Here is the Z I have been working on for the past 2 years Working on meaning: trying to get this guy to sell it to me. It has been sitting for almost 20 years! Only 2 years outside. I believe he is going to let it go to me next month or so....I will def keep everyone updated. 75 Fairlady Z- Plans for this when I get it is: L28et, big brakes, zg's and a bunch more ideas in my head. Hope this will be a nice Bday present to myself! lol Dave you are right, the wagon needs more pics. I have it "stored" now in garage owned by a older woman who does not want a bunch of traffic in her yard. Perfect place for the 510 since I have no plans on starting it this summer. This wagon will remain stock or atleast a 2000 motor. Nice DD if need be. The 510 coupe will be the hot rod dime. Plan on posting about yours? Clive

I was able to pick it up last weekend and now it is sitting indoors. 4 hour trip back and forth which went with no problems. I love the color! Yes it is going back in that color. Next is a 2 door dime....lol I will start to collect parts for this car and gather more info on the dimes. They are all new to me but I love learniing about the cars we drive. Clive

Exactly! When the one series was introduced over a year ago, there was talk about at sub 30k sports car and the TT model coming in a little of 32k. Now a fully loaded TT is 41k and some change. I rather get a used M3, brand new G37 S, Evo X...list goes on.

Well yesterday I was able to see the new 1 series and the new M3 in person at the local dealership and not a fan of the one series at all. I guess the price is a real turn off to me. The thing is tiny! 40k starting isn't worth it to me at all. I would rather get the 335i like mentioned about for around the same cost. I do like the "idea" of what the 1 series was suppose to be. As for the M3, it looks much better in person and sounds great! The one I saw was red with black int. The guy who was buying it had the biggest grin on his face. I also saw the Evo X yesterday......I think I really like it. Looks 100% better than the concept photos. All I have to say is....nice sport cars are on the rise $$$ wise....everything is starting at 40K. Clive

Thanks BJ, I have them still boxed in the boxes he sent them to me in. I will take pics for everyone. I have him 2 weeks to think about it and do the right thing. Now he has left me no choice to put his name on blast on the internet. JHD, I no longer respect you as a person and you have made a huge deal out of a lie you got caught in. This is a small Z world and I am sure one day we will be at the same show, I will have some words for you.

I am going to contact the local police and DA in my case. I gave him enough time to do the right thing. Too many people know this guy for no action. I still know all the Z guys I have ever dealt with have been great people...including NC guys!

The really sad part of it is, he used the VP of the NC Z club as a source of the "NOS" parts in my story. No one has contacted me yet.....Joel I know how you feel brother. Clive

Ok more info from the old emails as I put this thing together. I tried emailing the Prez of the Z club there: http://www.emeraldcityzclub.com/ Look at who is the VP -----> Roger Williams, Vice-President & Historian Now look at who JHD was talking about in his email who he bought the "NOS" hubcaps from and then sold them to me: From: Date: Mon, Mar 3, 2008 at 9:52 PM To: clive.bogle@gmail.com Clive, I noticed the grease and wondered myself what that meant. I also noticed the paint was spotty but did not realize that it was just two. Let me call Roger Williams (the guy I bought them from in 1999). Roger's father was a mechanic at the Datsun dealership in Greenville and then Roger started working in the parts department in 1985 (of course it was Nissan by then). Roger has always been crazy about 240Zs and has had quite a number of them. Roger was never interested in the stock classic look of the 240Z (ie the hubcaps) so I would be surprised if he put them on one of his cars to try them out. But it is possible. What I am wondering is if the paint came off, rather spotty, at the same time that the surface rust developed (did you notice the surface rust on the back of the hubcaps?). I didn't see any sign of dirt, etc. that you would expect of the hubcaps that had been on a car or any sign that they had been cleaned in an effort to cover up the fact that they had been used. Regarding the grease I wondered if that was to help them go on the car more easily. I have never known hubcaps to come with grease but it makes sense that they would come with grease to go on the wheel with more ease. Roger is a member of our Z club. He should be able to tell me more of the history of the hubcaps and whether he had put them on a Z to see what they looked like, etc. I bet anything that he didn't. He is so meticulous about all things Z and takes such excellent care of them. The dealership changed hands many times and I think when that happened he was able to acquire Z parts as I also bought two early 280ZX wheels for myself. I doubt I will ever use them. You can see where he tells on himself by saying he saw all the flaws in the parts before he sent them. I love the G-meter hanging from the rear view mirror! In a few weeks we can shoot more vids of our cars. Lead car and chase car vids would be great.... Now I have to look for a new HD cam, unless I can figure out a way to stop mine from shutting off due to the vibrations. I can record 30mins of HD right to a mini DVD.
