  1. 1998 Trans Am with 18k!!!!!!

    Pull this one down in 2 nights because I had a lot of practice with the Camaro and 1tuffz made me work n learn the first time! Nothing wrong with that cause I got it done almost alone this time. EVERYTHING off this car is for sale! I was thinking about keeping the motor/tranny for another LS1 swap into a 260z but I think one car will be fine. So here are some pics of the tear down.....

  2. Thanks EvilC' date='

    A few years ago this is exactly what I would've done. I can't do that kind of work anymore so I need to find a complete engine and hire a mechanic to install it. I can do some light-duty work... pull heads, intake, distributer... those sorts of things.

    I understand.... well then I guess that combo at that price isn't that bad. That is very low mileage, so I would say go for it and get another LS1 Z on the road.

  3. Today I changed the oil and filter in the Z and I wasn't feeling all that well...a bit groggy. I have the turbo oil cooler line adapter where the filter screws on. Well I usually check the old filter to see if the rubber ring stuck to the engine. Well' date=' the filter slipped out of my hand and fell into the oil drain pan. I just threw out a few words and screwed on the new filter. I put the car down, and added the oil, started it, and PHOOOSH!!! oil all over the side of the block and the floor!! I let out several more choice words and plunked my hand into the oil to fish out the old filter...no rubber seal!!!..@*&@#^.

    I knew about this old noob mistake since I worked at a dealership a long time ago and I always oil the seal before I put on the filter. However, you always get bit when you least expect it![/quote']

    You suck! LoL

  4. Sucks you only got 250 for the Brakes. Ive seen the Rear with Backing Plates go for 200+ alone. and close to 150 or 200 with Spindles for the Front.

    I still have my Fronts Might keep them around to see if I can get them to work on the Datsun

    $250 was the price because he had to come pull them himself......which in the long run he couldn't do and needed some help from David aka 1tuffz.

  5. ok guys' date=' went to the dyno and don't anticipate any other extra costs at this point so i can consider that my swap is about complete. before any naysayers get busy picking apart my list below keep this in mind. i have NOT included any of my own labor [probably in excess of $6k if i had to shell it out'] and was fortunate/lucky/blessed that i was able to sell off other parts-both from my donor car and the supercharged L28 i pulled from my z. so, with that disclaimer written, here i now drop my financial pants for the hybridz world to see! also, as i've said before-i would have NEVER would have been able to do this without my hybridz.org!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU ALL!!

    this list includes items sold that were pulled from car for swap

    Hey David... $10.19 a hp isn't bad! For the money spent and what you got out of it, is more than what you can ask for. Congrats on the numbers and it keeps me going n pushing to get my car done.

    So when are we gonna get to 400 rwhp! :icon52:....lol

  6. As of right now I have recovered $3000 of the $6200 spend on the 02' Camaro. I am still selling parts as we speak and should be able to get the other 3K within the next 4 weeks. I have enough parts left now that should cover it. Online sites have been a great way to selling these parts and Ebay is the best for getting the parts out there. In ever item I listed I had a line describing the Camaro and had contact info to get parts from me without me listing and saving money. Let me say this, yes it is a lot more work than just buying the motor n tranny but in the long run it pays off. As some of you may have read in 1tuffz post about his est $3500 LS1 swap, I would like to keep number some what near that. I know for sure I'll be a little higher beceause I am starting from a shell basically. An example of my part out goes:

    Leather int -> $600

    Rear End -> $150

    Radio Head Unit -> $122

    Seat Belts -> $54

    All Brakes -> $250

    Center Console with shift boot -> $150

    Carpet-> $75

    Fender -> $100

    Hatch struts -> $50

    Shift Knob -> $22

    Ttops-> $211

    Ttop Shades -> $50

    I still have the 2 doors....all the rims.....dash and so on! The little items adds up!!!!!!

    Just my thought.

  7. Just wanted to see if anyone would like to take this off my hand. Made from fg and I know it is a g nose front bumper. I was tring to get the front air dam but the guy wouldn't give it up. Maybe I can try again.......how many different companies made g-nose conversions? Thanks, hope not to get blasted on this topic. I did search first but you guys know more than you type....lol.

    Thanks

  8. I buy bulk diesel' date=' typically 2000 gallons/month and I got 1000 gallons yesterday for $2.82/gallon and my bulk supplier is telling me that $3.50 a gallon is where it's going to level off at, so just accept it. Why, who cares, you can't do anything about it. Me, I just raise my prices like everyone else, my freight charge is up to $4.25 a loaded mile or $100 an hour depending on whether it's highway or rural roads. My landscape rock is up from $30/yd last year to $35/yd this year and if this keeps going up, will be $37/yd by mid summer.

    [/quote']

    I was watching the news or cnn I think, where this guy who had a bunch of gas trucks was selling bulks of gas to people 2 or 3 years ago at the current price. So one guy bought something like 4 grand in gas and when he goes to fill up now, he is still paying at the rate of $1.99/gal! Cool idea and all but when your credit runs out.........they will be like the rest of us paying high prices.
