  1. Anyone done this before? Is the cressida afm actually bigger than the turbo zx afm. I have a n/a ecu set up running a turbo motor and swapped the guts on the n/a afm into a turbo afm a long time ago.   2. Ive seen the Afm cause this on 4 diffrent turbo z cars. I dont even drive my Z untill its hot, be nice to your car.
  3. Working on a friends Z 81zxt. The timing is all over the place. Set it to 20 and it runs great,then 5 min later very bad(backfires and sputters)and the timing is off +/- 10deg or so. At that point you have to just turn the dist untill the car runs good, sometimes set to 30,40 or even 10deg. . We changed ecu and dist several times no change. You can actually watch the timing change; any ideas?

  5. You did say "a bit" more power right? All of this is good for 130-140hp @the wheels. Stock is like 115-120hp some times worse.
  6. U should get intake and exhaust first. Biggest bang for the buck. Dont go super cheap though, name brands only. U can also mess w/ the cam gear for diffrent powerband ranges. Use only ngk plugs Bpr6es-11 stock #7133,all others suck in a z. Have fun
  7. Fan control is nice. Are there diffrent settings for on temp and off temp? How about boost timing retard, Im running a Hi6s crane unit now. I guess I could leave that hooked up the way it is. Will it get rid of the profectB too? I think Ill go with msns extra When I load up, just not looking foward to the down time. Well I guess If anyone has a good set up file that they would like to share let me know. Tnx all
  8. I was wondering if you can share data fom MSnS to MSnS? This would really speed up tuning once installed on my zxt. Of course it wouldnt be perfect but a very short learning curve would be nice.

  14. Should I wait for the ultra ver. to come out? Where can I buy the full setup simulator, relays, sensors , harness ect? How much ? These prices are unbelievable... The autronics sys is $2000.00 and it sounds like this sys (ultra) will do the same. thanks all
  15. Thanks for everyones time. I have a ribic piggy back sys that is running 1 720cc inj and a 550cc inj. I am running the stock n/a ecu and a crain hi6s for retard. t3/t4 ceramic bb 57 trim w/ a custom exh wheel. 6 225cc balanced a bp. inj's. I make about 350 rwhp with this set up, but now its time to lose the airflow meter if I want anymore hp. Will the megasquirt control timing, fuel, ect. ?

  18. So take the resistance out, its a z car not a semi. Put the car on a dyno and if you are geared to only go 100mph at max rpm. you can only go 100mph, even if you have 1000hp. My previous set up I hit 176 on the dyno. Now that I changed the rear end to the 88 model and 17" wheels I would be lucky to hit 130mph. I would like to know If any one else has a 83 trany and a 88 vlsd w/ 17s. If so What do U cruise at around 3000rpm?

  20. So if a car was geared to go 100mph and it had 10hp,and you up the hp to 100 would it not still go 100mph? just get there faster right?
  21. My curve flattens out at 3500-4800. Both hp and tq are in paralell curvature. And stays realatively flat for the duration of that rpm range. It did produce (last dyno run) 321hp&300lb tq. Allot of changes have been made since then. My goal is to pull a C6 to 150mph and right now it rocks all the way to 125mph, but has nothing left. I guess I would like more top end which would transalate into a lower cruising speed (rpm) at 65mph in 5th. This next tune we are expecting 400 hp which will be even more fun but even more uncontrollable due to the gearing. Larger tires will help 10mph mabey; but my real ? is to find a # or something on the trans and diff that tell me what they are. Gearing is something I know nothing about and now that its a issue its time to learn. Thanks again for everones help
  22. I used a MR2 pod and there was very little trimming. Even the angle was dead on. Just align so that u can get a screw driver in the bottom hole (of the pillar trim) through empty pod to attach the trim back. Use some double sided tape (to prevent the plastic to plastic rub noise) and a couple pop rivets. ur done. Strong as plastic
