fusion
Does anyone know if the factory drivetrain on an S30 is offset slightly to the passenger side? I am installing a new engine/trans and I was trying to measure the centerline of the rear diff with respect to the frame rails and it appeared to be approximately 1/2" offset to the passenger side. Is that right? It's hard to get a good measurement. Thanks
74_5.0L_Z
It is offset toward the passenger side (I think the offset is about 3/4"). Duplicate that as much as possible to minimize driveshaft angle as seen from above.
NewZed
Just make sure the centerlines of each are parallel. That's the key. Jmortensen has written up a description of how to do it, using a laser and some gadgetry.
jhm
And there's a nifty driveline angle finder in the Tremec Toolbox app for your smartphone.
