I doubt they would go through the trouble of re-creating the urethane bumpers in aluminum just to polish them when they could chrome the plastic (or whatever they do to put shiny stuff on plastic pieces) instead. dot Posted April 15, 2004 Share Posted April 15, 2004 That Jag is polished aluminium. I would imagine the bumpers are chrome plated plastic. I deliver sodium hydroxide to a place that plates the plastic parts for new trucks. You can now plate anything with the right combination of environmentally depleting chemicals and electricity. Jag polished an XKE years ago. Looked about the same. Personally, I like chrome, but in moderation. The early Z has just the correct amount for my tastes.
