    Late 80's

Me sitting on my uncle's 510 wagon when I was around 4 or 5 years old. Bronx, NYC
  2. I did it, bought a 69 510 wagon....thanks Cruez!! lol, we are gonna have to talk soon. Clive
  3. 240ztt, trust me if I knew they were gonna be that much in Japan I would have bought them when it was offered to me for less than the buy it now price. The next set that comes up we gotta jump on them. I think this will work out with Terry but we all have to be open to each other. I would not want to be fighting with someone here on HBZ over the same part. I mean it possible for to want them same item and everyone agree on the highest price they are willing to pay. EXAMPLE is tail lights, I don't wanna be sending Terry a million pm's and 4 other guys doing the same trying to convice him he should sell it to them. There shouldn't be any hard feelings. If anyone has some input on what I am trying to say, please feel free. I am just writing as I am thinking. lol Clive
  4. Correct me if I am wrong, I saw cars driving in the other direction in all the vids.
  5. Last one: Watch the other vids from the poster
  6. Understand this is like late night street racing.
  7. A good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmIFKhLRmxI&NR=1 Crazy tho!
  8. Terry, that would be great! I have seen somethings I would like and has been trying to figure out how to get them. Some of the parts have crazier prices then here in the US. Fairlady tail lights....$1250 U.S.!! LOL
  9. You are first in line when the weather breaks! I am off to go look at a 69 510 wagon Hope you get what you want for the Z. Clive
  10. You have to look high and low, find part cars that always seem to come with, " O, I had these parts I bought for this car"....knowing part numbers always help too! =)
  11. BleachZee I get where you are coming from. If you, as in anyone wants something you have to be willilng to pay for it. Like you said, it all depends on the market of who is buying the car that dictates the price. To the untrained eyes, this Fairlady looks like a great project car and only needs quaters. I would pay $2000 going into it knowing the car is rough and needs MAJOR work. In that statement said, I am agreeing that the car is worth more than a LHD s30. I take back my earlier statement. I guess I was trying to say, just because it is a Fairlady that doesn't stop it from being inspected and judge for the same rust issues. Just from the pics....anyone of use with Z knowledge can tell this car needs: Quaters rocker panels rails tail light panel Battery tray fender and door reworked We all know if there is that much rust in the pics, then there is rust we can't see and won't until the car is taken apart. So what am I trying to say? I guess I do not want newer guys or gals to Z's to think every Fairlady is worth $1000's of dollars. Some guys here, including myself are able to pay a little more than what a car is really worth because we either have the money to jump into the project, have parts we know we can use or have crazy skills so that the "project" becomes cheap and it is labor of love. This is words to the wise to the member who is looking to take out a loan to buy the car......trust me....and I know someone here will back me.....you are getting yourself into a MAJOR project and everyone will tell you...RUST IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART OF ANY BUILD. I think this is a good thread with lots of points of view and glad everyone has kept their cool =)
  12. How long is the vid? If it is shorter than 10 mins and on your pc as a file. Post it on youtube and link it to the thread.
  13. Thats what I am saying, a few hundreds dollar more. TonyD, since you are a owner of several rhd's....would you say this one in question is worth $3000-$3700? Like you said, you bought some fairladies in condition you would never buy a US s30 in the same condition. Don't get me wrong they are more rare and worth more but $2000 more than a s30 in the same condition. If it had uncracked dash...I would pay $4000 for the car! lol TonyD...uncracked dash? lol, thats gonna be one of my great finds. Clive
  14. Hope this helps. I should of explained better. It basically measures paint thickness. Here is a look at what may look like and its useage. http://www.defelsko.com/applications/dft-app/automotive-paint-meter.htm
  15. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Just because you were gladly able and wanting to pay $!000 for it, does not mean it was worth that. Rust is rust and Fairladys are not worth more dollars wise than a 240, 260 or 280. Bling facter can't be added into real worth. Honestly the Fairlady in question, if it was a 73 240Z....it would be worth $1000 as a driver. Is it now worth $3000 because it is a Fairlady? NO. $2000 will be pushing limits of the value of the car because of how "rare" it is. This kind of talk of misleading people to make them think they have something woth $3000 -$4000 is why we have crazy Ebay prices. Then we as a group most times, question why are parts hitting these crazy prices. In some strange way, Ebay and the general misconception of certain Z's.....is the Barrett Jackson auctions for our Z's. People hear and see things and now the rusty Z pile they have is worth $$$$$. And to be clear, I myself is trying to purchase this car for a fair price, so please do not take my write ups as trying to stop anyone from buying the car or getting it cheaper. I am just trying to educate myself and others. Clive
  16. Numerical value, that tells you if there is any bondo or glass under the paint. Very good way to find out if you are buying a rusted bucket that was just glassed or bondo then hit with a decent paint job. PAINT HIDES EVERYTHING. Clive
  17. Yes there is...and with that said....I am going to look at a 69 Wagon this weekend that is in a barn 2 hours away from me. I will take pics and post this weekend. This wagon is looking great....keep it up. Clive
