  1. I just found a decent Car close by(all others were rusty) my plans call for a 360 Magnum and Toyota 154r transmission
  2. how is it going with the conversion?
  3. Here is my project a 1974 260 4spd air car The car is mostly rust free, Plans call for a worked Mopar Small block possibly with 145R Toyota Transmission I dont know yet.i will keep you guys posted
  4. The gear ratios would be wrong, and the trans is not strong..
  5. I have experience with MP engines there is a couple of issues to address. Motor mounts of Course, no one is making them So you are on your own in that department, but i heard you can cut Truck mounts down and they will fit in a Z perfectly..i have seen photos of this being done and i saved them somewhere (greg99 sent them to me) the motor mounts are closer to the front of the engine than a SBC. Another thing is Transmission options..in the manual dept. ive heard you can adapt the R145 Supra trans. (turbo version). or a keisler kit $$. it allows the TKO to bolt up your application. or you have the old school A-833 and the A833 OD... in the auto dept. you have the venerable 727.904,999 518,618 and their respective models . hope this helps
  6. He promised the same thing to us. its your money man. I work in fiberglass/graphite ,kevlar and other composites his items for sale are not even close to decent.. brittle tabs,no reinforcement in the points needed, Thin areas, crappy fiber hair used, bubbly, lots of contours missing from the part etc. etc.
  7. To All who are concerned this guy is a CROOK, Ive have had 1st hand experience with this guy..5k worth of experience..believe me i would never badmouth anybody who did not deserve it,but this guy......
  8. IMO the older 5.0 would be better there is a Huge Aftermarket for those engines and some parts would be cheaper ,plenty of Supercharger options too. the 04 would likely require more electronics, obd, etc. higher part prices...correct me if im wrong but, isn't the 04 motor a mod-motor ? that could be a 75 hp advantage from the start, but again I think its wider than the old school 5.0...just my 02 cents
  9. very true..2.4 is very underrated.. my thing with honda or SOME of the people that drive them is that they have no sense of respect or history for the Z-car,at least the younger crowd anyway...but nonethless Honda is a good engine
  10. yeah its an issue for sure I had my AMC 401 in my Cherokee rebuilt 4 or 5 years ago and the guy told me said this 5 dollar return oil gallley line will save my engine and its rear mains,he said had the AMC engnrs. done this there cars would have been even better.. no kidding being the king is good!!
  11. its a bimmer and it has some major RPM. the Lexus v-8 has good sound as well as the ford Mod motor
  12. It shoud fit but your going to have to find a trans for it it will probably 727 form a matador or hornet or whatever Amc Used Chrysler transmissions and Chevy transmision, but the used here own Bell housing yes the Blocks are strong, but parts are kind of expensive and getting hard to find. there oil system is not al that great but it can be addressed usually a new pump /and or timing cover will fix it,Along with a oil return line, good luck!
  13. cool make sure its from an E-body
  14. it should work as long as you have the small block bell housing clutch, flywheel etc. etc how do plan to operate the clutch? you wil need the shifter and Rods/arms as well.then you will be on your way!
  15. Mopars are not near as expensive as they once were. with the muscle car explosion the parts prices have come down a lot
  16. Ive been told the R154 will work in high power Applications
  17. I apologize Im not saying it would not work, but you would have to fab your own Linkage for the clutch or you could buy the Keisler hydraulic slave cylinder kit from http://www.Keislerauto.com. it eliminates the linkage issue...the next thing would be clearancing of the tunnel.so that the external linkage can work properly,it may or may not be an issue..what 4 spd do you plan on using? the OD or standard from an A-body(dart, Duster,Valiant, B-Body-( Charger,Roadrunner,GTX,Super Bee, Coronet etc.) or an E-body Cuda/Challenger B-E bodies have the same shifter Location the A body is farther forward... you could possibly adapt a bell housing/ hydraulic set up from truck Magnum series too,but then there is the trans issue.
  18. not alot of choices in the manuals trans. department
  19. The Buick engine is different, but they have not built a v-8 since about 1980, they started running Olds Engines in BOPs in regals, cutlass, grandprixs etc..... The Buick engine is a great engine but part$ might be an issue on another note Big Block Chryslers have the Dist. in the front..Small blocks in the back.
  20. THIS GUY IN CANADA IS SCUM I know this and i hope he see this I wll post pics of His "Show car Works" Tomorrow He sold my close Friend a Dodge Daytona kit..(wing car) and he said it was ready to bolt on and the parts were dead on replicas just Fiberglass...well when we recieved the Cart it was GARBAGE warped the wing was bowed the nose did not fit right. the fender scoops were incorrect they sent 2 lefts twice for a toal of 4 lefts and one right no instructions the material you could see through in the dark many calls were made about the quality but he replied you might have to work it more
  21. I think you should check out the JTR manual first read through it and get a good understanding of the process involved in doing the V-8 Conversion. as far as rust free Z''s Kansas is not the place you will need to look in SW,TX,AZ,NM,CA. etcetc.hope this helps
  22. a truck Engine is way too heavy the block/heads are cast iron a viper is All Aluiminum
