I was thinking about that, whats my best bet? taking the angle grinder with metal wire attachment and just like...strip the entire bottom of the car then repaint with rust preventive coatings.

Yea i had really bad throttle issues on my Saturn, and it sounded like a kitchen stove ignitor under my hood, I looked under the hood and saw a spark jumping off one of my coil packs. I actually was able to just take off the top plug on it, and the coil was covered in calcium, after just rubbing it off, The car ran smooth and i could give it full throttle again without the whole car sputtering etc. It sounds like you need a new coil or just need to clean it up, but i see you have already done that....hmm, good luck!

Yes Sir, and I got a great sign from the car gods Ended up selling a bunch of little stuff on Craigslist that had been sitting, So with the extra money i got out of nowhere, i went to Sears to check out a tool kit i been drooling over. Turns out it will still on sale since columbus day, and it was the last day, so I decided to just do it (and not care about my gf yelling at me about it haha) and what happens? As the transaction is going through, big pop up window comes on the screen and tells me im an instant winner and got a 50 dollar gift card on the spot! Ended up getting more extensions and U joints, even though the kit had the extensions, i wanted the U joints, and I got spark plug sockets, the kit came with 2 of them as well but the other 2 were metric and i just wanted to have. But yea, AWESOME Its the craftsmen 260 piece mechanic tool set

Update, made 2nd and final payment today Car is getting picked up the 2nd or 3rd from Dallas and will be in NJ by the weekend!!!

Ive found complaints about every good place though, everyone has horror stories and everyone complains, i know my one friend got a great sr20 from them and my coworkers and his friends have gotten numerous honda motors from them as well with zero issues, who knows

Its actually coming from a highly recommended JDM motors distributor, JDM Engine Depot in NJ (like 45 min from me actually) my friend got a great sr20 their for a fantastic price, you can check out the motor and do a leak down compression test before you get it. I just know doing visual tests and a compression test wont always spot out everything that may need to be replaced

I remember reading it on a site (and I DID TRY to search it here, prob used the wrong combination of words), but I cant find it any longer. What is the standard list of parts that I should replace after getting an imported motor (sr20) Spark Plugs, Belts, filters, Oil, Coolant....anything else? Is it common to have to replace injectors? If so, could I use high flow injectors?, can the car be tuned (Megasquirt) to just run them at a lower capacity? or will the car always run rich? Injectors are a bit expensive, and I plan on upgrading them, was wondering if I could go straight to the upgraded ones and run them at lower capacity while I still have the stock turbo on the car. My first plan of action after getting my new z is cleaning and derusting the engine bay and respraying it. Besides sand paper, degreaser and a ton of elbow grease, anything else i should keep in mind to help the process? Sr20 Red Top, going to keep it stock turbo at first, im used to awd turbo, and will now be going to a car 1,000 pounds lighter and rwd, so i figure stock turbo sr20 red top with the bolt ons I will be getting will probably make around 250whp, and considering Ive been driving a 95 Saturn sl1 (5spd!) for the last year and a half, it will feel like night and day. I don't want to rush this thing so im going to wait till I have all the money to get the right parts instead of rushing this. I really want to just enjoy and be proud of the car every time I look at it. But my eventual goal for end of summer is Peak Boost GT30 kit I have to teach my evo8 MR younger cousin a lesson

He sent me pics of the underbody, the car is pretty rust free like he said, but yea, planning to do an sr20 swap, just worried about megasquirt wiring, my friends work at TurboTrix and The Shop in CT so maybe they will know SO, whos near NJ and wants to come hang out and help out?

I called up McKinney, these guys are great, i told them im purchasing a ton of sr20 swap parts in the upcoming months and they were very very insightful on the whole process and said they could work out a discount since im buying so many parts, they would make an entire kit and mark it down. Really looking forward to doing business with them
