Lockjaw
After 10 months, the ZXT is finally running. I had some initial problems with the intercooler lines not wanting to stay connected at 7 psi, but I think I have a handle on that now. Also have 2.5 in lines, and spearco 221 intercooler, and had JWT upgrade the ECU to a 4 bar fuel map and a half volt step. Got the boost up to about 13 psi, and it feels pretty good so far, but I want to hook up the exhaust so I can hear the motor better, so I am leaving it alone for now. Initial compariosn to my TO4b/T3 (H trim compressor and stage 3 turbine) are that spool-up takes a little longer, perhaps 300 rpms, and I don't get as violent a hit like I did with the Stage 3. I haven't really played with it enough yet to know for certain, but I think I can get that worked out to be a little more responsive. I have a turbo XS boost controller that I am going to run to the top port on the WG, and will use my adjustable controller on the bottom port to try and manipulate it to spool faster. It feels pretty good at 13 to 14 psi, would really like to see it with 6 or so more psi and see what it does. The ECU upgrades really make a difference on cold start, I guess the boys at JWT have made some progress in that regard. Very smooth. When I get to the track I will let you know how it does. Hoping for low 12's this time at about 120mph. I guess we will see.

Lockjaw
89 300ZX NA ecu set-up to run the 420CC injector, and the Cobra MAF. It should have the same ignition map as I had prior to having the fuel map raised from 2.5 bar to 4 bar. Clark also added a half volt step in it since the turbo is likely capable of flowing more air that the ECU can send voltage to the flow meter. You mainly have to change the way the fuel pump relay grounds, add dropping resisters to the injectors, and wire up the maf, other then that it is plug and play, and it runs pretty good. Plus it never breaks, you don't have to retune it for every little change, and it makes good power, IMO. I don't have a race gas program though. jeffp
Craig, you should be able to run 20psi in the car. The turbo should be into full boost at 3K so if it is not take a look at how you set it up, and all that jazz. The difference between 14psi and 20psi is night and day, all I gor to say is get some brakes for the car now, and if you havent 't improved the suspension, I would highly suggest it. Also, if you are going to run the high boost, I would suggest poly/solid mounts on the engine and save your tranny. There will be to much flex in the rubber parts to keep the driveline strait under high boost, and you will run a very good chance of destroying your tranny in the process. Let me know hat you are doing and I will tell you what I did with my car, this is one place that I know all about, and if you want, I can tell you exactly how to configure the car to run the high boost numbers and save some time, trouble, MONEY in the long run and your parts. well anyway, you know all about my car for the most part. But there are things I have done that I have not mentioned to anyone and they also have improved the race/drive ability charactoristics of the car that enable me to dovetail the two venues together with excellent results. I will be out of the area until Thursday, so if you mail me and dont get a response that is why. Jeff
fl327
hey where do you get poly/solid mounts on the L series? never heard of them, but then again havent looked either. 20psi has to be ridiculous, if its like 8-12psi jump, and it has to be crazier, that things gonna RUN.... Lockjaw
I ran 22 psi on my last turbo, and the hit when the boost came on was insane. It would break drag ta's loose in first and second if they weren't warmed up, and I was banging the mess out of my 7k rev limiter in the first 3 gears. To bad the turbo was going south, or it would have really been fun. If you want a hard hit, get the stage III and a big compressor wheel, I was full boost by 2800rpms. This turbo is not quite as violent, but in fairness, I don't have the boost up there yet. I am looking forward to it though, I bet that is the sweet spot. Man big boost is fun. Lockjaw
The one on ebay? Good for you. I got some extra 3 inch pipe, plus some Nitrile 3 inch hose, so don't go buy anything until you check out what I have. Lets go put some Z car smackdown on a certain S2K.
