  2. TIM240Z When you say the 3.54:1 will be a handful, you mean it is hard to get the power to the ground and not good on gas? Guys I guess I really need the ratio best for 1/4 mile and here and the a mile run. The higher the ratio...the worse on gas and better for 1/4 mile? Or vice versa? Thank you for all the help and I am keeping track of all the info in a word document and next time when a newbie ask these questions, I got it. I guess from what I have read so far on the site is that in a 1/4 mile run I would never really get to 6th of course is for freeway driving. I dont plan on driving the car everyday at all, so I dont mind it being alil rough to drive. I guess it really comes down to I have to get the "best" combination of < r-200 : lsd : ratio:> Thanks Clive
  3. LoL tell me about gas prices.....but I live right by the boarder of NJ and gas is always 20 - 40 cent cheaper by the gallon. Which diff do you guys think is the best for dragging....and top end speed?
  4. I am going with a R-200 out of a '94 Q45. Front mounts and CV's I will be reading more about and get a better understanding of what everyone is speaking of. Thanks everyone for the help...please dont stop. More is better! lol Clive
  5. OK, the car basically will be a weekend car that I will street race once in a while. Based on the info you all have said the r-200 with lsd will be all I need. I am just trying to get all the parts together that I need and keep looking for a deal. I am guessing here a 400+hp ls1 engine with a 100 shot of nos is my main goal. Basically all of my questions are geared around that. I am pretty sure I know of a car that I may be able to get a free r200.....77 280 manual.   6. **** I DID SEARCH BEFORE I ASKED ***** Ok guys I am in the planning stages here of the ls1 swap. I know for sure I want a 01 and up ls1. I am going to be using Johns LS1 kit. The area where I need to learn more about and ask questions is sups/ rear end. Is it better to go with a r230 vz r200 for an ls1 swap? The pros and cons of going with either rearend. How much more of a hassle is it to use the r230 and is it worth it? I remember reading a thread that had a debate on the different types of r230 and I will have to search and read it again. I know this maybe a stupid question but most of the results I got were from last year threads and I was just wondering if anyone had updates. Pic of my 73 240 I picked up this week is coming. Thanks for all the advice about starting with a clean shell and not the rust bucket I had. PS... how do you guys put the faces in the thread...example hitting the other face over the head.. =) Clive
  7. Yeah I plan on getting the car running in 3 weeks. The person I bought it from said he never got the carbs dialed in and the car ran really rough. So I plan on watching the video and getting it road ready. I am goin to drive it for now as i get the susps parts and everything else I need...before I start searching for my LS1 swap. The carbs are only 7 months old.....any idea how much they are worth? anyone?
  8. College student here just looking for some work experience. I am looking for internship and willing to work for nearly free =). Willing to travel anywhere here in the northeast.   9. Hey all, Some of you might remember my first car "76 280" that I bought back in Dec. that was a rust bucket. Most of you told me to sell it and find a cleaner shell. That is what I did and now I have a 73 240 with brand new ZThearpy SU carbs on it, that I plan on selling with the video tapes. I have a good idea of where I am gonna start and plan on driving the car in a few weeks. I am just waiting for school to be over and be home so i can sell my current car on ebay. When I started looking into a project car, I came across the video of the 240z through ares and since the night I downloaded it and watch for 30 mins straight, I was stuck on getting a 240 myself. That was 8 months ago and I am finally getting a 240z next week "birthday gift" and the long road to a ls1 swap starts. Darius your car is one of a kind......Thanks for the videos!!

  12. I will be picking up my Z in about 3 weeks a 73 240.... I hope to get it running by summer, and maybe drive up with a few of you guys. I am new to the Z club.....and wouldn't mind making some friends around here. I live in Rockland County, but my dad has his shop in the Bronx. So let me know guys. Hey Z-rex hope you get that break problem fixed.....or you can always down shift! lol
  13. Just wondering if anyone from lower Ny....like near NYC.. is planning on going to the Z convention this year. I have not been able to find any Z clubs in the lower half of Ny. Just so input from anyone out there....thanks.
  14. Here is some input from someone who is about to buy a Z. I would say keep your Z man! You have something that many people look and in the end a SE-R is just a Sentra. Out here in NYC I see a few of them running around "there own club" but many people would def rather see a good looking Z roll by. I had a Supercharged Corolla gts and honestly it was still a Corolla. Keep the Z! You won't regret it.
  15. Well guys I think I found the 240z for my LS1 swap. Of course this was the hard part for me. After buying that 280z that some of you may remember which was a rust bucket. I found one here in upstate NY in great condition thanks to david aka "1TUFFZ". I hope to get it within the next few weeks here and get it running for the convention this year. Won't be the best looking, but def running. =) This summer I will be getting the John Car Kit and just stock pile everything for next yr. By the way anyone know of anyone looking for a 5-series BMW to buy? Well thanks again Hybridz....hopefully attempt number 2 will go beter.
