  1. Finished up the engine harness. Heater box / under dash misc. Everything under the hood is buttoned up, except for some cold side piping
  2. Some people do. It takes a lot of system design, but it can work. The butt mount's just aren't typically as responsive.
  3. @ Keith - With my setup (two pass. manifolds flipped) its not bad at all. The pass side will be tricky, but do-able. The next kit I do will have a down and forward configuration, vs the mix i have now.
  4. I'd be as concerned with the brand / model of the stall. Precision Industries, Yank, and Circle D are all big names with great results. Note that some stalls will flash higher than advertised, and some lower. My PI Vigilante was set up for 4K, and would flash to 4400 in a 3400# car. I'd go with a 3500 or 4000 without blinking though. The drive-ability will be good with any of the above mentioned.
  5. Cool! Holy road noise batman. Get yourself a Micover for that bad boy.
  6. I've focused my time on getting my car running. It will be a side project once its on the road. Til then..... a stick will suffice.
  7. Seals-it makes great grommets. I have a couple of them in my setup.
  8. Whew. Labor intensive weekend. PIcked up some Hushmat and started laying it on the firewall. I'll be doing the whole car once the cage is in to minimize the amount of damage. I then laid a layer of "be cool" insulation on top of this. Should really improve the feel and more importantly, the temperature inside the car. Next I went to town on the body harness. Pulling spare / dead wires and fixing shoddy work done by previous owners. This is my pile of excess when I was about 3/4 of the way done. Here I'm just checking the length of the harness, and adding wires for switches ( line lock, 2 step, etc.) That's all for tonight. Hoping to get the wiring wrapped up, the cooling system installed, and be driving it sometime this week. Seems like my timeline just keeps getting pushed, but I keep finding things that need attention. In due time, I suppose.
  9. Correct. Its the Holley HP EFI system. Very cool technology and its even somewhat user-friendly!
  10. Yep! Its always a little nerve racking, especially with this being the first motor I've put together top to bottom. She sounds good though (like a sewing machine) LOL.
  11. Mostly referring to using the N2O to spool the turbo. I ran my LS on nitrous last year. Now I'm balls deep finishing up wiring to try and get a turbo car on the road.
  12. You kids and your nitrous... haha
  13. What went boom? Engine? Or just a nitrous backfire?
  14. Didn't get much done last night. Ran around getting things (resistors, connectors, brake lines, brake fluid, oil / filter for the daily, paying bills) and didnt get much done on the Z. Leaving tonight to head home for a funeral, so there will be no progress this weekend. Sigh. Its close.
  15. Engine harness is almost done. I'm going to fire the car tonight hopefully, and then re-wrap the harness. I had to move, lengthen, or add a bunch of wires so I just completely stripped it. Nothing like cutting up new parts!
  16. The magnum shifter has 6 bolts, and is about twice the size of a normal t56. I would have had to open the tunnel up about another 6" in front of the shifter boot to get at all of them. We'll see. Its easy to cut it back out if I ever need to haha. Its kinda nice not caring about sheet metal.
  17. Filled the monster hole in my trans tunnel last night. Made a template In the car Tacked Welded
  18. Jon, That looks like a great solution, but by shear design of the suspension on an S30 it would be difficult. Do-able, but difficult. I finished up my front mount this weekend.
  19. Also picked up some side work to keep things moving along. Came from an 800whp cobra and was making gear noise. Guess what?! It got hot because the cluster gear was starved for oil!! Anything above 600WHP, ABSOLUTELY put a fluid pump on it, or you're on borrowed time. I have one planned for mine, but not immediately (no Dinero!)
  20. Well the last week was hell for me at work. I put in a cool 102 hours in 7 days. Finally got back in the garage this weekend, and got some stuff done. Finished the new diff mount. Reason for new front diff mount: Both the 14mm bolts holding the diff to the rear mount were quite bent. I knew the old mount was letting the diff move, but I had no idea how much!!! Also got the fuel tank back in. I really like how the sump turned out.
  21. Just build your own. You'll be far money ahead and you'll be happier with the end result. http://randyellisdesign.com/?wpsc-product=110-diy-caged-bushing-tubular-race-motor-mount-kit-duplicate-2
  22. Quoted for truth! Keeps the pistons clean. The concern for me was somehow scooping a bunch of water up. I have an engine block table that shows what happens when you do that (from a friend). I used a plastic cutting board and black tape in case of emergencies when I got caught in the rain.
  23. Heard that. Had to be at work all weekend, so I hardly got shit done. Put in 26 hours the last two days
