Guest 260ondubs
I am an Australian Hybrid Z'er and in May I will be flying to the US to spend a month or so. I will have a lot of free time and I would like to use some to maybe meet some Hybrid Z people and their extensively modified Z's. That meaning that I don't really wanna see stock one's. Seen plenty of those here. My 'home base' whilst I am over there will be Atlanta, Georgia. But I will be making trips to New York, Las Vegas, probably LA and any other place that is worth the flight that I can fit in. Could I get any responses as to who lives in Georgia? And maybe anyone else in a good city/town that is worth visiting (if not just for the Zed car alone!! hehe) I've been told that I will have my own transportation (car/motorbike) while I am there in Atlanta and neighbouring states. I would really love to see a good response from this thread and make the time special and worthwhile. This opportunity doesn't come alone too often for me. The Zed's were designed with the American market in mind and I wanna be there in the land itself and see what they did with these cars in the flesh! P.S This has been typed in 'Australian' English. hehehe So all the little things like neighbo'U'ring and Zed is how we say it and how we spell it. nullbound
im just north of atlanta in alpharetta. i think the best bang for your buck would be to visit a ga z club meet. they meet the first tuesday of every month at hooter's on jimmy carter blvd. there is usually a pretty good selection of modifieds there. if you can't make that, i'm thinking we can schedule our own hybrid z meet for a saturday during your stay. mikekz, and other ga zedders, any thoughts? on that note, you're more than welcome to come see mine on a weekend. it's drivable, and i drive it often, but not near complete. i can even take you to visit a friend that has a 240 drag car. when are you coming? Guest 260ondubs
Yeah, i'm not too sure about the exact dates, but it will for about a month from very early May. So pretty much the whole month of May. Definitely would love to see how it's done over there with your MASSIVE aftermarket resources. Guest 260ondubs
Yeah I saw on the map that it doesn't look too far of a drive at all. Definitely sounds like a good idea. Anyone else seen this thread yet?
Guest 240zJake
Definitely would love to see how it's done over there with your MASSIVE aftermarket resources. Mike kZ
Like Nullbound said, let us know when you're in town and I can set up a HybridZ meet so you can see us all at once! Just email or PM me. Do you know where in Atlanta you are staying?
auxilary
don't forget that we drive on the right side of the road!
Guest 260ondubs
I don't know the exact address, but the people who I am staying with own and operate a place called "Mountain Power Sports". Specialising in motorcycles and 4-wheelers. I could get the address, but i'll be getting picked up at the airport so there isn't much need for me to know it. I've been to America before and driving on the other side of the road is not a problem. Even driving a manual on the other side of the car was easy the first time I did it. DaleMX
Looks like Ellijay. Thats north of Atlanta up in the mountians. Gods country. It's really beautiful up there. Ellijay is about an hour from where I live.
Guest 260ondubs
I asked and you are exactly right. It is Ellijay that we are staying at. So you must know Mountain Power Sports then.
DaleMX
Nope, never heard of them before. I just went to Google and did a search and they were the only ones in the Atlanta Georgia area. One of the girls that works for me knows that neck of the woods.
Guest 260ondubs
Okay I have all the dates now.... I will also PM some people as well. I will use this thread to try and get an Atlanta meet going. DaleMX, Mike KZ, Nullbound, Quicker240 and wigenout S30 have all repl;ied in the thread and are from the vicinity. I will be arriving in Atlanta on Thursday the 26th. And probably sometime soon after that I will most likely go up to Ellijay (north, I think). So the Saturday the 28th is looking REALLY GOOD for a meet. It is the only weekend that I can be free in that state. The next day Sunday we will probably be going 4 wheeling and trail bike riding. So i'm not sure who's in for a trip to Ellijay or if I can borrow a car to make it somewhere closer to you guys..... There is isn't too much time to organise this for me, so please, if you can make the effort, can you contact whoever you can with a Zcar and let's go for the 28th of May! qwik240z
If you make it to the Wasington, DC area, I would be happy to so you my my LS1 240Z project. I also have a V8 510. Maybe we could arrange a get together of the local Z car guys. Pete is close by with his nice V8 Z. Mike Kelly is about an hour from here too. Also, The east coast Datsun 510 Meet is at Summit Point Raceway the weekend of May 20th and we ussually see some nice Z cars and roadsters too. Not to mention some great vintage cars racing. Mike kZ
* Note * Well it looks like we are back at Hooters at 5929 Jimmy Carter blvd, Norcross, off of I-85 NE. I just found out that Stu is staying in Buckhead for the first part of his visit, but has no transportation. So I told him to take MARTA to Doraville, and I'd pick him up. Lets make it 1:00 pm so we can eat lunch too. ************************************************** ******** Hey Georgia Hybrid Zers , I sent out this email, but a bunch bounced back, so I will print it here also: Hey guys, It's been awhile since our last meeting, and was wondering if you guys are ready for another? Are any of you guys going to be around May 28th? I know it's Memorial Day weekend, but the reason I ask is a fellow Hybrider from down under ( Australia ) is visiting our state, and would like to meet us, and check out our rides. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98524 , his name is Stu and the 28th is the only day he has available. Also where do you guys want to meet this time? Hooters again, or some place else? I was thinking on the Marietta side of town, since Stu will be coming down from Ellijay. Anyone know of a good place? Maybe a cruise night? Let me know what you think? Mike kZ
