be different that what you are looking for, but I'd look at ALL your options before you jump in... Lots of chunks of aluminum floating around out there... Mike
  23. OK, this has already been done, and it is a VERY good combo... Zdr. of Roanoke, Va. had one of these in their stable and the car was the SCARIEST streetcar I had ridden in until I built my own V8Z, and quite honestly, I'm not sure his still wasn't faster... I tried to buy that car from Rob at Z Dr., then from Z Doc's brother, but could never get them to budge... VERY potent Vehicle! Mike
  24. ...Found my hot water heater leaking tonight... It is going going... Not quite gone... Anyone ever replaced a gas hot water heater before?? How complex is it? On the plus side I did get a couple of shelves hung and managed to put a bad hole in the wall in my nice new paint on the garage... Moving in slowly... Mike
