v80z
In the past I have run the Diamond racing wheels 16 x 10 for $125.00 each. They are light for steel wheels and also can be ordered with custom offsets. Are there any other recommendations for affordable racing wheels. I have thought about going to a 15" rim to help with half shaft geometry. Any input is appreciated.
Guest 81na ZX
Have you had any problems with thoes Diamond wheels? I've heard of 2nd hand accounts of bad run out, etc... Some of these are limited on backspacing (i.e. only in 1,2,3,4,5,6" of backspace) or limited bolt patterns. http://www.aeroracewheel.com/ http://www.bartwheel.com/ http://www.bassettwheel.com/ http://www.bogartracingwheels.com/ http://www.duralitewheels.com/ http://www.circlekarting.com http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/ <- Not inexpensive! http://www.stocktonwheel.com/default.htm
Forrest
Yes, I was about to get some Diamond wheels...why are you looking elsewhere?
v80z
Not sure what bad run out is. When I started racing this is all I could find that was affordable and configurable. They work good. I was inquiring to see if anybody had any new ideas.
JMortensen
Runout is when the rim isn't straight. Basically a bent rim. I can say that my Paulsen steel wheels LOOK like they have a whole lot of runout, but they run true. The outer lip is not uniform, but the inner one where the tire sits in the rim is. Not sure if that is the cause of the rumors, but my steelies are fine.
Clifton
I run 15x10 Keizers. Really light, they're aluminum.
