I got my car up and running! Bad part is I still think its slowly overheating... I think I need a new rad... Does anyone want to try to grab lunch tomorrow? If I keep it local I can still drive the Z for a bit.

I'm about to buy a set myself but I'm weary as I'm not purchasing a plug and play kit (just a generic HID kit DDM's to be exact) Did you have to splice alot of wiring to get everything to work? Or was it not that bad?

Wow that sucks but I'm glad to hear that you and the gf are ok though. I know it doesn't help with the loss of your Z that much but as long as you're ok you can build another Z. I don't know all that much in terms of insurance but I would suggest at least getting a classic car appraiser or someone who knows what a Z car is. In my experiences with Z cars they're often undervalued.

I tried to replace my thermostat, the thermostat housing bolts came out along with a surprise, the housing threads. Car is dead in the water (lol) until I get a replacement. I think John from baddog parts may have one and hes local! I'm crossing my fingers.

I was thinking of going the helicoil route but I'm not sure if there would be enough room to drill/tap. I'm also weary of the housing itself as upon closer inspection it seems to have had better days. I'd rather try to get a replacement first before I try repairing it. I've been trying to source another one and I think I may have found one so if I can pick it up hopefully my car will be running soon.

Hey all So I was replacing my thermostat today and when I was tightening the bolts the housing stripped and the bolts now just turn and don't screw in... Does anyone have a l28 or l28et thermostat housing with bolts? Its a 2 bolt one so I'm thinking it may be a 1970's l28 thermostat housing? My cover is a 3 bolt (which is right for the l28et) but the lower housing is only 2 bolts... So thats why I'm thinking I may just have a 1970s l28et lower thermostat housing? Here are pictures for reference if anyone could clarify which one I actually need and if anyone has it that would be greatly appreciated!

Alot of people I know who have sr20 motors use the Cometic brand. Generally they are pretty happy with them. I would definitely be interested if they do make a headgasket that fits the l28ets.

I was considering just getting tires and buying the wheels elsewhere, but the 16x7 konig rewinds for $400 shipped flat was too good to pass up. Changed my sparkplugs yesterday, went from NGK R's to NGK iridiums. Car is much smoother on idle/accel/decel but doesn't seem to have as much punch? I don't know if that makes any sense... Going to hit the 1/4 track today hopefully I'll have some vids to share afterwards.

I had the pleasure of working all weekend... and still am at work now... I work for a large CDN we're 24/7/365 but at least I'm getting some nice OT out of it. I did drive to work yesterday in the Z, fuel injector O rings went again (My fault since I pulled the fuel rail to put in the oem Nissan intake manifold o rings) Long story short got it towed home, made it to advance auto parts for replacement O rings for the fuel injectors got them in and car is running normally again. About to leave work with it and hopefully have a nice drive home from work.

I was able to nab a set off ebay. All set... for now... Thanks!
