  1. PM me some pics/info on it if ya don't mind
  2. I'm actually getting a good deal on the under-tray area in the battery compartment. Having a guy cut me the metal I need out of a good Z so I can then cut mine out and fit it, trim what I don't need, and weld it in place. That'd fix that problem. The floor pan replacement kit will fix most of the other rust on the inside like I mentioned, as it's pretty much all pan related. Then in the spare tire area, a couple small pieces of sheet metal patches put in place will fix that up. As far as the trim, emblems, bumpers, all that kinda stuff that's missing, I have all that stuff, it's just not on the car right now.
  3. Gimme some pics if ya don't mind. Also needing the area below the battery tray. Forgot to put that in the original post but mentioning it here should work for other viewers also.
  4. http://www.datsunstore.com/product_info.php/products_id/732 Was going to purchase the MSA units then I saw these. Of course I know they don't have the drain holes or same shape as original like MSA or ZED, but I'm not really worried about originality. Just curious if anyone had tried these and had any good opinions of them?
  5. I need a good rust free battery tray. If you have a Z you're parting and haev a torch or cut off wheel and can get at it, let me know.
  6. After years of being into Z cars, having all 280Zs, ZXs, and Z31 300ZXs, I finally get one of the elusive 240Zs. Been wanting a 240 for probably 10 years now, and finally got one. Needs a little work, which most of which was supposed to have been done by the previous owner, but when I confronted him about it, suddenly it was his "plan" to have certain things done, or order parts to isntall once he got it out of the body shop, etc. Overall it was still a fair trade and I'm not too upset about it. It supposedly has a rebuilt 2.4, probably just a stock rebuild, nothing hotrodded. It has an E31 head, supposed to have a cam in it too. Has the dual round top 4 screw SUs and also supposedly has an LSD, guess I'll find that out when I have the back end jacked up some time down the road. The motor runs and sounds pretty good, but runs rich as hell. He said the SUs need to be rebuilt, but that's ok, I have a set of rebuilt triple Webers on the way, looking for a header next. Anyways, the body has some rust. The floor pans need to be replaced (one thing he said he had done) because the p/o before him just put flat sheet metal crudely bent to fit the contours of the underside and tacked in place, then glassed over the top on the interior. Most of the rust/holes on the interior are in spots that the new floor pans from MSA will replace. Only thing from there on the interior is to patch a small hole in the spare tire well, then cut out another small patch or two of rust that's not ate through, but might as well get in the spare tire area also. Then the battery tray needs work, I'll probably just cut that part out of a good rust free Z if I can't match up some sheet metal nicely to the cars contours and shape. Other than that, just a bit of sanding, some prime, and paint as far as the body is concerned. On to the pics:
  7. Got a 240Z yesterday with pans that were supposed to have been replaced. Well the guy lied and the pans are just crudely bent metal welded halfassedly, and then fiberglassed for a pan on the interior. I'd like to pick up a set of new pans/rails to have someone install, and thought I'd see if anyone had a used set I could pick up before I paid for a new set from MSA or ZED Findings.
  8. I just got a 240Z today with a bad radiator. If anyone has a nice used aluminum radiator that's a direct bolt in and is in good shape, let me know what you've got. Cash in hand.
  9. Whew, that is more carbon fiber than I can shake a stick at! lol Slick Z, red just isn't for me. He did a good job for sure!
  10. I'm picking up a 240Z in a couple days with a carbon fiber hood, and front/rear bumpers. The car is freshly primered so I can choose any color I want (leaning towards Viper Blue) but wanted to see some S30s with some carbon on them for ideas of what colors I might like with these parts.
  11. I'm looking at a guy's 83 ZX Turbo but has bad paint. Curious if anyone can give me pics of their ZXs in the stock color in good shape. The following pic is the color I'm talking about, looks purply maroonish...
  12. Thanks for the heads up, but you're way out in Arizona and it's stock. I'm looking for lightly modded cars in TN, GA, AL, KY, FL, etc.
  13. I'm looking to buy another car. I have 5k cash and would like to see what you guys have for sale. I want a 70-78 Z, manual only. It doesn't matter if it's been v8 converted, or turbo converted, or just a plain ol nasty n/a L motor. Don't really want one that's going to win showroom stock awards, I want one that's been modified a little. I prefer 240s or 260s, but 280s are not a problem at all. Let me know what you've got. Also, might trade my Lexus SC400 with some cash towards one.
  14. Oh hell, while that'd be a ton of fun, I don't have anywhere NEAR the money to pick up a motor like that lol
  15. What ya got? I want the mounts and all that stuff.
  16. I've got a 77 280Z with the only rust being a small hole in the pass. floor pan. It has a pantera hatch, molded rear fender flares for wide wheels, BRE style spoiler, JDM fender mirrors, Sparco steering wheel, crossdrilled rotors, and probably some other things. I'm asking $1000 as it sits (roller like you want) or $800 w/o the hatch or fender mirrors.
  17. Ahh dammit, didn't realize guys were making them again lol Well do you know what they're selling them for? Maybe I could base a price off of that.
  18. I've got a Z with a Pantera hatch and a guy somewhat local is interested in it. I kinda like the look of it, but think the car would look better with a standard hatch. The car has wide molded in fender flares and it just doesn't really seem to click with the Pantera. What do you think the value of the hatch is? He's offered to trade a stock hatch plus cash for it, but I don't want to give him some astronomical price if it's way above what one is really worth, and I don't want to give it away either. I know Panteras are near impossible to find so I know it's worth something.
  19. I've got my rolling chassis 280Z I might part with. Pantera hatch, molded fender flares, JDM fender mirrors, etc.
  20. Yeah, looks like HRE to me. If they really are, be prepared to spend a month's salary on just one wheel
  21. Yeah I saw that, but then again if I recall correctly on my old 77 when I had brake light trouble, the switch itself on the pedal mount only has 2 wires. One for power, and one to run the signal back to the tail lights, I may just run a seperate wire for that to the brake lights and split it off, because I don't really see how the wiring harness will be able to send power through that orange wire with the design of the Z's brake light circuit, but then again I don't really know anything about wiring haha And the harness isn't crap, it isn't bad actually. I got it all figured out pretty much when I started laying the wires out to break them into subharnesses. One for the front lights, one for the altrenator, one for the various engine items that weren't in the lights harness. Then one for the rear lights, various rear, gauge associated wires, and of course the column wires are in their own bundle with all the GM connectors and terminals.
  22. I'm stumped on splitting up the rear lighting wire. Which wire do I use to get the brake pedal signal to the rear lights? I've got parking and turn signals set aside, but I dunno if I need to use the orange Third Brake wire and split it myself to both tail lights for brake lights or not.
  23. I'm going to start seperating wire groups on this EZ Wiring kit I got and want to make sure I've got all the wires checked off that go into the engine bay and the rear section so I'm on the right track. For the engine bay, I've got the parking lights, head lights, turn signals, horn, coil, and wiper power since the stock plug that powers the wipers is poking out of the firewall on the engine bay side. For the rear, I've got rear parking lights, tail lights, rear turn signals and that's it. The harness doesn't have a backup light option, which I can probably just figure up a simple circuit for; same way with the electric fuel pump option. I'm sure when I'm going throgh, re-seperating these wires if I missed any I'll pick up on it, just want to make sure I'm not missing something that I think goes with the cab wiring section but actually needs to be in the engine bay or whatever.
