Damm I wish you guys lived closer!
Hoping to start a project up in Buffalo early next year for my work so If I am in the area I will send an email to see about stopping by.
EvilC and 1tuffz wow both LS1's I am jealous
I only have about 8K to play with so I am working on a budget for an LT1/T56 swap.
EvilC' date=' almost done parting out the Maro?
Greg
1978 280Z needing bodywork, welding, and LT1/T56[/quote']
Maro has about $600 left to be payed off with more than enough parts to cover it. I took a break for partin the parts out cause I went on vacation n school just started this week. Do you already have the LT1/T56 combo yet? 8k! can buy a nice wrecked car n when ur done partin out I am sure you can make some money back or have ur motor and tranny almost for nothing.
By early next yr I hope to maybe have the motor fired up, we have to wait n see how much school wants out my pocket first!

I paid $200 for my whole car, and the hood didn't have any damage like that, just some rusty pinholes on the leading edge...That looks like the hood of my old 280 that got run into by a horse in it's previous life.
It is still a great deal......he is even gonna box it up for me....lol

Hey Brad' date='
Had a great time hanging with you guys at the Exoctic car show meet last Saturday.
Seeing all those beautiful Z cars really got my Z craving going again!!!
I joined ZCCNE on Monday.
I plan on getting everything together this winter and start putting it together late winter and all through spring hoping to have it driveable by the end of spring.
I am going to hit you guys up at ZCNNE for advice and contacts on local help for the stuff I can't do, I am confident I can do the swap mechanically and electrically but need to get ahold of the right contacts people for welding, bodywork, driveshaft welding etc.
so I will be in contact and will post some pictures as soon as I remove all the stuff sitting atop the Z right now!
Don't remember the name of the guy in Albany do ya? A ZANY member?
Talk later,
Greg[/quote']
1tuffz is in Rochester NY with a complete swap ls1/t56
I hope to get mine done this winter also.....

Well since "everyone" has plans....I guess we will have to cancel this one.
We can all try again next summer.
Next time we plan way in advance so everyone can have that weekend free.....I am going to start a new thread with an idea of a Tri-State Z club....I wonder how many would really want to be a part of that?
Till next time

since some of the guys are heading up to the glen is a week or so why dont u hold the "get together" there or is that too much of a hassle for the NJ crew?
Yeah it is to far for most people.
I checked the weather today and Sunday so far is a go! So I will begin calling everyone to confirm and set a time of about 10am. This way we can either catch breakfast or lunch. Hope we get more than 10 people........
Are some of you cross posting on Zcar?

Answered my own question when I went back and read the Ebay ad.
Even so how much could the car bring in if repaired? I still think parting it out will be the best way to recover the money you shelled out.
-
for the love of God do not junk that car. it is a stripper car that is very very very rare. it looks like the damage could be repaired. you are looking at a desirable and rare car.
Really? Could you explain alil more........ does it weigh a lot less than fully loaded model or am I missing something?

Just submitted the dowmpayment. It's a 2002 Z28 LS1/T56 w/ 41' date='000 miles. Complete but with body damage basically from the rear tires back and the passenger door. Otherwise in really nice shape. Now I've just got to arrange shipping to get it here (Cali to Illinois). Got it for $6150 excluding shipping which seemed fair considering LS1/T56 dropouts seem to be going for about $4,800. I figure as long as I can part it out for over about a grand it'll break even with piecing it together. Anything over that'll be gravy. Unfortunately it's a stripped no option model but still should still have a lot of parts. I should also be able to save in terms of fuel pump, radiator, etc that would have to have been bought anyway. Wife's not terribly happy there'll be a 'piece of crap' in the backyard for a while but oh well. Anyone have suggestions how to part out the large pieces other than e-bay (kind if hard to ship a hood or windshield for example) would be much appreciated.
Now I've got to also sell off the L6 stuff (tripple mikuni's, Fidanza flywheel, turbo motor parts, etc). I'm hoping to net out <$5,000 for the entire swap.
Woohoo

Heavy where are you located? You would want to find local Fbody clubs so you can sell huge items local and save yourself the time with ebay. Another way to get your parts out there is ls1.com and ls1tech.com. When you list on Ebay be sure to mention you have an entire parts car and for people to contact you with their needs. If you do this I know for sure 5 items can generate 20 questions about stuff that you do not even have listed for sale.
You will def be able to get more than a grand in parts......
Where is our pics of the car?
Good luck.....glad to hear another LS1 Z is on the way

Damn......looks great!
