BRAD D
They bolt up to the stock rubber mounts and I sell them for 100$
Schlasken
very nice! these are the ones who put the engine far back and low in the enginecompartment right? do you make trannymounts aswell?
BRAD D
Yes they put the motor as low and far back as you can go. I dont sell trans mounts, I just made new "ears" in the tunnel and used the stock trans mount. The ears are bolted with 4 bolts each through the tunnen then backed with a 1/8" plate inside the car under the carpet.
j260z
they look great! do you get the plates laser cut and then weld on the square stock?
Guest mbentsen
They do look great, if I hadn't already made the brackets myself, which by the way looks just like yours, I would have jumped and sent you some money. Hopefully these brackets will attract more z owners to do the RB transplant. For you guys thinking, "I can knock these up in no time" (I did), it is quite fiddly, getting the optimal engine position, with the rubber mount compressing etc. I like you neat looking gearbox mount. Did you weld the support plate on in the cabin, or just bolt it on? Are you happy with the strengt of the gearbox mount, or would you weld it on if you were to do it again? I will have to do something with the gearbox mount in the coming weeks. Thanks mate, Michael
Clifton
That would save alot of time on the swap. Positioning the motor and making mounts for mine took some time. I would of paid $100 to speed things up.
BRAD D
j260z, Yes that is what I do, I have a jig to hold the laser cut plates is the right position when I weld them. mbentsen, The thans mount is all just bolted in and so far so good. No problems yet and I give the the RB a run for its money
RB26DETT
HI Brad D and all, Brad, the engine mounts looks very nice and the welds are top notch too. Just have a question, what kind of steel are you using to join the 2 laser cut plates? Looks like RHS to me? Take care, Cuong Nguyen
pparaska
Brad, Those look great! Nice workmanship. Just wondering what the weight of each is.
BRAD D
RB26DETT, the plates are 1/4" laser cut mild steel. pparaska, I would say they are 3-5lbs? Need to find a small scale...
Guest Drb26Z
Hey Brad D, nice looking mounts how would they go with a RB20, would they put it in a similar position and would there be any clearance issues or such. Great work and i love the car, especially the MOTEGI's! Jonny Wilkinson
