  1. The "quick Spool" valve is quickly gaining popularity in the LS1 crowd, especially the rear mount turbo guys. If you go on tech and search "zombie quick spool valve" there is a lot of info about it. I've often wondered why no front mount guys use one, as it dramatically reduces spool time. Looking forward to seeing your experience! and No, it's not a datsun, but it's the same concept as your car AND, He's from KANSAS. New stock bottom end LS Record!
  2. My hat goes off to you my friend. Looks nice. I find it hard to believe it's taken the market this long for someone to come up with this! Looks sick, none the less.
  3. Alright. Thanks. I suppose i'll try to get to the shop tonight to start taking pictures of everything. Feel free to make offers people!
  4. It was built by a shop, no reciepts to prove it though, sadly. What's it take to become a donating member? And yes, make offers if you're interested!

  6. This would be awesome. However, it couldn't come at a poorer financial situation for me. I'd have to hold off at LEAST 6 months to buy. I do like the idea though. A LOT
  7. Did I miss the part about the cage? Where did you get it? Weld in? How many pt? Pictures? Thanks!
  8. So is the engine bay all wrapped up? I'd like to see a completed picture. Also, what headers are those that you used? Did you have then on your engine when it was N/A?
  9. so, about $100, worst case scenario. That's what i paid for those three items in the ls1 f-car variety, which are slightly harder to get a hold of.
  10. Thats about the same thing i did for the oil pressure sender on my SBC. except i used small brass pipe and fittings.
  11. It's a lot easier to get your point across if you punctuate correctly. That being said, yes, the OEM computers are quite capable of handling much more power than you'll ever need. And another valid point; there are PLENTY of competent tuners out there. All it takes is basic engine theory, and running a spreadsheet, and you can tune!
  12. yeah, I guess you could just throw money at the problem? F-body pans can be bad for around $200, complete. That's the route that I ended up going. Those aftermarket pans are nice, If you MUST have one, but I think that's money that could be spent on something a little more prudent.
  13. You just need to make sure that the crank pulley and all the accessories are the same. The water pumps have a large pulley, so they work on all f body and gto and corvette applications. However, the spacing on all the rest of the accessories varies from model to model. The corvette accessories are the most compact, but F body accessories are more common.
  14. I would say the supercharging vs turbo on the 'Vette has to do with drivability as well. With the tall gears the vette has, being a dog down low would make it a real turd to drive. Plus, when the engine hit boost (turbo), it would likely come on very violently, causing loss of traction, and / or control. Seeing how these cars were designed to be road raced, it is less than ideal to have to brake boost through the corner inorder to have a scorching exit speed. Just my opinion, I've been wrong before.
  15. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^I like those wheels! What are the specs on em? How much?
  16. $500 sounds a bit high. For those interested, search "Zombie quick spool valve" This has become quite the hot topic for remote mounted turbo LS1 cars.
  17. haha, thanks. but no thanks. My 3 vehicles keep all my money tied up. I guess I can think of it as my 401K
  18. Lookin good! I'm collecting parts right now as well. However, the tranny in my DD just took a chit, so the project has slowed. Considerably.
  19. Yeah, I have both the 3 and 4 speed gates. Other than the adjustment issues I've been having, its a great shifter.
  20. Lots of people are ill-informed on the subject of LS-based engines. I hear alot of things from newcomers that just make me The very best thing you can do is buy a book or two on the subject, and read your little heart out. It will save you lots of searching, and it is nice to have for a reference. I believe Carcraft is the maker of my favorite LS1 books. I'll have to dig them out!
  21. Colt, where did you buy the piece that you adjust shifter linkage with? The one that bolts directly under the pan, on the drivers side of the transmission. I currently have a B&M Pro stick on my th350 in my sbc z, but I've been battling shifter linkage issues, using the stock "fork" thing to adjust with. Thanks!
  22. The T-56 transmission is built by Tremec. It was used in several GM models, as well as a beefed up version being put in the dodge viper, ever since its creation. The viper is only offered in a 6 speed, and it is known to be quite bulletproof. On the other hand, Mustang Cobras, the "terminator" cars, came with a 6 speed as well. This is also a T56. However, it has small differences that render it useless to others, such as different input and main shafts. Different years, and models, have different characteristics, such is triple cone synchros, etc etc. GM has since, in the C6 Vette I believe, progressed to the TR6060, which is an upgraded version of the t56.
  23. The stock F-body t56 is rated to 450 lb/ft of torque. There are affordable upgrades that push that limit to 700 lb/ft. ( ~$600) There are ways of making them quite stout, however, using OEM parts, such as the viper mainshaft, or the SSR mainshaft. (See attached File) 800-1000hp_rated_LS_Fbody_T56.pdf As for the GTO t56 being stronger, I say that is a false statement. However, they are geared different (lower) with the MN12 gearset, to move the tanks that a lot of people call GTO's.
