  1. Lessee. I spent a little over $600. What was expensive was the adapters as I don't know anyone with a shop and got charged up the A$$ for the one time custom job. Owen
  2. Haven't seen his car but didn't SX make stuff for aircraft as well? I have their pump and filter, both are pretty dang big cylinders and need a lot of space to mount! Owen
  3. Cool website! The only word I recognized there is "Galleria" Owen
  4. Not an LT1 but could provide useful info nonetheless. http://www.skulte.com/turbo.html Owen
  5. I'd really like to do that pin wheel thing too, haven't seen any TSW wheels that I like though. Anyways, I've talked to some of these guys at HRE and they are helpful. Owen
  6. I'm under the assumption that Hayashi Racing is aks HRE...sorry if I'm wrong but HRE is at www.hrewheels.com I checked out zparts.com but couldn't find a picture of the wheels, something about the classifieds being closed down for a while. Owen
  7. I keep forgetting which year tank I have, 75 or 76...I got it from Randy. But I might be interested in selling mine and switching to a fuel cell. This 75 or 76 style was the only one to fit the 240Z. Owen
  8. I bet a turbo 4 would be much easier to setup, layout-wise than a turbo or twin turbo V8...I would choose the SR20DET or a 13B twin turbo myself. As to "what's the point?", maybe some people don't like the V8 and it's pushrods, maybe they like the high pitched sound of a 4 banger. When I started the forum it was called the V8 Swapper's Forum (cool name, huh?) but since we became Hybridz, we now have hipo I6, V6 and V8s here. And it's definitely for the better! I say, do what you wanna. Even if the engine's a little smaller, even if it's a little less powerful. Do it cuz ya like it! Owen
  9. Reliability has a lot to do with the amount of work and care you put into the engine and car. In simply comparing engines, one would assume the RB30 is more reliable than an L28...but so many things can affect that. If you're looking for low end torque, get the one with the biggest displacement. Most likely that is the RB30 but it will most likely also be harder to swap in? BTW, is the RB30 a newer Skyline engine? For the R33 or R34? If you can get the RB26 or RB30 with the turbos, why not just keep them? Owen
  10. Hmm, seems like a lot of the sensors are placed on the drivers side. Any reason for that? Good tip on keeping the sensor close to the engine to keep it hot. Owen
  11. Should there be one oxy sensor for each bank, or just one where the pipes from the headers meet? (If they meet) Owen
  12. I paid $150 for both, but they were used and were 2 different seats too! But I'm not complaining, it ain't a show car Those NEX seats looked pretty cool though, I like the cushions. As for seat sliders, Tim, you know how short I am, my seat is as far back as possible with the rollcage and all. So I didn't use any sliders. I even got a d-shaped steering wheel to be able to get out of the car easier. Pete's advise is the best, whether racing seats or stockers from something else, sit in them first! Owen
  13. Tim, Those seats look like Cobeaus, which I have. $399 a pair seems kinda high for no-namers...what kind of warranty, what kind of material do they use, does price include rails? Owen

    300ZX TT Diff

This is most likely the R230 VLSD but I don't know what the ratios would be from that car. I paid $275 for the diff and two sets of axles. Get the driveshaft flange too. As for making it work, do a search on this site. Owen
  15. Thanks Danno! That part number should help me somewhat. Owen
  16. Ok, I can't remove the solenoid with the tranny in the car, and I'm trying to hook this thing up to work the way it should. Does anyone know what kind of connector plugs into this thing? Better yet, does anyone have a picture of this thing so I can get a cheaper connector at the local parts store? Thanks, Owen

    K&N housing

You just want a cold air intake right? You can pay over $100 for a "system" or just buy the filter and route your own tubing. See mine, bottom pic http://v8zcar.topcities.com/s30z/engine2.htm Owen
  18. I have the MiniRam2 and the packaging, enginebay-wise is great. The manifold only cost $900 or soand it's TPI ready. Owen
  19. Too "volkswagon-ish" for me, not deep enough either. Owen
  20. Nice! Any other info on this car? Those wheels look like mine but his (her?) centercaps look like real functioning ones like in racing. Mine just cover up the lug nuts. Owen
  21. The last page doesn't have pictures yet but they are the same ones I sent them to Tim. http://v8zcar.topcities.com/s30z//r230.htm Tim, did you say "completed"? Adapters and axles too? Geez, man! Don't you sleep??? Owen [ September 24, 2001: Message edited by: Owen ]
  22. $75 a side is expensive! I paid $50 a PAIR for mine. I asked for a discount on quantity and actually bought 4 for $180. Oh, but you were quoted for springs, etc? Then I don't know... Owen
  23. Hey Tim, Good to hear that news, did he happen to mention which stocks, out of the stock ones, were the best to use in terms of strength? I think I told you on the phone the other nite that the 280Z stubs are stronger because there are more splines. Try Zbarn.com? That is where I got mine, 2 sets actually, just in case. Owen

    New paint

Howz this for a question then? What to look for in the paint and primer themselves? I've heard of PPG etc but that's about it. UV curing???? I need to know so I can tell the paint shop what I want and don't want. Owen
  25. Does anyone know how this thing works? I assume it reads data from the speed sensor to allow shifting into reverse? Owen
