well i talked to the guy today and he hasn't been able to assess the damage yet since he has some people in front of me but he did mention he was not interested in building a ready made floor and rail package. he would rather the customer come in and have it done to insure quality control. if you guys are still interested i will post before pics, during pics (hopefully), and after pics. then you can determine if you want to take the car in or not, 8)

thanks for the advice. as you can tell, i dont know too much about carbs but its a learning process! i was told platinums werent the best for this car but the guy was so adamant about me putting them in, i just bought them as a quick replacement. i had the option of buying AC Delco and Autolite plugs as well, but decided to stay away from those. i still have the NGK's which are a little white except for that one from the 3rd cylinder and i actually have densos but i cant find the damn things. Should I just use the NGK's anyway? If I regapped the bosch's, could i put them in another car?

i heard there was someone that had plans to cut and make floors, frame rails, and subframe connectors. i'm going to a frame specialist this week and was wondering if that someone could share the design so he could cut it out for a few of us. with the specs in hand, i'm sure he can make quick work of it and if anyone else is interested, i'd be more than willing to have this guy make a few extra. i'm sure the price will be reasonable. btw, i'm in the houston area so if you are close, we might be able to do a group buy kinda thing. lmk

thats what confuses me, the car sat for just a day and was running decently before then. i'm guessing the carbs are bad and probably went out of tune. it seems to be leaking or something.. as far as moving it, Oliver (olie05) came to the rescue once again and helped me fire her up. i was then able to drive her to the parking garage i have unlimited access to. anyway, next time i'll have a few tow straps in the car just in case, even though i hate the thought of pulling the Z with my accord.

because i dont have a truck and the hook up fee alone to tow it is $60 and it just needs to be moved about 3 blocks! the lot it was parked in was only "public" certain hours. anyway, i got the car running again but its very rough. i think i have bad carbs and/or a bad fuel pump.

OK, now my car wont start at all. it was running super rich at first. then, i added oil to my SU carbs and it was opening up the throttles to allow more air in. i topped it off and a lot of it was leaking out of the intake. but, it was running much better and was actually driveable. that was 5 days ago. today, i cranked it and it would not start. i thought it might be low on gas so i added another gallon. it ran for a few seconds then died. i pulled the plugs and they are all showing it is running hot with the exception of cylinder 3, which is black and oily. so i put in Bosch platinums (the guy at Autozone says I should do platinum if I'm running rich) and it still does not run. Are my wires bad? Distributor, coil, etc? the oil in the SU's look low again too, do I need to rebuild them? i need to move the car since its in a private lot, what should i do?? i'll post this in the general problems board as well

i was thinking, since wide angle led's are usually more expensive, why not cluster the narrow angle led's in the middle and have the wider angle led's along the perimeter?

not to mention POR15 makes a "manifold restoration kit" that can withstand the heat (and is actually meant to fix headers) for $38.

damn, another thing to buy lol. ok, so i'm gonna get the tie coat. but, shouldnt the metal ready solvent etch the metal enough for me?

just ordered 2 quarts of por15 black, 1 quart marine clean, and 1 quart metal ready. i've got my interior stripped and taking it to my friends body shop to have new floors and rails put in. the question is would i need to topcoat everything, even the stuff on the underbody? how do i go about painting it, do i absolutely need their primer or is regular stuff ok? thanks in advance

I just ordered a Unisyn carburetor synchro tool. I opted to get this rather than the Colortune since it was much cheaper. Any tips on how to use this tool? I read up on a few good sites on how to tune my carbs without the Colortune and all they say is "use the Unisyn to..." Thanks!

omg zlalomz.. your car is gorgeous. i never liked the YZ front because of the lack of headlights but the way you did yours is awesome! that just looks... incredible.. damn! great job on that man

zlalomz, thanks for the info. your car is awesome... those rims are bad ass! so how does the 12" rim handle for autocross? this is what i eventually want to do with my z..

its been done before... i've seen a JDM 240sx (right hand drive) dash installed into a 240. do a search... i never saw the finished result but the in progress pictures were awesome.

yeah i thought so too :/ lol. just for reference, what does darius use up front? i see the YZ in the back but its hard to tell whats in the front. YZ as well? I'll probably go the subtle Z route
