  1. I received them yesterday, and I must say, it is probably the best $100 I've ever spent. The quality was great. They were fully weled / port matched to the flange on the inside, where it counts. I had to ding the #1 primary just a fuzz, and remove the knock sensor (not being used anyway), and put a brass plug in. Other than that, They fit great, and I should have the exhaust finished up shortly, and have this beast on the road!!!
  2. I guess time will tell. At the VERY worst, I can have a buddy of mine TIG them.
  3. Are you talking like right when you're sitting in the car, or looking at it? Passenger or driver side?
  4. Thats an easy fix. I'm pretty handy with a MIG. What do you mean how am I going to install them?
  5. Well I said to hell with it, and bought them. Total was $ 113.89. I'll keep ya posted.
  6. I was just wondering if anyone has ever used these / bought from this company? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180470713150&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_3346wt_1504 Can't beat that price, and they're stainless. The description is pretty vague. I was just wondering what my options are, as a $600 pair of Hooker headers is not in my budget right now. And yes, I did search. I'd appreciate a link to something educational, rather than google. Thanks!
  7. I'm lovin the gold bowtie hidden back on the radiator. Occasionally I like to let the f-body owner in me hang my mullet out the window.
  8. Glad to hear you're alright man. That is the first thing on my shopping list, for both my cars, a fire extinguisher. It would KILL me to watch my car burn to the ground in the return late at the drag strip. Keep one in the shop at all times, for just that reason. Look forward to some more #'s!
  9. After some looking, I'd probably mount them inside the cowl. Like the "firewall" area. Plenty of room in there, and just snake the wires down and out. Just a thought.
  10. Could we get a list of mods? Trans? Carb? I'd appreciate it.
  11. Nice. I'll be needing a cage in my car soon. Haven't ever done much tubing bending. I'd like to try my hand at it. I'm pretty good with a MIG, so I think I could make it happen.
  12. Sounds like a mean setup. I just picked up a 78 280z with a 355sbc. It might be getting some giggle gas in the near future.
  13. Couple of questions for ya. 1. What class / spec are you building this car for? 2. What kind of a tubing bender do you have? 3.Chromoly or mild steel? Looks good from this angle!
  14. This is yet another question I would post on LS1tech. There are far more LS gurus over there.
  15. :icon46:LOL this is the truth. I think my camaro gets about 10 in town. 18 highway. not bad for a ~450 wheel horse, 3600lb ride though.
  16. sorry for grave-diggin, but i was just wondering if someone can direct me to where to price a set of those flares. For some reason the link says I don't have access to it. Thanks!
  17. I'm going to say yes. You will likely have fitment issues. the 6l80e is a massive transmission. Just my opinion though, I have been wrong before
  18. For the money involved, and the power produced, I say there is no better engine than the LS series. Its common to find a 5.3 out of a pickup / suv for $350 or less. Search craigslist if you don't believe me. Put a car intake on it, switch the cam, and viola, 400 rwhp. Cam only f-bodies have been making 400rwhp for years. The record for a heads / cam ls1 is well north of 550. You must also take into account the parasitic solid rear axle. On a side note, I just bought a '78 280z with a SBC/th350. Picking it up this weekend. I'm torn as to what direction to go with it. Cheap, old school, learn about carbs. Or, keep me in my element with an LS engine. But they are more expensive to modify. Sorry for the pseudo thread jack
  19. I can chime in here. I've run dex-cool in both my 99 grand prix, and all of my LS Camaro's. No problems whatsoever. As stated earlier, you don't wanna mix, or do any of the other aforementioned things. Also, if your cooling system has an air leak, it will turn that stuff to the consistency of cottage cheese. Not pretty.
  20. I love the build man. Car looks sick! I'm hopefully going to be getting into a Z car sometime soon, and it's going to get nothing other than an LS motor.
