  1. Thanks for the quick replys guys! great info. Seeing as this is a project years in the making i need to now go out and find on (i hope napa has one) btw does anybody know the output amperage for a stock sbc 350 alternator?
  2. I’m finishing up the wiring on my 75 280z SBC and I am about to hook up the amp meter, trouble is I don’t like the idea of running my big 10 gauge wires into something that comes stock with 14ga or smaller wires. Nor do I like the fact that I have so much power running into that little gauge. I am for whatever reason unsure how much amperage my stock gm 350 alternator should output? Does anybody run their amp meter? How much risk exists?
  3. motorsport auto sells a replacement fuse box. I havent installed one but I'm pretty sure its very strait forward.
  4. Turbo Meister do you have any pics of your exhaust manifolds ?

Nismo280zEd do you have any pics of the installs info on the process? Is it just cut and fit?
  6. jimzdat I've heard that the jegster cages dont fit well. Have you had any issues with fitment? I'd like to see some pics of the cage installed.
  7. KTM do you have part numbers for the weather stripping or sizes?
  8. Nice work! any reason you decided to place the brake bias knob under the hood? Some benifit I dont know about?
  9. Don't s2000's also use a drive by wire system?
  10. 260DET are you venting both the engine bay and the wheel well with those vents?
  11. Cool thanks Bjhines. Ill try and keep my connections as minimal as possible!
  12. I don’t want to hijack this thread but while we are on the subject of fuel lines. I’m currently also installing new lines on my Z. However because the car is pretty well complete I don’t want to have to disassemble my rear end in order to install my new lines. So I was thinking that I would make then line in a few sections this way it would be easier to install. Do I have other options? Would this work and be safe? I doubt I would need more then 2 or three sections to complete the whole line.
  13. Looks amazing! I too am currently running a new fuel line. I just started work on it today, anybody have any tips or advice?
  14. Are you talking about the transistor ignition box? If so I've still got mine off my 75 280z im pretty sure it would work.
  15. As I was cleaning my garage today I found a spare transmission cooler. Seeing that I have an integrated trans cooler in my radiator I really don’t have any use for it. So while I am redoing my fuel system I figured I would use it to cool my fuel. It has 3/8 in/out this leads my to believe that it wouldn’t slow my fuel flow down. Pressure shouldn’t be an issue as I am running a carbureted system at 8 psi. By cooling the fuel I should be able to eliminate vapor lock although that hasn’t been a problem, I might pickup a small horsepower increase. Id like to route it to protect it from any impact. Has anybody had any experience with this? any input?
  16. I have a turbo 400 transmission and am looking to cool it. I am planning on running solid lines like this http://Http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_757155_-1_10019 and connecting these via high temp/ pressure lines to the JTR radiators transmission cooler and my transmission. However I am unsure about a few things 1) Will a 3/8 line be big enough to flow the fluid I need to flow. This car will be street driven and is fairly stock only a few goodies nothing special. 2) Will 90degree elbow adpters cause me such great friction loss that it will affect the ability of the transmission cooler to do its job? (What size fittings do I need for a turbo 400 I forgot and really don’t feel like dropping my trans to find out) 3) The JTR radiators integrated trans cooler seems like it should provide me enough cooling has anybody had any issues with it not? Any help or opinions are appreciated!
  17. Thanks for the quick replys. Dave about the ts198 which temp rating am i looking for? M1noel I would like to have used my stock sensors but the problem is that I lost mine. So im trying to find parts that are easier to source.
  18. Here it goes. Is their any way to adept aftermarket sensors for oil and temp to read from my 350 SBC and display on my stock datsun gauges? I lost the sensors when I moved and now need to make the gauges work. Ive been scouring ebay and classifieds however I would like other options. The fact that I will still have to adapt the datsun sensors to the 350 SBC is annoying. Is their any other option without having to purchase aftermarket gauges? Btw motor is a carbureted 350 mild cam intake porting on heads. Jtr radiator.
  19. Looks great!! I am sure you have a new vid to post, so post it!!
  20. I love all this info. I didnt know about the hydrogen gas thats pretty spiffy. Correct me if I am wrong here but even being placed in box will not comply with most sanctioned racing unless the box is vents to the extriror?
  21. great it seems my mind is made up Odyessy it is, can anybody suggest a good online dealer ?
  22. thanks all . as far as why I am trying to hide the battery its mainly for looks. I relocated the battery to the rear but now need more space so id like to move it into the small compartments behind the seats and try it as stock looking as i can. so the CCA # is really important to me as that opens up more options for me.
  23. e_racer1999 thanks for the reply. The 680 CCA odyssey is the right size and seems to put me on the right track however I cant find the specs I need ie how many CCA's do i need to get my car fired up. I'd like to get just enough to do the job correctly and consistently.
  24. Here is my problem I need to find a battery that is fairly externally small in order to “hideâ€. However after hours of searching I cannot seem to find the information I am looking for. I need to know how much power output I need from my battery in order to crank my stock compression 350 sbc. As to what I understand after cranking I really have no need for the battery as my alternators output should be more then enough to supply power for all my needs. I’m running almost no accessories. But I do need enough power to allow maximum output for my hEI ignition box and dizzy. So how small can I go? What are my baseline numbers that will give me the power I need? Thanks for the help !
