  1. I am seeing 2000 - 2001 cars with with rusty brake lines and rust in quater panels at my dads shop. The salt is harsh on the cars...imagine when you guys out in Ca drive on a dusty road...you pass by and kick up all that dirty/sand....us during the winter...we are kicking up clouds of salt! lol Old cars don't last here if they see winters..... =(
  2. I will watch it also.... just to be clear to anyone reading, I was not taking a shot at Pop N Wood at all. I already know someone willing to pay $200 for the airbox alone
  3. Thanks for the post...lots of things there I forgot off the top of my head.
  4. Rear hatch glass with no defrost lines Hood prob can be saved (69 hoods are different from 70 and laters 240's) Handle throttle and hardware if it is still there Dash can be repaired (69 dashes are rare) Heater Control Panel(69 hcp are grey and not black like the 70 and on 240's) Seatbelts (69 production date) Rear int panel( if not broke, unique to the early z's) Early SU carbs Early series 1 clamps in the engine bay 69 production rims and spare Valve cover Steering wheel (chek ebay...they are going for nuts prices now) Early choke knob style (different from 70's 240's) And a bunch of stuff I can't think of right now....trust me it is worth more than we would think....we build Hybridz...not OEM's....lol
  5. Lots of money to be had in that parts car. I know this is HBZ but I have been slowly learning about the "OEM" side to your Z's. The '69 240's are very different from most of our cars. The hood, fender, rear hatch glass, heater control panel, su carbs, hood adj bumps.....all different. A true purist can spot these 69 cars from a mile away, simple stuff that most of us will miss. I am 100% sure anyone buying that car already has a 69 and needs that "I can't find it" part off the car or it is someone thinking "man, I can restore that car and get big money" that will have a hell of a time tracking down parts and will let the car sit and rot or it will be for sale down the road. Clive
  6. Waiting on an email for a phone number. You know that car is rough judging from the pictures and locations. Just a bunch of hard to find parts and maybe someone with skills would be able to save it.
  7. If you want it let me know. Figure we can work the price down =) I have enough Z's around...lol
  8. Need pics of the rust areas.......paint hides everything. Also when you go to look at the car, bring a magnet with you. Cover it with paper towel and run it across the paint to check for bondo. Be sure to check the floors, spare tire, battery area, frame rails, firewall, brake lines. The car looks good in the pics but make sure you are buying a true resto car...not a paint job.
  9. That is the Z from BK, NYC. I just got called back for that car today because no one has picked it up yet. I was thinking l28et swap DD until I want to get rid of it. I was thinking no more than 300- 400 bucks.
  10. I have a 240 with a LS1! lol You can ditch the 170hp motor and get a Ford v8 in there. Since you had a Z before, you know where to look for rust....look hard and long for that kind of cash you will spend. Hope to invite you to the next tri state get together in your new 280z.
  11. Good to know....here in NY you can just take the course yourself and save 10% on the insurance....or use it to have 3 points "removed" from your driving record. This can be done once every 18 months. Clive
  12. Wow nothing for the alarm, tint, and etched glass.....thought you would have gotten something. Defensive driving is always good for 10%.
  13. God that thing is ugly, but love the work he did. Reminds me of Fluids classes I took in school. Nice work for backyard engineering. I believe one day tru eco-cars will have wild shapes and just be standard for the public. With the rate gas prices are going, plenty of people will pefer cost/function over beauty.
  14. Gotta talk to the admins about that one......
  15. Can your picture get any bigger?! lol Carfan, after a few weeks....you will get a hand on both tracks. Mid Ohio, time to aim for is 1:28 and The Glen 1:48.
  16. 3K a yr isn't that bad compared to us in the north. A few "tricks" to get insurance down is: 1. Tint - aint theft 2. Vin etched in the glass- anto theft 3. Alarm- aint theft 4. School grades- Usually every insurance has a discount for students doing well in school. 5. School address- only works if where you go to school is not in a city area. I used my school address for the insurance back when I had my BMW. 97 528i with 80k was going to cost me 2800 a yr in the city and cost me 1500 a yr because my school was 5 hours away in the middle of no where. Mind you I was 20 at the time and had 2 speeding tickects and 1 unsafe start ticket...all resulting in points on my driving record. All three tickets from the same cop within 2-3 months....thats another story. 6. Defensive Driving- good for 10% off quote Those are some of the things I can think of off the top of my head. I wanted to get a STI but being only 23 with a clean record now besides a cell phone ticket...insurance would be nuts!!
  17. We have 7 guys in right now!
  18. 9pm tonight...I will be in the room by 8:15 for practice.
  19. We are in the server now

  21. 9pm good tonight for some of you guys?
