Dp351zcar
About 18 years ago I had my race bike do that. I was 12:1 and lean. Coils were not strong enough to fire a proper mixture and I didn't know it at the time. He didn't say but I suspect that this motor lived with boost?? CruxGNZ
Cool! I had the same thing happen to my sisters '89 Honda CRX. One of her valves broke in half and mashed the crap out of everything in there. Had to replace the engine for her. The piston had a hole the size of a quarter in it. Nasty stuff. She still has the piston sitting on a shelf in her room. I knew there was going to be a big problem when I trailered her car back dropped it off then checked the spark plugs. One of the plugs was just gone, the electrode and some of the threads were all chewed up. Her words, "whoa... how much is this going to cost?" !M! awd92gsx
Of course...being a Mitsubishi tech...if I had a $20 bill for every valve I've seen bent due to a broken t-belt...I'd be able to swap in an LT1
Guest Anonymous
People just don't pay enough attention to timing belts. Thats one thing on the engine IMHO that you MUST follow recommended replacement guidelines on, its not cheap, but neither is whats in the picture. If they say 60k, replace it, or as the old ad said, pay me now, or pay me later. Regards, Lone
J Taylor
The car isn't from Mobile, is it? I looked at a talon turbo a little while back that was for sale at a automotive place here that looked identical to that. #1 piston was chewed all the hell up.
