DavyZ
What do you want in a garage? How about this for starters? My 2 car garage seems bearly enough for junk let alone nice stuff like this. I could definitely go for a three or four car garage; at least the wife could park in there--I think the lack of garage parking is a bit of a sore spot around here Anybody else have some pics or ideas they want in a dream garage? rags
Have you seen http://www.ultimategarage.com ? This guy lives about a half mile from me. You would never know what lurks behind the house!!
Mikelly
See my photo album for my dream garage... Some members have seen it in person! A 24X32 garage WITH two 3 foot deep benches and two 2 foot deep benches (All are four feet long), shelving lining most of the walls, a lift and plenty of lighting and power outlets... Oh yea, you REALLY want to be able to run the lift, welder, chop saw, grinder, drill press and sawzall at the same time! When I build my next garage, I'll probably keep a similar footprint unless my two Z stable grows... I LOVE MY GARAGE! Best money I could spend ON THE Z was building the garage! rags
They fill up fast Mike. I built my garage in 2001 using the same footprint as you but my upstairs isn't as big (damn town ). Now I have 3 Z's, a Grand National and my motorcycle in there! To my wife's displeasure, the new cars stay outside. But hey, those two get replaced every three or four years anyway I think if I had made it bigger than the house I'd still run out of room. Mikelly
Well for me, for now anyway, My shop is the exact perfect size. Once the upstairs is done, Then it will be even more close to perfection, since I'll have MORE storage space! Mike
Mike C
While not quite as neat and orderly as some of those, this one's the ultimate because its mine! 34x40 with 3 doors on the front, a single door on the rear aligned with the lift for ventilation. 2/3 of the ceiling is constructed with scissor trusses for a vaulted ceiling while the other 1/3 is attic storage. It has 9 foot walls with 7' high 9' wide doors. The right hand side is 34 feet of 24" deep cabinets closed with bifold doors so they can be opened with cars parked inside. What you can't see is the 34' long 16' wide lean-to on the right side for storage as well as my ski boat. Just to the left in this photo is a 10' x 16' "clean room" with my machine tools. Guest bang847
Stop it...Stop it!! You guys are killing me. my 2 car garage is not even close to big enough!! These garages are what dreams are made of.. Davy' date=' take this :malebitchslap: for turning me green Tim[/quote'] Man at least you have a garage. I lost mine when my a$$#ole roomate gave me 20 days notice that he was moving out and leaving me out to dry. Now all the Z project cars cannot be worked on and i push them weekly to avoid street sweeping tickets. Count your blessing and be glad. It sure is nice to dream though.. Id opt for size rather than a neat and clean place. but it would be hecka coo if i had a japanese parking structure. ya know those places where you have a shelf for cars and a forklift to place them there? Has anyone ever seen these? Owen?? Hiro??
