Heavy85, I am glad to see you enjoying your Z. I still have a smile on my face and still look around when I pull up to a stop light to see who is looking at the Z! LOL It is a great feeling when you know you worked on something and you really enjoy driving it. I just can't wait until my car is as clean as I would like it to be....body/paint/int....but that will come with time. I love driving my half 25 yr old paint, half primer Z! It sounds great.... As for me, the project took me about 6 months longer than I wanted it to. I had school and lack of money to slow me down. Even when you plan, there are always things and parts that get in the way. Boy I remember the feeling of 20 boxes of parts around and in the Z. Plan the work and work the Plan. Clive PS Kbhead, you are going to have one badass Z when you are done....I would love to do a LS2. In a few years....hopefully more than 5....when I blow up the LS1....I am thinking LS7...lol

I gotta learn how to quote more than one person in a post.....lol Right now I am in the car around $20K-$23K. That includes everything to get the car where it is right now. Price does not include the cost of the motor/tranny/pcm/fans....they were free when I parted out my donor LS1.

Pete we must have met but I do not remember who you are. I was 1 of only 3 LS1 Z's there. You will be very happy with it....are you going to the next convention?

Because at the end of the day you will be very happy you did! This thread is to help the guys out there who are doing the v8 swaps and might be getting a little down due to move or the scope of the project. As some of you may remember, I was going to sell my Z last year and I have very happy I didn't. 6 months later I still get a joy from starting the car up and taking it for a spin. Yes it looks like crap but it is my crap. Look through my old post and see where I started and where my car is today. I wanted to share with the v8 section some old pics n vids from last year. The pics n vids are basically 1 week after I got my car running! Just a reminder never give up on your project and all the hard work will pay off. When I was down on my car, I would watch vids of everyone else's cars and vids I have of my friends Z cars (1 tuff z & cygnusx1). Maybe the car didn't come with the dash or he had a crack free 240 dash. You can make the 240 dashes work in the 260/280's. Either way, the int looks like sh*t but it makes 300hp!!! lol I should email him and ask what does the motor make hp wise stock...prob 250..hehe

240z dash and he tried to make the 260/280 control panel work. The top and bottom of it is too wide, so he just mounted the middle and used a 260/280 center console. Look at it closer, I think I can see where the console is wider than the bottom of the dash.

LMAO @ 300hp!! Some people can really BS sales, trust me I know! lol Def a 260z with a 240z dash swapped in.

$1800 as a steal and it needs work....don't think so. I had a 89 gts and saw very clean cars, fresh paint sell for $1500. Like Yasin said, the motors are strong as hell and great for a DD. What do you plan to offer for the car...and see if you can get pics for us. Clive

To clear up the record JHD is NOT a member of Triad Z club. When he spoke to me, he just threw their name out there. I am telling you guys this because I am only stating facts. Also, Dan is Dan Banks......Charlie is Charlie Oz from Zeddfindings....some of you may know who these people are. I have NO problems with them at all....just stating how far JHD went to make a point that these are his friends and what he was selling me was NOS stuff..... I would love for John to come online and explain his side. There are always two sides to a story. I already know his side: he feels what I paid was a fair price for it in the condition I got it in even if they were not as nice as he said they were. Therefor he says, he does not feel bad keeping my money. When you break it down, John, I paid for what you described to me not for what I got. To make this easy for some people to understand where the prob is...... If someone told you, I have this brand new Benz with 1,000 miles and I will sell it to you for $25,00......you will buy it because you are getting a deal! Upon picking up the car, you see it is used, 12,000 miles, few paint chips and a light broken...you would be very upset.....even if the car is worth the selling price in the condition you got it in....it is not what was told to you what you would be getting.... Being misleading to make a sale and then when you get caught....tell someone to be happy with what they got and what you got was good enough..... Not good. And to the guys in the NC Z club's please do not take this as me throwing a shot at you guys as a group. I just mentioned where he told me he is from and clubs who know him best. I am sure John most times is a very nice guy, this is the reason why I trusted his word and even said to him...you must be having a bad day....hope he proves me right. Clive
