BillZ260
john, I should have used the word STRONGER, rather than BETTER. The reason I am wanting to use my R180 is because I think it will do me just fine as a daily driver w/ moderate load. I figure w/ a LSD R180 unit I'll have all the stuff I want (traction), and none stuff I don't (weight, mods, different parts, binding, unknown). Jsquared
I forgot to mention... CA18-equipped JDM S13s came with 4.36:1 R180s, some with VLSD Too many parts at 3:25am for me to remember what my point was going to be...
260DET
Here is a K case R180, this particular one is a 3.9 ratio and came from a Skyline of some sort. Its four pinion center has been replaced with a ATB center, the stub axles are ex Datsun 720 4x4 used to suit the center and the modified 280ZX CV half shafts. Its all about to go into the part time racing S30
johnc
FYI... Here in the US pretty much all R180 cases made after 1975 have a big "K" on the top of the case. Non of those have the four pinion diffs.
