ZT-R
Anyone know of any shops that would wrap the oem trim in carbon fiber or kevlar?
Pac_Man
If you're just looking for the look of CF, there are carbon fiber styled vinyl wraps that are pretty popular and any local shop that does tint and wraps should have. If you mean getting a layer of carbon fiber over the existing interior, that would be more involved and probably require the interior to be removed and covered separately. LanceVance
I know of two; haven't used either, I've only made some inquiries with them (thinking of getting my rear view mirror wrapped). Carbon Fiber Elements Custom_cf@yahoo.com - Tony Carbon Effects wrapping@rogers.com - Bill Do some Google searches, and you should find some examples of their work fairly easily. ZT-R
No I mean real stuff, using the trim as a mold or just wrapping that in actual fiber.
zero
You know, this is a reasonably easy thing to try yourself. I recently did something similar with my rashed and cracked SV650 plastics. It turned out pretty nice when all was said and done. The vinyl's look decent and will certainly be more flexible for installation, but CF isn't that hard to work with and ultimately looks better. Alternatively, I could give it a shot on some spare plastics I have lying around and if you like the results I could do a set for you. calpoly-z
I think that Carbon Fiber Elements does a lot of CF wrapping of stock plastic pieces for the 370Z crowd and most people on those forums seem to be pretty pleased with his work. Check out the370z.com for some examples of his work.
LanceVance
No I mean real stuff, using the trim as a mold or just wrapping that in actual fiber. Both use real CF; they wrap and vacuum bag the original part, infuse with resin and then clear coat. No fake vinyl 'CF look' stuff here... ...No weight savings either however: Creating molds and making true CF replacements is an awfully expensive proposal...
