how did you tie in the framerail to the rear subframe?did you do the rails or the floorboars first?

i was wondering what kind of welding you guys are using with your framerails and flooboards. any bad experinces with any?what does the framerail attach to at the rear of the car?do i make flooboards first if too rusty to weld?i saw pete's page but i cant see where it ties at the rear of the frame rail. pete? mike? anyone. thankz!! pics?

well i finally worked on the car again.at first it burn the fuel pump relaybut after i changed that along with the plugs,cap and rotor the sucker started!!!i let it idle for about 10 minutes to blow all that black smoke out.after it cleared i gave it a couple of revs.this baby revs awesome and the turbo is very loud and i couldn,t hide i if i could.is there anyway i can find out what size turbo it is? i alsotook it sor a spin around the block.the car idles pretty rough and falls on its face when i give it more than half throttle;but i can ease on the gas and it will accelerate smoothly.is it the airflow meter?can i do something to eliminate this?

when i pulled htu plugs they were wet from the fuel.i cleaned the plugs and turned hte engine to see if it has spark and it did.i have fuel,spark and air wheres the boom?i am going back to the garage with my manual to trace every wire,relay,connection.i just wanted to know if anybody had these symptons when convertin and if it was something obvious.p.s the spark was kinda weak.

ok guys heres what i've done.i saw an ad for a 74 260z .i went and saw it at an impound.it turned out that it has an 83zxt engine in it along with a fuel cell.everything seemed to be itact so i put in my battery and turned the key and the huge fuelpump starts pumping but the engine wont turn;so i leave the ignition on and stick a screwdriver on the solenoid and it turned over and kinda sputtered for about a second then it died.so i offered the guy 350 for it and took it home (with tittle).the car sat for a little longer until last night i took it to my buddys garage to work on it(at his house).when we were working on it we found a couple of switches mounted where the ash tray would have been.so we keep on looking and we find that it has the started button hidden behind the ignition switch,and a manual control valve on the left side of the steering column.i flipped all the switches on and pushed the button and the car turned over and back fired like a mutha.were are getting fuel cause i pulled the injector and we have spark at the plugs.what is my problem?it also has a vacuum pump running when the ignition is on,huge down pipe and 3inch exhaust with a stock muffler.was this guy going for the sleeper look?

anybody think about using motor pltes for a v8 conversion?will it twist the car to hell?what if the chassis was reinforced?you would have a better selection for headers!

i havent pulled the turbo off yet cause shortage of time.i will try and pull it off this weekend.but what if the turbo is not locked up?

is it possible for a turbo to lock up after sitting for a long time?i got a deal on a early model 260 with a zx conversion (350.00) i had the car towed and when i went to start it it ran but it shut off quickly and the intake hose started to suck back and forth.i cleaned the plugs and added fresh fuel.the car ran rough then it started to bakfire and shaking the intake hose violently.any suggestions?

the crank should be the same

all you have to do is take off the front cover and see if it has a gear to gear timing set.the fords actually have a chain but all the gm's have a direct gear from the crank to the cam.i work for a machine shop and build mostly marine stuff.the will be the same.

hey guys i was just wondering what would be the best 6cylider combo by using a turbo.what size turbo which shortblock,head,cam ect.. i would also like to know what would be the best combo for the non turbo with some webers.what exhaust?any timeslips?

well im buying it from a guy that i have known for a while and he said that it was made for racing but it was never raced!i looked under the car and it had an r200 (on a 74?)it does has a small set of rollbars.the rear window is made of lexan(on fiberglass hatch)the fenders arent stock appearence so i guess they weren't put on for rust problems.the front ones are flared about 3inches outward and the rear are about 4.the actual fender is wider not the wheelwell.im trying to post some pics.it kinda looks like one of the kits that that kitcar place sells. its the red one with the tubbed out look.he also said that it has a close ratio tranny from a certain year car,is there such thing? any questions? answers?

hello to everyone.i have a couple of quetions on the 6 cylinder performance. what is an n42 head?a p90?how can i tell what year 5 spd tranny does the car have?the reason i am asking is because im about to buy another zcar!it has a wide body kit in front and backand a g-nose.it also has 16x8 inch rims with descent tires.the whole car is fiberglass exept for th doors and the cowl.oh yeah,it also has tripple webbers and the owner said it has a big cam.the car will light up the tires for about three or four mailboxes!he also said that with the head that he has in the car and a 280 block would be awsome.any tips,help,nonos?ill try to post some pics when i bring the car home.

you would probably have to do some kind of suspension work but go for it!

does the arizona zcar brake kit convert to 5 lug?pete?anybody?
