  1. A little college advice from the wise one? Hahaha I love my 3.55 gears.
  2. I personally know of at least half a dozen cars that have been to 24#. I won't be pushing quite that hard. It was down in the 60's here tonight. I don't know if it was the cool air, or the cool pavement, but WOW she really cooks the tires! haha its so much fun. Way better than the old setup. You can actually carry on a conversation while driving, and when you lay into it, hang on!
  3. Any video over 720 is pointless, IMO. You can't tell the difference, and it takes FOREVER to process.
  4. I still plan on throwing another 4-6# and 2-3 degrees at it !
  5. IIRC, all the red/ blue PCM's can go with red/ blue harnesses. I'd run the LS1 harness - less modification.
  6. If you're going in a straight line, do a live axle. 8.8's can be just as reliable (and cheaper) than a 9".
  7. Turned it up a little last night. Its on 14# now, and is a COMPLETELY different animal.
  8. Well its only 5# right now. I'd imagine its in the mid 400's. I'll probably do a baseline dyno pull whenever we put it on the rollers with more boost, just so I know.
  9. Quick and dirty video I put together last night.
  10. Not sure. The corvette pan would be the one to get, but I'm pretty sure they are all the same.
  11. If you plan on lowering the car, you might seriously consider an LS3 pan. I picked up almost an inch of ground clearance. Also, the baffling is improved over the F Body pan. F Body will get the job done though!
  12. It might have a little positive camber to it. I have a ton more negative I could do, but want to keep it like this to keep the slicks away from the towers.
  13. Its in full boost by about 2800-3000 rpm - according to my logs. So, spool? This cam from Tick Performance is doing WORK.
  14. I haven't forgotten about you guys on the videos. I can't find my suction cup mount, and the interior of the car is pretty loud right now with no sound deadener or insulation. The videos are pretty poor quality. I'll get some that you can actually hear the spool, and post those up after the holiday. Everyone have a safe and fun FOJ!
  15. I did. I opened the top and bottom up to .028". IIRC the tops were pretty close at .024"
  16. 8.8 is the best thing I've done to my z. Besides the lsx/turbo
  17. I usually take the intake off, and bolt to the front pass. head, and rear driver head with a chain. Just make sure you have enough thread engagement, and you're golden. OR you can bolt to the AC boss, and one of the bellhousing bolts on the driver's side. Again, just make sure the threads of the bolt are fully engaged. really any of the M10 bolt holes are sufficient.
  18. Thanks guys. I did drive it yesterday, about 60 miles. Everything worked flawlessly, and the gate controlled boost right at 6#. I have a strange sync issue I can't figure out, so my real-time logging wasn't working, and I didn't beat on it that much.
  19. Car is 99% done, hoping to drive it tomorrow. Here's a shot of the seats / harnesses installed. I ended up building a harness bar until the cage gets in. Under hood. No prop rod... yet.
  20. Iron blocks are closer to 100# heavier. I say split the difference and get an aluminum 5.3. Better engines overall as well, and will likely be found with less mileage.
  21. Got the car to warm up to temp and verify all the wiring and fan is working correctly. Crazy how much the FG wrap smokes! Blew a hole in my floor for the battery box. I'm using a Duralast 8AMU1R battery. Friend of mine made the box - Thanks Steve! And from the bottom. There's plenty of clearance for everything, but the box still needs mounted and finished.
  22. Judging by your post, you have quite a bit to learn. It would be in your best interest to take the next month, and search this forum, as well as LS1tech.com, and read. I don't want to be that guy, but every question you've asked, and likely will ask has been covered here and ls1tech in great detail. There are several members on here (myself included) that have extensive and thorough build threads that will be of great help to you. I suggest you start there. It is not my intent to break your spirits, however you do have a lot to learn. Happy reading!
