  1. I love Vancouver. You will probably not want to move away once you move there! It is clean, friendly, and is home to Ross Corrigan and a lot of other HybridZ guys. Look up pictures on the web and you may want to think about it. It would take me all of 10 seconds to make my mind up to move there. Davy
  2. My neighbor just succumbed to the government's buy-back program and had his perfectly good '78 Datsun pickup crushed for $500. I could have spit. THAT would have made a great beater/parts hauler. Davy
  3. 250 hp to 275 hp --and that is a very educated guess, compadre. If you ever have that thing dyno'd, let us know what they say, but that should be about about right for a relatively 'stock' motor. It'll make your Z car scream too. Torque, baby, torque. Davy
  4. Bring that bad boy around to the office the week after next; I want to see you lay 20 feet-o-rubber in front of the bank...again. Davy
  5. Very funny indeed. This is a French film??? I give it: Davy

    New here!

Picking up JTR's books can really help with the swap. BTW, their TPI/TBI book is pretty good reading too. Good luck with the swap! Davy
  7. Just stick with it for a weekend or so and paint that anti-rust stuff everywhere in there, then voila, have the winshield installed. Sounds easy, ha!... Stick with it. Davy
  8. He's not the one selling them, and the sale is currently 'pending' on the two that are available. We'll have to wait and see if the deal falls through or not... Davy
  9. Thanks for posting your link, sss I think you have a very trick setup that works well in a 510. I can't imagine the feel in a car like that, having owned an underpowered one in comparison. Ah well, I'll stick to V8 240Z cars for now Thanks again! Davy
  10. SSS510 did the impossible and runs an L28T in his 510 with the T56; it is a VERY fast 510. He occassionally posts. I would do a search in numerous forums here and you may find his information. Very trick IMO. Davy
  11. Well, the issue is that it is on the ZX. Try emailing Dave Greimann or Ross Corrigan and find out what they think since they own Zx's. My $0.02 Davy
  12. The whole setup is looking really nice I like the color of the engine bay and especially the color of the motor! It nearly looks powdercoated. Davy
  13. http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/ This is from the archives. Always use the search function Good luck to your friend! Davy
  14. Brett, the Summit headers are now actually brand name headers (Flowtech?) unlike the way they used to be. I bought some about 7 years ago and then had them powdercoated. I think they will last and they look great. I also have 'Stage 8' brand lacking nuts to hold them down and they ALL fit fine on there. If you really want to spend some big dollars, you can't go wrong with Sandersons. Always make sure you buy powdercoated headers (or have them done) to keep that investment alive & looking good for years. Rusty headers are a thing of the past. Davy
  15. We all do, Frank, we all do. Davy lol
  16. Hey, at least the guy can 'glass a car pretty good. He just needs some friends with taste that can steer him in the right direction. Welcome to HybridZ, sir. Davy
  17. I suggest using a 'self-etching' primer over the base metal, then paint to your heart's content. Davy
  18. FYI, Dan Juday had a good photo of this being done to his car for the VR Engineering body kit. It's someplace in a old thread. Davy
  19. Scottie, RXO510 (James) and I talked about this on a thread way back. He even sent me some rear quarters from a 280Z 2+2 to see if I could assess the feasibility of converting the 240Z fixed quarters to flip out using some parts of the 280Z 2+2 glass. The windows were lost in the mail thanks to USPS and the idea didn't go anywhere. I would love to use as many Nissan parts as possible to keep that "factory" look. Glad you brought up this idea again since it has merit! Hopefully some of the other guys will weigh in with ideas & opinions. Davy
  20. Aside from the pain of shelling out the big bucks for them to recover your dash, the job they do is supposed to be good and the vinyl is thicker, thus giving you a dash that should never crack. A new Nissan dash is cheaper, no? Davy
  21. I would be VERY surprised to find a 50 lb difference between the two, because in just picking up the doors you can notice a BIG difference in weight. That coupled with the chassis differences would equal more I would think Davy
  22. Ummm, about $3000+ and counting (not finished yet)... Davy
  23. Ah, I finally have a working sound card on my computer thanks to Auxilary. Man, the car sounds Suweeeet! Davy
  24. Greimann is correct. However, if you get a good book on fuel injection, you can actually make an EFI system yourself. The total cost will be similar to the Holley, but the system will be unique. The biggest cost of the whole shebang is the SOFTWARE or ENGINE MANAGEMENT system you will run. Just FYI. Davy
