  1. If that doesnt work out, i have an 83 im parting out
  2. After months of getting stringed along by the previous owner (he said he would be able to trailer the car to my location but kept putting it off) The car has arrived. It was flat bedded and there is now a 81 280zx sitting in my driveway at my moms house in Paramus, NJ If anyone is in the area and around on Saturday, I will be taking the entire car apart all day, feel free to call me at 201 207 5916 and I will give you the address. Also, there will be a part out thread made this Sunday as well. I thought the dash was uncracked I was wrong, it has one crack in the center, i was very upset.
  3. Do you have a truck too? Or can i rent both?
  4. I bought a donor car in Hamberg, NJ Need to trailer it to Wallington, NJ anyone in the area at all with a trailer willing to help? I'll pay for gas and lunch and throw you some money on top of it. Its about 60 miles between the two spots I believe. The prev owner of the car could do it in 3 weeks but my friend whos letting me take it apart at his house wont have room in 3 weeks, i need to have it brought this week or the next Thanks in advance to anyone who can help Pete
  5. Thats rough man, I would leave a note on your front door for the delivery guy with a copy of your license to prove identity...i dunno if that's a bad idea or not haha. If you talk to Kim again, can you ask if you have to pay for the rims entirely if you place a an order that will be on back order or just need to put down a deposit. Thanks!

    BMW Seats

check out www.bimmerforums.com they always have seats for sale, I wouldn't pay more than 300 for a clean set, but im cheap haha, that and shipping is going to be a killer so try to find local
  7. Im just trying to figure out a ballpark estimate of how much it will cost to have the stock Fubar panels taken out and new ones welded in
  8. Did i read somewhere they are on back-order and have a 2 month wait?
  9. I would like to see the car completely finished and painted, side by side with a real one
  10. 300zx's are not reliable, no car with that many miles tends to be, unless its a 4 cylinder honda/toyota A "sports car" with that many miles with an already complex motor...your looking for issues, and its only going to become more expensive with a "newer" car. Im in college as well man but already work full time. I say your best bet is, get a mid 90's saturn like I have, you can get them for like 500-1000 dollars, there cheap, reliable (if you respect them) and get 30mpg. Get a side job and start saving your money, find the car you want, dont settle. Wait till you know what you want to do as well. Guys can change there mind 10 times over during a build, and it can cost you a lot of $$$ Figure out what you want to do with the car. Price it out, add 5 grand, and do it!
  11. That what my friends say about women! (mostly referring to anything our gf's say)
  12. Actually all that was included in the 450 (not the headwork or crank work tho) but having the motor boiled and tested and cleaned up were all included in the 450 price quote, it may have been 510 for having the block stress tested as well, but still, not a bad price, I'm gonna look for a shop near me in NJ-Westchester to do it all. Now I just have to decide on internals etc
  13. Citizens Machine Shops 301 West 9 Mile Road Highland Springs, VA 23075-1358 (804) 737-9211
  14. Yea i got quoted 450 for everything by a shop down in VA that I found through searching the forums I prob wont end up going there but its still a good ballpark for what i should expect to pay the 450 includes boiling the block, testing it, installing everything all machine work etc I dont think its that bad of a quote.
  15. Crank yes, i would have it cleaned up and nitrated, not sure about the rods tho, any suggestions?
  16. with 240z they dont start till 13 cause the first dozen were prototypes and turned into race cars...dunno if thats the deal with 280zx's maybe its #404
  17. Yea i do, was just trying to get a ballpark cause i may or may not have a place to work on the motor and dont want to impose on anyone's garage.
  18. I searched around and could not really find what I was looking for, if someone knows of a thread please shoot it in my direction I wanted to know the cost of a shop to assemble a motor and any machine work costs as well. The pricing im looking for is strictly for labor. I would keep the car a 2.8 and would be putting forged internals in and provide all parts necessary for the rebuild. Also, im in NJ anywhere in driving distance where i can get this done? Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, if it has, please just refer me over to said thread Pete
  19. I hope its not :/ heard it could be worth something if it was crack free
  20. This is a picture from the donor car i just bought, im having it shipped to my friends garage next week to part out (keeping motor trans rear, brakes, driveshaft) and I decided to re-examine my interior pics and it seems like the dash is uncracked right?
  21. im using the turbo motor setup from the 280zx My 240z has aftermarket eagle alloy rims on it and this is the donor car
  22. Good thing she doesnt have a username on these forums to read that huh? haha Where are you looking to move to? My mom wants to get a multifamily this summer, but we are most likely getting a townhouse in mahwah, and I get the garage all to me I dont know if it be a good idea you and I living under the same roof, we would be in the garage 24/7 working on Z related things lol
