  1. I think I saw EvilC on the news tonight. They were talking about street racing in the Bronx. I think EvilC was on the sidelines laying low while some Hunda did a smoky burnout near McLean Avenue. Those damn kids think they invented something new!!! We were street racing in the Bronx 20 years ago!...damn now I sound old.

Too bad I missed your visit to NYC. I was on vacation out west.

Yes you are getting old! Leave the immature street racing to the young guns. If you watched the news' date=' they are going to crack down due to complaints about traffic hold ups...go figure. Hope your vacation was great and I'll see you at work.

    S. Bronx street races? This past weekend??? What did I miss??? Guy's you have to include me the next time your going to play! Car does look great David. Do you still have the minivan "kill" stickers on there also?

    Joe.

How far are you from Rockland County or the Bronx? We should meet up before summer is out.

  2. Cleaning out the yard before I head back to school in about 6 or so weeks. So I am Ebay'n all the CAMARO and TRANS Am parts to get rid of them. Also going to get rid of the 89 Corolla gts I have...$300 just want it out the yard. So as I plan on cleaning, I have a 1984 Maxima with 92K and still in good shape. I was thinking...hmm how cool would it be to have a V8 rwd maxima. Wouldn't be anytime soon because still working on my ls1 swap in the Z.

What do you think V8 Max a nice sleeper? :-)

Also anyone here done this yet or seen one....I am pretty sure I am not the first with the idea.

Look at what this site did to me! HYBRID EVERYTHING!

  3. I know I spent way too much money on it, but I wanted it to be perfect. Its just going to keep going back to them until I'm happy with it. I hope to get the motor ordered in the next week or 2 so It should only be a few months until it is up and running around. SEZ Shootout maybe?

You WILL be at SEZ Shootout........tell yourself that and you will get it done.

Hey I know to get things perfect n the way you want it, most people will pay to have it done right.

  4. wow 14g and they didnt even sand the runs out? im also suprised someone who has the balls to charge 14g even has runs in his paint jobs

You are right! 14k is a lot of money. Car looks very good from here though and the color is nice. Are you gonna take another 2 yrs to get it on the road? lol

  5. im about ready to remove the glass from the hatch of my car, i started poking at it with a screwdriver and all i did was start to tear the rubber, what did you guys do when you removed the window?

Are you replacing the glass or going with Lexan? Just wondering if you are tring to save some weight?

  6. Hi: Any one remember what engine mout goes on which side L28. long or short on drivers side.I can't remember! I'm getting ready to install the engine.I didn't realize they were different when I took them out..Thank's Mike

Just try and if it doesn't work the first time then that means you have them in the wrong spot...LoL!

Driving the Z to work this week?.......of course not slacker.

  7. If you took a pic of the crack we might be able to tell you if its salvagable....

    Guy

Yeah I will do that tomorrow if it does not rain. Thanks, hope I can do something with it.....if not it will become my donor to learn how to tear down and put back together....lol

  8. you can sleeve the block... that gets kinda expensive though

find another 98 block with a spun bearing and put your rotating assembly in it

Well do to the fact I do not need the motor, I guess anyone here wanna rebuild it? I'll make you a good price. Maybe cygnusx1 could use it in his car and get rid of that old dog he has! :-)

  9. Cleaning the motor up today and found a crack in the block right by the pasn side engine mount. The intake I knew would have to be changed....so now what do I do with the motor? Part the motor out? 18k is still young miles for the motor. I do not want to junk it.

Well atleast I can still sell the T56......

  10. I would have helped you to strip the car but I had to bring my cat to the vet....go ahead laugh. You did a fine job by yourself. Now let's get your LS1 240Z done!!!

Yeah can't believe you didn't want to help me and used your cat to get out of it, some friend! Yeah it wasn't to bad though...and my Z will be on the road as soon as I am done with ALL MY WORK!! LoL

    Clive:

Did you chop the rails on this one to get the motor and tranny? My Firehawk is stripped down and pretty much ready to pull the motor and tranny and I'm still debating which method to use: Chope the rails w/a sawzall or unbolt the k member and crossmember and jack the body up and over.

    Any thoughts?

    Bryan

    Dat240zg

Bryan I would just drop the k member and crossmember the easiest way. Make sure all your lines are disconnecte; undo the k member n crossmember then pull the struts and your done. Should just "fall right out". Have fun.

    Clive
