  1. I have a '49 Allis Chalmers model C, but it does not look anywhere near that nice. It looks like that flat head engine bolted in without having to use an adapter, pretty cool.
  2. The only time cars make me mad is when they don't work the way they are supposed to. I like fast cars and slow cars and inbetween cars. I like Lamborghini's, some Ford's, some Chevy's, and some triumph's and Fiat's. I also like old Willys and those home built rock crawlers. How about Bug-eye Sprite's, their pretty cool. I even like my Isuzu Stylus. I don't really care much for AMC Pacers - but they don't make me mad. When I had my first Z car I got blown away by some muscle car and had a hard time keeping up with a Merkure (sp) XR4Ti, but that didn't make me mad. It was actually pretty fun. I saw a video about the Jaguar XJ220, now that is a cool car, anyway, it has a 500hp twin turbo v6 that gets 19 or 20 mpg, and it will do 200+ mph. Nothing to be mad about there. Cars are great, even some of the ugly ones. I like my Z even if it will never be as fast as my brother's hopped up 66 Mustang. The truth is that my Z is better than his Mustang even though my Z doesn't run - that makes my brother mad =).
  3. Mine is 30x36. Still working on sheetrock, it is taking a long time because I keep finding other projects to work on. At least I have my spinkler system done. If only I could get some grass to grow.
  4. I thought this post was going to be about farting!!!!
  5. Get a DNA sample - clone it - and its as good as new.
  6. Here are some pictures from the catalog. Not the best pictures because the catalog is bent and has water damage, but you should get the idea.(hope this works).

  9. That is the same address but the phone number on the brochure is 702-796-9801. I did not try to call.
  10. a company called ZISIZIT???? I was cleaning out my shed that I have not been in for years and found a brochure for them with a post mark from 1991. The were located in Las Vegas and did engine swaps and body kits and a turnkey car called the ZRE based on the early z cars. I remember stopping by the shop when I lived in Vegas and was amazed to see the they were swapping 4 cylinder engines into z cars. The brochure says it was an L20b and developed 249hp. They also did vg30 v6's with twin turbos that made 450hp. And of course they did v8's. The body kit looked pretty nice. They did the Pantera style hatch back and the front looked kind of Pantera-ish. It also had Ferrari 308 style air scoops along the upper part of the door going into the rear quarter panel. The brochure also mentions a company for suspension parts that I am not familiar with- it's called g-Machines. The car used McPherson struts and coil overs. Brakes used JFZ calipers. They mention a custom european style dash and remodeled consol and door panels. The brochure also claims that the L-28 engine has been know to produce over 800hp!?!?!?!?! I don't know if they are still in business but I doubt it. Anyway, thought I would share that blast from the past.

    I'm Sorry

I am sorry I read that. I am also sorry if my being sorry has offended anyone.
  12. I would be very interested in doing a chop top if the glass issue can be resolved. I saw a truck magazine that showed the installation of a windshield in an older truck using the modern glue in method. They installed a metal strip around the window frame that the glass was glued to and finished it out with caulk and a plastic "T" strip. It looked very nice. Of course, it used flat glass. To frame out the z car to accept flat glass would look really weird. It will be interesting to see what you come up with. I'm also interested to see how your hatch turns out. I am impressed with how the car looks, and how easy you made it look to do. Are you comfortable with the head room that the chopped top leaves you with?
  13. George Barris is selling of his collection of movie and custom cars. Fast and Furious, Munsters, Dukes of Hazzard, Christine etc.... Lots of intersting and unique cars. Even a couple of 280z 2+2's. See them at butterfields.com
  14. If you want to do a modified car I would think that the drift car or ricer type car would be your best bet. If you want to do a restoration for resale, I would think that something like an Austin Healy 3000, Datsun roadster or Triumph TR6 would be a good choice. Something small and easy to work on with a pretty high selling price. Otherwise an american muscle car is always a good bet if you can find a good deal.
  15. A friend of mine just bought a body kit for his mustang. The best "DEAL" he could find was from a company in Canada. A month after he ordered it he still hadn't received it so he call about it and finds out that the paper work for shipping was not complete - they need every blank on the form filled out to get it through customs and into the US. He provides the information and then finds out that they can not deliver it to our town. They can ship it to Sacramento, Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. My friend ends up driving 300 mile to Salt Lake to pick it up. After test fitting it on the car he finds that the "primed and ready to paint" kit is going to take major work to fill in voids and get it to fit properly. (the side skirts are 1 1/2" too short). He now thinks that the kit is a knock off and not the name brand kit he thought it was. Would have been cheaper to buy almost anywhere but from the best "Deal".
  16. My brother has an Eason???? compressor and it is really nice - but - it cost $1500!! That is out of my reach. I am planning more around $800. His is supposed to be the quiet version but is still loud. So, mine is going behind the garage. I still have some learning to do before I make a purchase. I don't have the electrical done yet but am planning on a 200 amp box that will be seperate from the house. I am thinking of doing three 220 lines - one for the compressor, one for the welder, and one for an oven to do powder coating.
  17. Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure if I will use copper or black pipe for the air lines - does'nt much matter right now because I don't have a compressor yet When I get one I am going to build a small room for it behind the garage. I am also planning on insulating and sheet rock inside.
