  1. Hmmm, methinks yon 240Z be quick beyond your expectations. Is how you spend your Thanksgiving?!? Pretty cool, Kyle. I like what I see so far. Davy
  2. Kyle, the purple car is getting boost, eh? Looks very purdy indeed. Davy
  3. Wow, if these are new, then they are the cheapest thing going I have seen so far. Thanks for posting. Davy
  4. Possibly Mr T's voice commanding you "Put on your seatbelt, FOOL!" might make one take notice a bit more... ...or how about the drone of Martha Stewart's voice telling you not to fall asleep on long trips? You'd crash for sure. On second thought, Nicole's voice might be nice Any EE guys want to take stab at actually answering the question? Davy
  5. It's all good; no worries. I liked the TR7 because it was unlike the Japanese and German cars in the "feel" and look of the car. They are more unique and seemed to be pretty solidly built (relatively speaking). I didn't want to deal with Lucas (Prince of Darkness) electrics, so I decided more could be done to the Z. Davy
  6. Jason, I still think the Apex will be somewhat loud. Have you given any thought to maybe a Dynomax SuperTurbo muffler? They flow very well and are reasonably quiet. Just a thought. Davy
  7. I owned a TR7 that I was going to do a V6 conversion (a la John's Cars) to, but I decided that a Z would be cheaper and faster in the end (why not go with a V8 in a Z?). So, here is my take on the V8 in the TR7: the V6 is better because of where the weight of the motor is in relation to the front crossmember. The V8 sits waaaaaaay too far forward in this application IMO. I have driven a friend's TR8, but that has a tiny, all aluminum V8 that is 'made' for the car. The Chevy would make a good strip car out of the TR7, but I would pass on this setup if I was planning on doing any kind of road racing with it. Again, this is my opinion having owned one. However, from a swap point of view, it is still pretty neat Davy
  8. 'Twas a joke, son. Ah, my failing attempts at humor....perhaps a smiley would have helped. Davy
  9. Find a rep for Safeco or State Farm, and you should be good to go. Safeco should be cheaper, but I guess that depends on a LOT of things. Davy
  10. Man, the economy is affecting everyone... Davy
  11. Email Ross Corrigan here and he can provide you with exactly what you need: Modern Motorsports Hope that helps. Davy
  12. ZEDSKID is out of Australia or New Zealand, and he did sell his car I believe. Not sure if he still maintains the website Davy
  13. That is Mark Icard's car--he posts here on a semi-regular basis. The pics don't do his car justice! Davy
  14. Thanks for bringing that info up, Paul. Brainstorming is great with a group like this Love your Z BTW. Davy
  15. Mat--the color on the suspension looks great--very trick!!! Davy
  16. You need to purchase the JTR manual and then go from there after you read it over a dozen times. It is the best education you can get besides this forum of course Jags That Run Davy
  17. Welcome to HybridZ!! The best you can do is to do a search on each one individually...sorry, I don't know of a post that deals with a comparo Hope you find what you are looking for. BTW, thanks for posting this in the correct forum!!! Davy
  18. The T5 did not come behind the 350, but don't let that stop you. Provided that you are using the V8 GM T5 (not the V6 T5), the input shaft will work fine through a 153 tooth flywheel that is meant for a 305. Yes, 350's are internally balanced so they do not need a 'special' flywheel or 'special' dampner (this excludes 383 stroker motors). BTW, this is exactly what I am using. Davy
  19. I think you are doing the right thing in seeking help. Also working out or excersizing is a fantastic way to get your body responding in a very positive way with your brain, and vice versa. I second everyone's opinion on this. About 4 years ago I was in extreme financial hardship, and I was working very long hours in the car business trying to support my very young family. I began to notice a change in myself that I would have increadible mood swings in very brief periods throughout the day. Having worked in a mental hospital years ago, I started to become concerned that I was heading for an emotional breakdown or I was becoming manic depressive to some extent. A lot of what I was feeling was due to exhaustion. Well, a lot of prayer later, improvements in the job, and some exersize, I was feeling much better about everything. This year, I entered a new job and am progressing steadily (upward, heh) in, I'm working out using the Body For Life methods Bill Philips talks about in his book. My wife bought me the book about four months ago and I have to say it completely changed my perspective on working out, eating, and exercize. I highly recommend it. Just a bit of advice: Don't ever be intimidated by the 'big' guns around the gym! Who the heck cares about how much you can lift, when every person must start at ground zero anyway? Just remember that. What do most of those guys know about engineering? Nothing! You are a 'big gun' to them in your own world, so don't ever sweat someone else's abilities over your own. Besides, physical ability, like strength, can be obtained through working out with weights, etc. I started lifting again this past February after being off weights since the end of the 1980's when I used to lift in college. I began using the Body For Life method and have made increadible gains in both size and strength. My bench press went from a straining 135 lb max to 255 lb max(?) strong & controlled in only 8 months. I look and FEEL much better then I ever did. Read Bill Philip's book and you'll be amazed at his insight. I wish you the very very best in overcoming your struggles in life. Hang in there! Davy
  20. Yep, that's why I can't ride one! I know I would probably wrap it... Davy
  21. I actually like the look of rams-horn manifolds (someone slap me) and I even saw a pair of polished ones on a street rod. They looked cool! These guys have been having some success with their products, and the 2 into 1 collector (Y-pipe) looks pretty good. I wonder how it stacks up against the Flowmaster Y-pipe in terms of cost vs flow?? Davy
  22. A GM T5? About 75 lbs. Davy
