  1. Still looking for a fan? Here's a link to a pic. http://people.msoe.edu/~hahng/sale/ZXParts.htm PM Me. Greg
  2. WTB: 81-83 280ZXT trans, preferrably "World Class" T5. I don't need the bellhousing, just the trans. Please quote condition and price + shipping. If you are within 100 miles, I can pickup. Pics are nice. Thanks, Greg ghtokyo@yahoo.com
  3. It shows the blk/yel as going to individual bullet connectors on the ignition switch. The fusebox it is showing is located on the passenger side kick panel.
  4. I have the digital dash in blue. It's in pretty decent condition and I think everything was working when removed from my donor car. $70 obo
  5. Please quote price and shipping to 53208 please email ghtokyo@yahoo.com Thanks much, Greg
  6. I found REMFLEX as a source for a 1/8in. exhaust gasket with 1/16in "crush". This should comply well to the L28ET turbo and custom downpipe surfaces. This gasket should replace Nissan P/N: 14445-V0301 Has anyone used Remflex? Are they decent? Who wants to join the group buy? I need 5 people at $15 each. It will be cheaper if more people join. I want to place the order by Feb 2009. Email ghtokyo@yahoo.com
  7. Where can I buy the turbo to downpipe gasket for the stock 280zx turbo? My exhaust flange is warping since I used a thinner material to fabricate a downpipe. Now, I want an extra fluffy graphite gasket to seal up the gap. Does anyone have a source? No Comments on my fab skills.. Thanks, Greg
  8. Did you determine if the shaft has a left-hand threaded nut or a regular one?
  9. According to the service manual schematics (Mitchel Repair Information Co) Grn/Yel goes to pin 8 Grn/Blk goes to pin 17 The Blk/Wht Wire goes to a lot of other things and I believe it is switched power (+12v ignition source).
  10. Oil cooler fittings (280zx Turbo,Automatic only) Injectors Upgrades that will fit the L28 Driveshaft (280zx Turbo coupe)
  11. THe PS2 or XBOX is an awesome Idea in my opinion. Get Codewarrior, a C++ compiler for the PS2, and start by rewriting Megasquirt in C. (Unless that is already done?) I think it would give you about the same reliability as a Linux PC. Your number of analog I/O channels would be an important consideration when designing a system. Does anyone know if there is Megasquirt source code in C already?
  12. Does that Jim Wolf setup use the Ford Lightning or Mustang MAF? If so, the wiring harness is probably different. (Don't know for sure, but it's something to investigate)
  13. Well, take it out and have it bench tested at the place where you bought it. I know that around me Auto-Zone and Advance Auto will bench test them up to the rated current. Did you resistance-check the fusible links or just do a visual inspection? I would do an ohm-reading. Good Luck,
  14. I saw that car on Ebay a while back. I think you got the website VegyCar.com when you bought the Diesel Z...But I can't find that site at all. Who Owns the Earth-Mobile? Nice Artwork!!!
  15. For the Downpipe. buy a Turbo flange from Motorsport Auto (It's not a standard T3 flange) and have a local shop bend and weld it for you. But GOOD Stainless Steel welders are hard to come by. BTW: Motorsport might have the complete downpipe you need. I too may need to source a new Turbo Someone please look at my post in Technical - Trobleshooting I have some serious wastegate noise going on and I don't know if it is a potential problem or not.
  16. Hi, After driving the 280zt again for the first time in 2 weeks. I noticed the mysterious wastegate chatter. However, it got louder. It is still maybe 5-10 clicks per second, and I haven't noticed any other problems. I just want to know if I should be saving up for a new turbo? Greg
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I have a similar problem but the tach ONLY works in the morning. Then it will work intermittently for a little while before totally dying. I have checked all wiring so I might need a new tach. However, this only started after my turbo engine swap. I have the resistor in series as instructed. any suggestions?
  18. Hi, After my turbo rebuild and transplant to the 75 280z. I didn't have any problems. But then a few months later the engine has a chattering/clicking sound when I hit 6psi (full stock boost pressure). When it happens, my boost gauge oscillates around 4-6psi. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a problem at all? Or is that proper wastegate operation. Thanks for any comments.
  19. Wow that is strange, I thought that key to align the crank pully was right on the crankshaft. It must have been ground off, or broke off. Wierd!
  20. HI, I should have one, I will have to look around though, those things are small and get mis-placed. Do you have one for a 280z? I need that jet but the 280zx is different. what is your email? Thanks, ghtokyo@yahoo.com
  21. Heat in the intake area has been a problem for z car builders forever. I'm a little new to these cars, but I've done a lot of research. The intake blower from a 280zx may be just what you need. They were used on the NA and Turbo so they shouldn't be that hard to find. I'm looking for one myself! ghtokyo@yahoo.com
  22. I thought this auction was interesting, but I dont understand the adjustable pressure relief. Is that the bolt with the large head, on the bottom? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-280Z-280ZX-NEW-Turbo-Oil-Pump-Adjustable_W0QQitemZ8058816934QQcategoryZ6778QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The turbo automatic pump is $85 at my local Autozone. I think that one should be able to kick out enough pressure for your oil cooler since the Turbo Auto came with a cooler. I'm thinking of shimming my turbo man. pump but I don't think I know how exactly. Are there 2 springs inside? I read this and still don't understand. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=107408&highlight=turbo+oil+pump]
  23. Hi, I kinda have the same question. My car had a bypassed heater core when I bought it. I just got done replacing the heater hoses inside the car. (Core was actually good I think) I don't recall the size of the fittings However. This is a pic of my current setup. I bet I could just plug this line going to/from the thermostat because I'm not using the TB coolant passage. Can someone confirm this? Also, does it matter which line goes to the inlet and outlet of the heater system. for example, could the lines on the firewall switched and have normal heater operation? I don't recall the size of the fittings either.
  24. Just Ranting. Z cars' ac systems seemed ok to me. When I removed mine from a donor car it was working quite nicely. At least it stood up better than most Toyota air systems. arg!

    Starter

HI, I swapped the starters on a '75 280z and '83 zxt with no problem. So I think the diferent flywheel sizes is moot.
