  1. Dude that's genius! I hate my mirrors and would think something like that would be a lot more beneficial. By the way, Nice video. Congrats on the win! Mike
  2. They arrived today Keith!! Look damned good too! Thanks for selling them to me! Mike
  3. I ended up buying RebekahsZ set for what he had in it. Mike
  4. So I'm going on 48 hours since my little surgical procedure. Man I hurt. Lots of pain and soreness in the stomach/abdomine. Really sore. Meanwhile I'm trying to sort out the LSx build while trying to prepare to market/sell the 383 stroker, which the shortblock should be done and back at my place later this week. Ugh, this whole surgery thing has put a damper on the whole schedule for the fall... TWO weeks restriction to picking up nothing heavier than 20 pounds really sux. Mike
  5. Or buy my 383 stroker/bits for a serious good time... Mike
  6. Sunny, With those posted dates you can gleen that... A: I have decided to compete in the car in a given class, which changes that statement about 400 HP. B: I need enough HP to make me competitive in NASA's ST1 class eventially. The Time Trial equivelent still carries the same power to weight ratio. Mike
  7. If you want to drive to my place and pick it up, you can HAVE a rear hatch with glass in it. I'm in Virginia. Mike
  8. I'm in Spotsylvania, Just a few minutes west of Fredericksburg. My experience with weight and these cars has shown that 60 pounds is pretty big deal. Last year we were shocked to find that the car was 2709#. I've since done a LOT to get the weight down in to the sub 2600 pound range, but I've spent a ton of coin in the process. The whole purpose of going with the LS motor is to take advantage of the aluminum block and weight savings which has shown here to be about 102 pounds. Mike
  9. 400Whp is not an option. I'm trying to prepare for class competition that requires 5.5:1 ratio of weight to power. I need 500WHP minimum. Mike
  10. Seriosly thinking about unloading the LS1 Shortblock and just buying something built. Mike
  11. Big thanks to Keith aka RebekahsZ for selling me his custom Longtubes for the LS platform. I'll put them to good use with a set of AFR heads, FAST 90MM intake/Tbody and a custom cam. Looks like that will be the combo for the LS1. Mike
  12. Starting to spend money guys, so now is the time for recommendations... Mike
  13. Anyone had it done? Thinking about upping the cubes on the LS1 we're building... Sooo... Anyone done it? Mike
  14. Sooooo I just lost 15 minutes of my life reading all 21 pages of this thread... Couple of comments... 16 wheel HP on HEADERS alone is what I would have expected. When I had my C5 Corvette this was exactly what we would have expected. We did a header/Z06 Intake/software tune and picked up 40 Wheel HP on an LS1. It's a known combo, so why anyone would poopoo headers producing anything over 20HP on their own is ridiculous. We would also have expected as others have stated that we'd be upgrading heads/cam/intake/tune later to make the header upgrade really shine. And this next comment is going to piss some of you off, but it's true. $825 is a STEAL for good quality custom headers. Bitching about the price per performance gained is sad, but seems to be the norm here on HybridZ. I'm doing my research right now and I'm trying to decide what route to go for headers on my LS1/heads/cam/ARE drysump build. I'd love to get a pair of these for my little 1976 280Z, but I don't want to wait a year, and I don't want to deal with unresponsive shops. So was this just a "You guys didn't meet the full agreed to group buy order of 20, so I'm not shipping the gaskets" or has this guy become a shop to deal with in these economucally tough times? Regardless, If anyone with a set isn't planning to use them now wants to unload them, Im' in the market for a set of heads. Feel free to contanct me. Mike
  15. Looks like I'll go in for this little "procedure" on Friday the 9th. Greaaaat... 2 weeks recovery... The fall has officially sucked so far. Mike
  16. Tony, that's fine, but when you read "Don't use it because", I think "in general". I mean this is a site where any age of components is being used on hybridZs. It's fine to say that it's only the LATEST generation of catalysts, but my comments and comments of others were geared at "Not all" applications...
  17. We have tech sections. The problem is you have a number of "experts" with "strong opinions" and a lot of folks who are well intended. Short of pruning the respective threads per topic, per category, I don't know how you would clean it up. Remember, this is a NOT for profit site and the staff are all volunteers. Mike
  18. Long sleeve and short sleeve Ts and some of both stickers, and a flexfit hat... Give me a payment amount (zip is 22553) and an expected deliver timeframe... I'm IN regardless... Mike
  19. I commend JohnC for trying to keep HybridZ on the straight and narrow. It's hard to meet the needs of every skillset on the internet, especially through text. This problem isn't unique to this board and people will have varying levels of success in data mining. I agree the current search tool embedded in the site isn't as useful as it once was, but the google interface works pretty darned well. You just have to continue to manipulate your search terms. And the reality is that sometimes the answer just isn't out there. Sometimes... Mike
  20. Pete, We got the trailer relocated somewhat... Should be "ok".
  21. Well this is a fine mess... Looks like I have an umbilical hernia. I have an appointment on Wednesday with a surgeon and will probably go under the knife shortly there after. Going to impact my "motor install" plans for sure... Sux. No updates yet, but I suspect the 383 stroker will be ready for pickup this week. Zcar is parked in the car trailer. really hope a tree doesn't take it out in the coming storm. Mike
  22. It's been a week since we put CJ down. Three days ago we picked up his ashes at the vet, and a print of his paw. Yesterday we removed the chainlink fence in our back yard. Not because we won't have another dog, but because the other dog we currently have has a peculiar desire to poop in the woods away from the house. Go figure. Still Miss our Blind old man CJ... Mike
